United Kingdom retailer Play posts product listing for upcoming ghost-hunting adventure game for Nintendo's new console.
Luigi's Mansion 2 may come to the Wii U. It was announced at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo for the 3DS, and United Kingdom retailer Play (via Gamerzines) has posted a product listing for a Wii U version.
Nintendo has made no announcement concerning releasing Luigi's Mansion 2 on platforms other than the 3DS and has yet to confirm a release date on the handheld. As of press time, the firm had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
In Luigi's Mansion 2, wacky inventor-scientist Professor E. Gadd returns to ghost research, again sending the taller Mario brother to investigate a string of haunted houses. Players will use Luigi's flashlight and vacuum cleaner to stun and then collect various poltergeists.

I remember seeing this at the 2011 E3 lol. I dont blame them for using another year to perfect it. Same way I feel about my music lol.
WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT????????? Theyre making another smashbros and a pikmin 3?!!!!!!!!!!! YES! It's like all my favorite games that I thought were gone forever are all coming back! :D
Xbox 360 games last a very long time and have a lot of stuff to do. Nintendo games are SUPER CRAZY ADDICTING FUN for a short periode of time, and then about a week later, their also SUPER CRAZY ADDICTING FUN. So there both great. And PS3 games are basicly adult versions of nintendo games. Which are also fun. Nintendo is probably my favorite, and xbox 360 second. I'm not too much of a ps3 or pc person, but they're all video games... Right?
Luigi's mansion was probably(besides borderlands) the most underated game ever. That game is practically flawless. And I hope the new one makes a good impression aswell.
I rather play this game for the WiiU than 3DS since I rarely use the hand held. I can think of a couple of ways to use the new tablet for this game.
Well either way is fine by me as long as it gets out this year. The first one was great and good memories since it was the launch title for GC. New console with new game seem to get stuck in the happycore
It sucks how we have to wait so long for the good 3DS games to come out. As of now..there's not much.
I have to admit the first Luigi's Mansion scared the crap out of me, most of all when I saw Mario stuck in that portrait,( I was 10). And the overall ghosts was just freaky. But I look forward to a sequel.
I know, right? I was too. And the funny thing is that my little brother loves that game. (Mainly the song) and he's 4. :) My fav boss is probably bogmire. Fun fight!
@b0sse Is there really a way to not rip off Ghostbusters while making a game that has ghosts as it's main aspect?
I fucking hate all of you. For the sole reason that most of you are irrationally negative about Nintendo.
The first time they turn to casual gamers to make the market bigger, hate em'. They make the most innovation in the market, hate em'. They are the one's that forged the current day gamer scene into what it is now, hate em'.
Either there's a lot of children in the comments section, a lot of PS3/360 only fans, or idiots. I'm happy to see some people tolerate Nintendo, if that is even the correct terminology, because they haven't done anything that should be ''tolerated''.
If I, as a Nintendo fan, can respect all of the platforms, then you can to. That is, if you have the sufficient amount of braincells, which some people here don't seem to have.
@joujou264 Hate is a strong word man, truthfully I like to go multiplatform too (my order typically goes Nintendo Sony then microsoft, for some reason I always buy in that order) I say if you have halo or cod fan dissing Nintendo go ahead and let them they just don't understand that Nintendo marches at their own beat last year they didn't care to go to a consol war with the other systems but now the wii u is going to go toe-to-toe with them and I'm very excited to see what Nintendo has in their playing hand. Luigi mansion 2 has been on my list since I heard news of it, just settle down over there will you? Your negative karma could draw in more boos for luigi to fend off! Lol I wonder if maybe daisy will need to be saved? :D
@Metal_Gear_LR @joujou264 I wasn't talking about the hate on here in particular, I was talking about it in general. And, I'm sorry, but saying ''Gaytendo should just stop making their kiddy consoles they just suck ass, and mario is like the only thing they do'' is hate, as I copy pasted it here.
