Many people have said that Kojima seems to want to make a movie out of MGS, but something has stopped him from doing so and therefore he compensates that by having MGS games feel like movies with lots of cutscenes compared to actual gameplay. I'm glad that he finally gets to make a movie and one featuring Solid Snake would not only be quite interesting, but also give those aforementioned "many people" plenty of reasons to say "I told you so". Everybody wins :P.

Kinda funny that kojima isn't more directly involved with the film now that he's got a chance to do one, he's been trying to load them into his games for years.

I don't see how you can do MGS live action. It would have to be cgi, because, imo, David Hayter is Solid Snake. It would be like trying to do Transformers without Peter Cullen.

I don't really understand the need for a MGS film. The MGS games are fantastic games/films as they are.  Can't Hollywood think of its own original ideas for films any more?

I know people say videogame movies are always bad, but if they handle this like The Avengers, it will be good

And then it will eventually go in development limbo and get canned.

I hope they stay true to Metal Gear Solid in the movie.

At least with Hideo Kojima involved he can make it the way it should be, not the directors interpretation of it.

I thought Hugh Jackman would be perfect visually, however I don't know bout his voice... can't really beat David Hayter's for Snake

I just hope that with Kojima supervising, the movie will NOT be a disappointment. 8-\

Just like ALL the games-to-movies out there, there's no high hope of this movie being any good either. Tekken was awful, Chun Li - abysmal, and the current train wreck that keeps chugging along - Resident Evil: Retribution. The problem with these movies is that they fail at trying to reinvent something original, and instead turn it into something awful. If it's not going to be just as good or better than the game, then just don't even try it.
