Lego Minecraft sets due this summer

I might just hafta buy lego's again

For a second there I thought we were getting a LEGO Minecraft game...

honestly...wasn't this what everyone was thinking anyway?

It was actually voted for by fans on the Lego website for ideas that should be put through. I don't think it's designed to be a usable set even though it could be, probably more of a display item. I can see a market for a novelty item like this even if it's bought as a gift. Without Lego who's to say we'd have got Minecraft? It's nice to see the two paired together. There's a kid in all of us.

If you don't like it, you don't need to buy it. Corporations think with their pockets, if something doesn't sell well they won't make it.

@Tom77i1 Lego really had nothing to do with it, there was a large amount of people wanting to see a Minecraft set, and if Lego gets a large enough fan base for the product then they will make it. I find it pointless to have a brick builder make bricks for another brick builder, but that's just me.

@tom77l1 $35 for 480 pieces is actually really good for Lego.

Hmmm...Total cop out. They haven't even made it to scale with minifigures, the sets are small for their price and it feels like Lego are trying to cash in on a niche market. It all feels a bit rushed, really...

If they had made a video game called "Lego Minecraft" that could've been interesting.

Does it occur to anyone that this is NORMAL legos they have available from the lego stores with the exceptions of the two with the faces on them. Also this is VERY small. I'm not trying to bash but it just seems small and kind of a thing for fans only... >_>; It's great for fans... hopefully if this does well they'll make more video game ones.

I'd buy it just to encourage LEGO to create more videogame lego. It's just cool to have a physical object of a game you love. Also the steve and creeper are pretty funny.

Oooh, I wonder if the preorder bonuses differ between different retailers, like with games. It's based on a game and there are Lego games, so it's not wrong to think that, is it?

Lego's done a wonderful job merging everything about Minecraft (minus the Nether) into a set that small. Definitely a day-one purchase!

Awesome! Just getting into Minecraft. I've been using the Photo Realism mod and it's spectacular.

Why not just buy a cheaper lego set and just "minecraft" with that instead?

That's pretty awesome. I was wondering if Lego would pick up on this and run with it. It would be really cool if Lego would give their license to Notch and give him ideas to shape another Minecraft. How cool would it be if you could have Lego boats, cars, and dragons running around? While still retaining the creativity of the original of course...

I'll buy it just for the Creeper minifig.

This would be pretty boring to play with unless you can devise some sort of game (turn based strategy?) and have another person to play with. Still though, people creative enough and old enough to come up with such things would be better off playing Minecraft. Even little kids would be better off playing Minecraft. This Lego set is only good for making decorations.

I thought this was a Lego version of Minecraft on PC at first. Now I am disappointed.

I always thought that minecraft was just legos on the computer. So if I wanted to build something with legos I would just do it with legos. I don't need them telling me how to build a square with legs.

This just seems silly to me. Why buy Minecraft Legos when real Legos are just better for building things in real life? And if you're a Minecraft fan, why not just play Minecraft?

These are cool & all, but personally, I'm waiting for the Legos based on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Hobbit, & the Avengers.

I still think this is an entirely pointless excuse to slap a Minecraft sticker on a Lego box.

The majority of people who play Minecraft are unlikely to buy Lego to be honest.
