They should hire Gamers , not a fµck!n nonGamers , they have nothin to do with video games industry , and specially there is a lots of studios have a nonGamers CEO's and directors . they should follow ''from Gamers to Gamers'' policy .
Microsoft hires former CBS TV exec

Company brings on Nancy Tellem to develop "interactive and linear content for Xbox" at new production studio in LA to help make platform an all-in-one destination for entertainment.
Microsoft has hired CBS Television executive Nancy Tellem to join as president of the company's Entertainment and Digital Media division. The former president of GameSpot's parent company CBS Network Television will join the Redmond, Washington company to develop "interactive and linear content for Xbox and other devices" at a new production studio in Los Angeles.
On top of managing the new production studio, Tellem will lead Microsoft's push to make the Xbox platform an all-in-one destination for entertainment. She and her team will create "unique, compelling storytelling experiences" for Xbox. None of these were named.
Tellem has been an executive at CBS since 1997, and recently worked as senior adviser to company CEO Leslie Moonves. At her post at CBS, Tellem oversaw programming, development, production, business affairs, and operations related to the network's range of content.
Tellem will report to Microsoft Studios president Phil Spencer.

This hardly effects the fact i have plenty of games to play on my xbox both disk and xbla like some people seem to think it does
@jtthegame316 The problem lies in the fact that few of them are actually exclusives. They're putting more effort in adding all kinds of unnecessary media options on it than focusing on making great games just for it.
@Daian About 90 odd percent of what is released on both xbox and ps 3 are not exclusives.
@Daian @jtthegame316 x360 do have several exclusives that arent time exclusives typically more on XBLA than on $15 PSN titles. (new ips/sequels - not remakes or ports)
Its MS that started shifting away from the regular retail games to budget titles and i wouldnt be surprise if the next console from MS will be another WII-U.
The executive class only hires from the executive class. The same suits (male and female) bounce around from post to post because, guess what - they all sit on the boards of each others companies and just hire each other. Once you're in the executive class, you don't have to be good at what you do anymore.

3 Like More reason for me not to buy the next MS system. I have slowly lost interest in my 360 over the past year. Outside of a few games here and there, which I can also play on PS3. What reason do I have to fire up the Xbox? Sure i'll play Halo 4. Okay, then what?
MSNBC news? Advertisements about Axe? It's ridiculous IMO. Sure, Comcast, Youtube, and Netflix is cool. But enough is enough. I bought it for gaming not to watch TV.
Besides... I already do all of that with my PC without worrying about it overheating, or any of the likes. I will be watching next gen very closely for GAMES, nothing else.

My only idea is that MS in fact does have some stellar new ips in the works, but is saving them solely for next gen. If thats the case, its annoying, but i would understand. Only time will tell.

Eventually I see them just going Zynga style lol I haven't heard ONE excited GAME RELATED story about MS in... i don't know how long... It really doesnt seem like they will ever get any new exclusives... :S At least i have 24+ games in my xbox collection i have yet to finish... cause it looks like all that ill have to do with my Xbox.

Eventually the discussion on the item is all about whether CBS is a good network or not.
CBS isn't the best network, but still could be something. CBS Television executive Nancy Tellem could just be looking to keep employed.
I only want the games, thanks. Well, actually, I take that back, if there's blu-ray, I'll probably watch movies on it as well, maybe, that's all.
2 Like Was CBS making good shows with this woman in charge. I know some folks that have developed for TV and I've heard a few horror stories about "Creative Execs" in general. Not to say anything bad about this woman in particular, but it seems likely that this move will just further feed Microsoft's generally bloated nature.
1 Like Funny how people seem to think MS is abandoning gamers or whatever with this. The way I see it, they're just trying to reach a broader audience. It's not like there are going to be fewer games coming out because of this, or that they'll be of lower quality, or that adding extra awesome features to the Xbox is going to get in the way of our gaming. I know I for one don't spend ALL my free time gaming. It's like taking a pocket knife and turning it into a swiss army knife.

3 Like What is the benefit of using the Xbox for an all-in-one entertainment platform? Other than is gives MS total control of content delivery. I can't think of any digital content that isn't already easily available some other way. With Microsoft's track record of putting their best interest over its customers, I think I'll pass on this one.
Prediction: Within months after it's release the new Xbox will "affectionately" become known as the Lockbox, as the result of consumer frustration with accessing digital content due to overly-restrictive and poorly implemented DRM.

9 Like Their focus on entertainment vs gaming will drive me away from their next xbox. I am sure lots of folks will love this - but I simply have not experienced ANY added value over what my current entertainment system brings me (and yes, my TV is internet capable and attached to my home LAN). This is simply better done through other devises, with higher quality, and lower cost.
@ElJefeDeMedios I think consoles need to be all-in-one loungeroom devices to continue thriving. Its long been a major contributing sales factor. Consider the PS2, and how that was a first DVD player for quite a lot of people. PS3 again, for Blu-Ray.
Whilst not many people would buy a PS3 or a 360 just to stream live sports for example, its definitely a pull factor that any console manufacturer would be insane to ignore in future. Nintendo have jumped on the bandwagon, and its a smart move. Too bad the Wii U won't have DVD playback, let alone Blu-Ray, but that's another story... Nintendo's logic is they figure people already have devices to support those formats***, but what has worked for Sony is: Who needs other devices when their game console does it?

@ElJefeDeMedios i respectfully disagree, because of the added entertainment services all i have to pay for now is internet. on the downside i dont get much gaming done anymore. i wish they would allow you to swap between games and shows on the fly or pic n pic so you could do both.
1 Like I hear ya. I have tried each of them out - I did not like the quality of the video picture. But yes - If I did not pay a horrible amount for cable already I would be less jaded. I also can use all of the free services already through my TV - but in better quality. Try running HULU on your PC through your TV ... let me know what you think of the difference in quality. Still free, but IMHO - much better streaming quality.

I don't have any problem with it at all - I am just saying that for me personally, when I look toward the nextgen systems - I would rather XBOX spend the computing resources into gaming experiences instead of non-gaming items, as I already have other systems which provide very high quality experiences because of their focus.