And I'm also looking forward to the Wii U, but I am sure they will have good sales, khem Japan khem, but you shouldn't really just allow people to hate something with no reason, they should at least know what they are hating. And it's not particularly bringing people to buy a console, if the console is heavily disliked, that turns away very social people in particular.
And finally, I wasn't really going for bad karma. I really wanted to just express what I thought of the nonsensical hate.
@joujou264 very true people follow crowds and dont even realize that sometimes theyre dissing something that has alway been on top your both right i think you just meant all the trolls in general your just defending what you beleive in and thats something honorable to do but like Metal_Gear_LR said let them hate i mean nintendo marches at their own beat and we all know that my respects to the both of you your both right in different ways i think this E3 will be one of nintendos best and especially more innovative ones i cant wait for what surpises they have in stock for us!
Wow. There needs to be more people like you. I've been a huge Nintendo fan for my whole life. My first games were luigi's mansion and yoshi's island. Nintendo is the company who takes big steps and has THE most innovative minds in gaming. These freaking MORONS are like anti-nintendo or something. I'm not really one to chirp or troll, but seriously, the asses need a life. I'm sorry, but they're the definition of incompetence.
I like Nintendo, but I hate the direction they're going. Hand-helds and motion gaming aren't my thing. I think they should go back to basic controllers.
@gonzo22222 Nintendo has never really went into a ''direction''. At one moment they might go to graphics, like the N64. Or the next moment they do motion gaming, like the Wii. But now, they changed their direction again, creating a mixture of hardcore and casual, which looks like the Wii U is going to be.
And hand-helds, they have always been a Nintendo thing, remember the GameBoy? I don't think that hand-helds are really a direction, it's more of a core aspect of Nintendo.
Nonetheless, don't judge the Wii U as it is depicted by rumours or even confirmations, Nintendo has always had something up it's sleeve to turn the gaming market upside down. And who knows, maybe the Wii U will be the perfect console, but don't take it too serious, until you are holding the console in your hands. But one thing is for sure, the Wii U is going to be a great console.
@joujou264 people need to stop looking for graphics in games as long as the games are fun i mean your right i hate how people dont like nintendo and say their games suck when in reality theyve always had fun games its really stupid to judge a game by graphics and then the only reason to buy a ps3 or 360 is because of the blueray/dvd functionality and graphics i mean they copy nintendos ideas if u think about it the playstation move and the xbox kinect both copied the wiis wii controller and how it moves i mean whats next theyre to copy the wii u's touch screen controller which im sure theyre already about to find a way to do look all im saying is that people need to cut nintendo some slack here because in reality it has made big change in history with its innovative ideas and creations think about it nintendo made the first handheld nintendo system and then sony comes up with its own years later the psp nintendo made great games like smash bros and now that new all stars game is coming out thats said to be sonys version of smash bros i mean think about it nintendo is the reason microsoft and playstation have some of these ''ideas'' i bet u anything that if nintendo bought back rareware from microsoft and created some of the game titles from the 64 it would be even better now even the most of the best people from rare left im sure nintendo would still be able to think of ways to create these games again and would be successful at doing so im just saying dont judge a game by graphics dont judge a console by its name just dont judge period im sick and tired of hearing how microsoft and sony are better than nintendo when nintendo is probably the reason why they get some of these ideas for their games, and gameplay styles!
@joujou264 Brilliant!! This sums up my feelings very well... I own all 3 systems and I will continue to purchase Nintendo consoles for years to come. As long as Nintendo keeps offering me innovative ways to play and tried and true games that I love, I don't give a darn what they look like, as long as I enjoy them!! This is the case with all of the systems for me... Each system offers it's own unique experience why should you hate on one or the other just because they attempt to broaden their gamer market? That's just blind idiocy IMO... and I can't stand idiots!
