I would also love for Bioware to pull a Bungie and buy their freedom from the bloated monstrosity that is: EA.
Single-player content coming to BioWare's space-bound role-playing game later this year; additional multiplayer content also planned.
Mass Effect 3 is not finished growing yet. As part of his farewell address to retiring BioWare founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, studio general manager Aaryn Flynn announced that additional single-player content is coming to Mass Effect 3, including Omega DLC this fall.
No further information regarding the content was made available. Flynn also said that additional multiplayer content is coming to Mass Effect 3, though he did not share any more details.
On top of further DLC for Mass Effect 3, BioWare also recently confirmed that a brand new Mass Effect game is in the works, with Casey Hudson returning as executive producer. No information is available about the game, but BioWare producer Michael Gamble teased in February that the studio has "so much to draw from."
"Without going down any specific path, you can think of many, many different areas throughout the [intellectual property], throughout the history, where there are large wars to be won, large battles to be had, and a lot of development to be done around where these races came from, how they came about," he said at the time.
Hey I just realised, this is why Garrus gets basically no plot in ME3! It's because it was cut to use in this DLC!
If a new Mass Effect game is in the works I WANT MY OWN SHIP, and to be able to get a multiplayer crew and be able to fight other people with your ship. Hint Hint open world Multiplayer.
Again, something that should have been in my £60+ new game, which by the way totally ruined my enjoyment of the mass effect universe. Totally overpriced game with only half the game play and massive plot holes (and no, it wasn't the shoddy ending that really destroyed my replay value). I shelved my mass effect trilogy for ever.
why safe omega when everything is going to finish in red, blue and green. dead is dead. there is no point, unless you are only interested in mashing your buttons...the story is dead. After playing jade empire for the first time (spend my ms points in the sale instead of me3 dlc's) i was reminded how much fun bioware's games used to be and how much of a chore me3 is.
Why add insult to injury? ME3 was lousy even without the lousy ending. The second half of the game felt so lazily developed trying to reach a release deadline.
I wonder why EA didn't put all these content in Mass Deffect in the beginning. I guess they love making DLCs.
I highly enjoyed my ride through the mass effect series, but I will say that I didn't really enjoy ME3 nearly as much as ME2 because it felt a little unfinished and now I see why (EA $$..). ME3 is still a great game by all means, but I've lost interest (seeing as the game came out 6 months ago) and all this DLC that should have been part of the release kind of feels like a rip off honestly.
@MuggySake If people did not buy it, companies would not make it.
@MuggySake Only for EA and Capcom, everyone else seems to make bigger DLC's and take longer to be released.
I'd rather see a full game for once, it's not like they are publishing a Dragon Age:Awekening like expansion were you go on with he main story, they are constantly stepping back on a story that has already been wrote and that everyone has already finished. The next DLC will be like "pay 20$ and save shepard from death"
@ilantis Dragon Age Origin had the Grey Warden story only, Awakening seems like a attempted add on which failed miserably.
@ilantis no one yet knows but Shepard will b resurrected simply coz reapers have that technology yet ppl will need someone in their own (human form) to lead them against new threats rather then machines that not that long ago were excelling genocide on earth ......Shepard will b way stronger with reapers features in him, choosing one more class besides soldier, biotic etc......imagine illusions, twisting time and space, teleporting, and what not Shepar will b sick LOL.....just an idea :)
Might as well make a zombie shepard DLC. Anyhow I bet the WiiU version won't include any of these DLCs.
It's always amusing (And by that I mean eye-rollingingly weary-inducing) to hear the same old comments about DLC. You can't put the genie back in the bottle...I'm sure you've heard the expression. Everytime I hear someone complain about how it used to be in terms of expansion packs and greedy companies (as if capitalism was a sin instead of the bedrock that forms a lot of the nations the people post from), I automatically read the comments in my head in Grampa Simpson's voice. Try it. It's fun! And also self-deprecating! Go on! Do it while no one is around.
What Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka are retiring, oh boy now I have absolutely no hope of Dragon Age 3 being a good game nor any bioware games. They'll just replace the founders with some EA managers so that there will be even more EA influence, don't be surprised if Dragon Age 3 becomes a combo based hack and slash with quicktime events to finish off your foes.
@stan_boyd Zeschuk and Muzyka are responsible for the failure that is ME3. Is there anything to lament here? Those guys cashed in by selling out to EA and now they don't have to care anymore. It's obvious they stopped caring years ago when ME3 was in development.
Does Bioware ever release ultimate editions? I don't remember any, but if they do then I'll continue to wait and get this game.
@23Jarek23: They did with the first Dragon Age but there was a lot of extra DLC for that one, Awakenings, Return to Ostagar, Witch Hunt, Leilani's Story and another with Golems... ME1 and ME2 didn't really have enough DLC to warrant such a package so I doubt it'll happen.
@TTDog Technically the PS3 release of ME2 came with a good chunk of the DLC- everything but "the arrival" (which was released afterwards for both consoles)
Just imagine how much DLC BioWare and EA have already planned to release for their next ME game. They've already shown their willingness to complete gut out and butcher a plot to add DLC content later. Count me out of the bulls***.
this isn't surprising, people on the bioware forums have been asking for this since the game came out
Why all positive comments about ME3 are left by users with random numbers in their nicknames ? I grow suspicious that they are users created by the marketing division of EA. They overuse the word "fun" like some sort of bots. I look at you, jediknight52501
@jhonMalcovich Alright, let me make one... I loved everything about ME3 save for the last 15 minutes of it where it got weird and confusing... I had no expectation on the multiplayer and ended up liking it enough to keep playing for a bit. I also hate DLCs because they are not worth it 90% of the time so I'm unlikely to buy it since I moved on to other games. (I confess that I really liked the Overlord ME2 DLC but there are always exceptions)
I recently checked the Leviathan dlc review. And once again Bioware extracted an important part of the main plot which could have explained the ending and converted it into DLC. Besides Leviathan is played with Sheppard. Sheppard dieeeeeeed. He´s no longer with us.
And now Omega dlc...What will happen, Bioware? Sheppard just before going to the final battle decided to pass by Omega and liberate it !?
Bioware, once I get thinking you can´t fall lower you prove me wrong.
@jhonMalcovich Shepard does not die in some of the endings.
@LatinproX You mean the red explosions ending....Naaah i don´t know. Maybe that was his last dying breath. And he was lying under rubbles. And he was taken for dead by his comrades. So no rescue operation. Besides it would have been a miracle if that station after the destruction stayed hermetic and no air was lost.
I actually just got around to playing ME3, yesterday, and was pretty pissed they made it where you couldn't holster your weapon....I was like WTF you could in ME2 and not ME3? DA FUQ. I know its small thing to rant about but I mean really........
My, my, so many DLCs for this game! I wonder how good this is by itself or just good because of extra content. And to think people complain about downloading DLCs...
