Nintendo tabs 10 titles for 3DS launch window

I really loved StarFox, one of the few games I'm excited about.

I'll get it when Snake Eater comes out probably, but no sooner... none of the other games sound appealing to me.

Don't worry irsteve, Sharp doesn't make a 3D LCD panel that size yet.

@RabidBurp it is highly possible that it will as the mercenaries is about 70-80 % percent complete and will be releasing about a month or 2 after the 3ds release but the exact date is still tba but they said they r trying 4 a release soon after the 3ds

@irsteve Highly doubt it. What could they do: release a 3DS XLi? lol Not a chance. The 3DS is fully loaded as it is, so no need to worry. Also, I hope RE: Revelations gets a 2011 launch date too! I really can't wait to play it!

Totally stoked, but I'd be pretty mad if they put out a new model of the 3ds a few months after putting out the first one; Just like with the DS, DSI and the DSI XL.

@tennis12master: I know what price the Wii launched at in the US. But you may have missed my point: the Wii launched in Japan (without a pack-in game) for the same price that Nintendo has stated for the 3DS: ¥25,000. (About $200 in 2006, about $300 now.) In this case, the Japanese price is driven up by media licensing that we likely won't be getting at launch.

@XxParasite: Actually, the Wii launched in North America at $250. But, hopefully 3DS will be the same price or cheaper. I don't want to pay too much for a portable system, even if it's as awesome as 3DS!

To anyone saying that the system will be $300: Nintendo never said that. They said that it would be ¥25,000. Yes, that's about $300 nowadays, but it was also the launch price of the Wii.

This system has potential, but it seems it will take some time for it to get explored.

Okay, to all the people that are hating on the 3DS. Go to Wikipedia, type in 3DS, read the whole article, then come back and tell me EXACTLY what part about it you don't like, without saying "3D is a fad" because that's your personal opinion, not a fact, or "it costs too much" because it's a 3D video game system, it's gonna cost a lot.

Damn... It's so amazing, but $300 price tag... :/

To fix my statement and to not be insaulting this time: 3DS top screen rez: 800x240 IE to allow for 400 pixels per eye when in 3D mode (Still higher then SD which runs at 640x480 for most small devices) 3DS bottom screen rez: 320x240 This means we will have better feedback and more responsive touch screen gameplay on the 3DS because the other DS systems use a lower rez screen. Cart sizes at launch: Cartridge slot for both 3DS and DS cards (3DS cards have a 2GB capacity "at launch", suggesting larger sizes to come) / SD memory card slot. Looks like they increased the space for the new models games as well, plus with the "At launch item" that means games could become at least 8GBs in size if not bigger by the time the platform is into it's 2nd year. A great move on Nintendos part to allow developers to make even bigger games, and use more power as the platform grows. Wi-fi specs: 2.4ghz / 802.11 wi-fi / Can communicate with other consoles or internet when in sleep mode / wireless can be switched off to preserve battery life. This means that it supports N class wi-fi and means I will get one for sure, stupid PSP only dose B/A class, same with the current DSi and it at least dose G class wi-fi, now Nintendo is yet agian at the top of the food chain! Wonder how clean the images will be. There are currently 'glasses-less' trading cards, CD & DVD packages, etc., where the images move, or are in 3-D (lenticular lens technology), but the lines/graphics are blury, at best.

can i play standard DS games on it?

@SaltyMeatballs I own them I was just taking what that guy said literally.

It feels like this is the main reason for the 3DS's launch date being sometime next year instead of this holiday. Because they want some games to be launched alongside it so maybe they're giving developers some time to finish up their projects, instead of launching it like the DS, with barely any titles to go along with it.

@Branmuffin316: Those were just a straight port, crappy framerate and all remained. It was exactly the same game. Zelda on 3DS is a remake, a lot of things will be added; improved; refined. Etc. A better experience overall.

@ZIVX: Well that clears up the "launch" mess, as they might not all be available day one. However, Gamespot's list doesn't say they will be available at day one. Personally I will be very happy if OOT a launch game :D

OoT won't be a port but a remake with better graphics and a fixed water temple and probably more additions

I can't believe Rockman DASH 3 won't be on the PSP. Or at least the DS, who wants to pay 300+ bucks for a decent Rockman game... And OOT is so over-rated its insane. How about releasing Triforce of the Gods AKA alttp in 3D, a GOOD Zelda game.

I'd love to see some new original RPGs on the 3DS. Can't wait to see what else they do with it.

I know Ocarina of Time is a much beloved game, but honestly, Nintendo, you should have given us a new one. You're creating a poor trend here by rereleasing old content in 3D, when you should be giving us NEW games. I realize you're in a pinch here to fill up your launch library, but this is just cheap. I mean, look at Sony. Final Fantasy VII was about as beloved as OoT, but they didn't launch the PS2, PS3 or PSP with it... I'm sold on the 3DS, but I'll be damned if I buy a game I still own over again... :|

As long as a Sonic game is announced and hopefully some sort of Nintendo achievement system then I'm completly sold on the 3DS. Sonic Adventure 2 would be pretty funky in 3D on this thing! :)

Ocarina of Time sold me on the 3DS. You have no idea how long I have dreamed of an Ocarina of Time port. A super smash bros 3DS and I would be in heaven.

Great line up! To the people that think the 3DS price is $300, that is Japans price for the System, again, the other Nintendos around the world have yet to announce an actual launch date/ price. But believe me, it is not going to be more than $249.99 in the Americas. If I am able to convince my mom... and *cough* my dad (sadly he will probably say there is no point in getting it since the World is going to end some time in May), this is going to be a day one buy for me :D