I will not buy another Nintendo system until they make the modern equivalent of the N64. They are too casual for most serious gamers.
would be pretty cool if this came to the Wii U....I plan to get that and I would definitely get this......the first one was boss but I did just unexpectedly get a 3DS so I might just play it on that at least first
Why so much Nintendo hate. They haven't done a thing to you except make good games. They don't gouge and cheat their fans, the don't dabble in the shady on disc dlc. For pity's sake THEY DON'T EVEN DO DLC. And you you all hate them with a bloody passion.
I for one will be watching them closely at E3...since they're the only major console maker actually going to be there
well fire emblem has DLC now its not really importent at all though and its mostly just fan service which i am ok with. But none the less people need to chill on the nintendo hate I don't come to the ps3/360 articles and start trolling
@ziproy very true sony and microsoft are very greedy they only make such things to make money when nintendo makes these things to bring the fun at a way more affordable price!!!nintendo is the only company u will ever see that doesnt cheat its fans for their money!
The first Luigi's Mansion is one of my favorite Mario games, it's in second place to Super Mario 64 :)
Well thats random, i highly doubt this was just a mistake on their part.
It would be cool if it did appear on Wii U but being both 3DS and Wii U is a long shot since the game has been quite for a long time so we really cant confirm anything.
It is or not, i still cant wait to hear more about this game at E3
The first Luigi's mansion was a great game. In my childhood years, I think it may gave been one of the first games I managed to rent and beat in a weekend, while I finished it quickly, it was bundles of fun. A sequel in HD? I'm sold...
Ah.. Luigi's Mansion was one of the best games I played on my Gamecube! Pity the WiiU looks utter cack... but you know Nintendo were always best combining their flagship characters and games .. so the appeal will be there.
That's pretty cool, the first game was awesome. I remember me and my brother played it for weeks back in the day. Shame I won't get to play this one though 'cause it'll be a cold day in hell before I buy a Wii U. Who know's though? Maybe my 12 year old cousin will get one for Crimbo and I can have a bash on his.
It looks like Nintendo are really serious about have the 3DS and Wii-U be connected systems. That or they moves Luigi's mansion 2 over to the Wii-U. I hope not. I hope it comes out on both and they interact with each other. This whole thing could be a mistake by the retailer though. It could be as simple as that.
Nintendo needs to make a Zelda episode that explains what happened before Wind Waker, why was the world flooded. When I heard about the valley of the flood rumor I was so excited, they could really make up a good story! Link doesn't succeed in defeating Ganon, who submerges the world, and then the story continues the way they want, I don' know how. They'd get my money once more...
And for god's sake, just make another Super Mario RPG, I like 2D platformers but Nintendo used Mario only for 2D platformers lately, what happened to the other franchises!
@Gurzociurlo Here's my question and I've been pondering this for years, why does the only ocean themed Zelda game not have a fishing mechanic? You have OOT small pond fishing.... Windwaker would have been perfect. Did it have anything to do with the story? I dunno just a thought.....
@Gurzociurlo I think it's more interesting if it's left ambiguous. The whole theme of Wind Waker was myths and legends, so the undetailed explanation that they gave in the intro is perfectly fine.
I used to be really excited about WiiU. Then all of a sudden I got sick of the ridiculousness rumors floating around. Guys, don't get a WiiU. Put that money towards getting a decent PC, the greatest console of them all.
@Sgthombre Don't dislike a system because of rumors, it's not the system's fault that these rumors float around. Dislike a system when it has been released and has not met your expectations.
@whatwhat93 very true nintendo is an awsome company and has always been affordable and fun i mean its perfect its a company thats not greedy and thats why its had so much success its like comparing best buys overpriced retail with walmarts great deals that have it making over ten fold of what best buy makes because its not cheating its customers i mean best buys a good place but walmart will always be on top because it has learned to truly value its customers thats how i see it as if you can offer cheaper more affordable deals and offer fun and excitement for everyone you will get your result but if you cheat your customer with dlc being higher than the salesprice on the actual game itself or overly priced consoles or games or even accessories youve got a major problems and even negative numbers going into your company not to mention the loss of customers
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon has no shortage of charm, but difficulty spikes and a lack of checkpoints weigh heavily on the experience.
