Some staffers will be at next week's LA trade show, but former Halo dev not planning to divulge any new information on upcoming Activision projects.
Bungie's new game universe to be published by Activision will not be shown off at next week's Electronic Entertainment Expo. The Bellevue, Washington-based developer wrote on its website this weekend that while some Bungie staffers will be at the show, the company will have no official presence at the event, and gamers should not expect any announcements.
As for what Bungie is currently creating, last week, new details about the company's first post-Halo game came to light. Code-named Destiny, the game is contractually obligated to be a massively multiplayer online-style shooter, which will launch exclusively on the Xbox and its successor during fall 2013, with subsequent installments to launch every second year thereafter for Sony's consoles and PCs. Bungie has not detailed release plans or platforms for its first series for Activision, and these plans were only current as of April 2010.
Bungie will not be the only high-profile developer to forgo making announcements at the annual geek gathering. Valve will be at the show, but is not planning to unveil anything new, while Respawn Entertainment is skipping it altogether.

Bungie are/were well and truly in bed with MS, whatever this is wont be released for this generation of consoles for sure - expect a (new xbox) release and a PS follow-up. I was never particularly impressed with Halo myself though, so I'm not sure how much interest I have in this...
I was hyped for this until I heard they were with activision and that it's an mmo and that its rated teen even though it's an fps.
2 Like Quite clearly Activision haven't decided on the DLC structure yet. Once that's announced Bungie will be free to spurt all the nonsense and 'elite' packages they want.
That's my opinion.. because quite honestly Activision destroy everything they touch.

I'm tired of seeing all these "I'm sick/tired of boring/generic/cod clones" before we know anything, at all.Remember kids cod MW is kind of a halo clone, I think bungie is smart enough to recognize the market is over saturated, shooter does not translate to "Gritty brown/grey cod/halo FPS" it could be 3rd person or isometric like Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter or GASP! ONI the OTHER bungie game.
Also they are making a new marathon game, and I get the feeling they aren't going to release two multiplayer fps side by side.

@pHANTOMpHREAK9P I only meant in terms of regenerating health, online multiplayer driven, first person shooters with unrealistic shooting mechanics, as far as the setting they are nothing alike, look under the skin and they are very very similar.
We don't really need them at e3, just ask the infinity ward lawyers politely and I'm sure we can have all the details we want in no time!

We already know the game is coming to 360 as a timed exclusive in 2013. It's coming to PS3/PC in 2014. The sequels will come out at the same time. It's also going to be on 720. It's going to be an MMO. It's all in the Activision contract we saw a week or two ago.
The sad part is.... I dont really care about bungie anymore. Halo was an awesome series but I just got tired with what they're gonna do next (which will probably be another FPS or MMO).
It's obviously call of duty: modern warfare 4. Nope can't mention that till next year.....

@Bad-School-Girl Pretty sure Bungie kicked off the whole FPS craze when they released the original Halo? It was so out of the box it was revolutionary. Hardly generic anyway. Or were you referring to Activision?

Good. That means that whatever game they are making still needs years to complete. That should mean that it gets a lot of polish :D
3 Like Corporations often say they're not working on something/won't announce anything to keep their cards hidden. Truth is, we don't know what E3 will be like until it starts, progresses, and then finishes. Besides, E3 has changed back into the tech circus it used to be, so it should still be fun...well, for those attending it anyway.
That was to be expected, I mean, they basically just started work on that Activision project.

Regarding E3, it seems a lot of other devs won't be announcing anything either, so it might turn out to be a damp squib of an event. :/
@RobertBowen There's a rumor that there may be loads of Wii U games announced, but wasn't that also expected? And I bet the Vita is also going to get some new games, maybe Sony will say something regarding The Last Guardian.
Its shaping up to be a pretty weak E3. With most developers backing out, SEGA re-organizing into a large multi-media company, Mircosoft not planning on discussing Durango, Sony trying to save VITA and Nintendo preparing to display a console who's CPU has been revealed to only be on par with PS3's 4 CELL.
E3 2012, will suck.

2 Like Hmm, this is a good thing. As much as I love bungie, and as much as I want to know what is up their sleeve next, the anticipation is making me love what it could be even more. It was this anticipation that made me enjoy so many games before, I don't think this will be any different. Good luck Bungie, we'll have a seat for ya next year. :)
