Its funny because Bf3 was going to be the "Cod killer!". What a joke indeed. As a wise man once said: "Behind every successful person/thing, lies a pack of haters". Hate is generated from jealousy, and CoD is the prime example of this.

This game is more like modern warfare 2.5. However for me that's a good thing. I loved modern warfare 1 and 2. Skipped on black ops and world at war. I never expect a successful game company to outright change their product unless it does poorly. To date their is no other game on the market that allows you to be rambo; that child hero that's stuck in our subconscious.

and why do BF3 fans (and EA) have to be so insecure? all the petty bashing of MW3 is pretty sad and transparent. even the COD-bashing tagline for BF3 is unfortunate. shows the company itself has an inferiority complex. they should just endeavor to make a great game and let gamers be the judge. just an observation from someone who owns and plays BOTH...

so why exactly do people bother to pre-order? i haven't seen a shortage of copies of any major new title for a few years.

@afwaseem There are several changes with those games you listed...Not to mention they have 2 or 3 year+ time spans between them. And COD comes out every year. Not to mention games like Star craft have mods, Halo has a map editor, BF3 will hopefully have mods eventually and we get free map packs that is true DLC, not just rehashed maps from older games.

In one year there will be more used copies of MW3 than you could ever imagine.

@Sigil-otaku bro u did not get my point may be becase my msg was not so explanatory ...i agree with u on most of your points my point was every one say harsh words about cod still sold most every year ... because there are many reasons for me first reason is cod is most easiest game for new comer pick it up .. easy to learn and that is good think not every play as hardcore in fact huge huge number of players are casual players that is why cod never losses its fan base and i think never will 2nd most important reason is people who hates cod or say they will never pick it up again ... every year they are ones who get it on preorder so why to say so much garbage .... every game has its own basics and it should stick to it if you get bored to it dont buy it ... if people keep buying it there is no reason for developers to change it ... only one thing on which i disagree with you that is i did not see any noticeable change in bf3 but gears3 some thing outstanding and cod and bf can never match gears league but still basic game of gears is same because that is what makes it different and one thing i am gears fan not cod but here my point is different

What's the breakdown of pre-order by system? About a week ago I read on themodernwarfare3.com that the pre-order of MW3 for Xbox360 way surpassed all other systems combined; that was at only about 3.5 million pre-orders. Is the entire MW franchise shaping up to be a Xbox360 game? Maybe Microsoft will try to make it Xbox-exclusive, though with these numbers I guess there is no reason.

@TheLastCamba How can you say that CoD players are "hardcore"? That's laughable. It's a video game... there's nothing "hardcore" about it. smh..... kids...

Only good thing I can say about this game is Campaign and Spec Ops. Graphics did not improve but that doesn't bother me. Multiplayer is a massive disappointment - maps are so badly designed compared to the previous versions (who the hell designed the levels? I wanna give him a beating). Heck, I want a full refund of the collectors edition I've purchased and get the standard or borrow off a friend until I've completed the story. Like I've said, story and spec ops is good, very degraded multiplayer (MW2's MP was so much more fun)

I do hope activision does take a break fro the COD franchise. I hope they remember what happened to Guitar Hero

@afwaseem Are you sure about that? Gears 3 added Horde mode (seems to be getting copied by quite a few games now so clearly was a success) and gears 3 added beast mode. That's with the original already being a bit of a detour from the standard of shooters. These aren't omg revolutionary but they are good additions, Halo tends to add things too like equipment, armour abilities, forge, fire fight etc. so to compare these to games that don't change much (especially Halo which DID even change the gameplay / play style with the armour abilities) is quite naive and invalidates your point. COD and BF seem to not update much, at least BF went for an all out massive graphical showcase though which sets it apart somewhat and gives it a movie like / high production value edge. MW3 on the other hand has just not done enough, people will buy it and most will have fun since it's gameplay over graphics but even the COD gameplay has been ridiculously stale. The problem is you get COD every year, it's become and annual release like FIfa and it's just not doing enough to change between each release. I've played tons of FPS, COD was the LEAST standout of them all though.

Why do people keep comparing BF3 and MW3? Apples and bananas! We all know BF3 is for more cooperative, tactical and somehow realistic gameplay while MW3 is for action-packed-kill-them-all Rambo-style! Both are great games! You dont have to hate BF3 just because you have MW3 or vice-versa... Play both and buy the one thats suits your needs!

In the real battlefield... Your friends and comrades gets tortured, crushed, maimed and blown-up in war. And if they lived through that -- i'm sure that they're lucky enough to compare BF3 and MW3 gameplay and ratings before the trauma of the sound of bullets and untold 'guilt' kicks in :/

when i heard sledgehammer games was working to make this game i was excited...but after seeing the final product...all i can say is its such a disappointment, i expected the multiplayer to be completely different...too bad all my friends already have the game so down the line ill probably get it too -_-

and i read somewhere on web that cod fan boys uses gtx cards for windows game like minesweeper i do not mind i mean they are kids , immature , they play cod off course , they are going to buy 10 $ maps this xmas hmmmmn here comes the santa.

if cod mw4 or any call of duty game comes with this engine once more...and i literally means once more and get a 8.5 because game spot is corrupt as all other sites i will stop reading reviews or coming to these sites thank you...

bf2 to bf3 no change no one complain ... every halo with hardly few changes no complains ... gears of war same over and over again no complains ... playing SC for last 15 years no worries ... why every body complain about cod and have double stander for it and still it sold most every year ... get a life haters and yah do not forget to dumb me down lol

To all of us that dont want to see COD rehashing the same thing all the time take hope from the fact that Zynga's profits are falling horribly and they are a company that just reskin games all the time and were making ludicrous amounts of money from it. its only a matter of time until the same thing happens to COD

Sweet. Now all the kids will go play CoD 'MW v1.3' and get off our bf3 servers. The kids are going back home to momma Activision for another spoon fed dose of CoD. I won't pay for another bad console port of the same game I've played since the first MW came out. That said, MW knows what they are doing guys. Don't hate on em for it. They make an easily sellable, brand recognizable product and cater it to the cheapest, most easily attainable systems out there: consoles. Why would any adult in their right mind would hand over the keys to a very expensive, very high performance PC system when they can park their kids in front of a $250 console, hand them the same game in a new box year after year and the kids are perfectly happy with it? Why feed a kid a steak when they are perfectly happy with McDonalds? It's no wonder 'MW 1.3' sales are high. People buy a lot of Big Macs too. :)

Casual unrealistic military first person shooter, YEAH! Casual games sale not hardcore games.

Simply gonna rent it for the SP campaign, as BF3 takes care of my MP needs.

If anyone is curios, Activision shipped 12.5 million copies of MW3 to be available for purchase on day 1. In contrast, EA shipped 10 million copies of BF3 (and sold 5 million the first week) to be available for purchase on day 1. Just some interested statistics. If the statistics I found are true I am in doubts that the pre-orders for MW3 are at 9 million, leaving only 3.5 million left on the shelf for people to buy who didn't pre-order. But, we'll see soon enough.

my vote goes the BF3. a good challenge and team work is the way to go. unlike the infamous run and gun. I'm surprised activision get away with this every damn year!? peoples are sure easy to please these days...

First of all I liked the video! And for everyone that says that COD is the same thing all over again I agree. I wish BF3 would be the same too though, as previous BF's and not change to that thing that it is now...
