@Vepiion... Arx Fatalis is indeed a great game, but it was made by Arkane Studios. Jowood was just a (lousy) publisher for it. And after the horrendous Gothic: Arcania by Spellbound, the rights for future Gothic titles are back with Piranha Bytes.
Nordic Games Holding acquires JoWood and The Adventure Company
Publishers of Gothic and Spellforce saved from insolvency; subsidiary company that publishes adventure game also in the mix.
Earlier this year, developer JoWood Entertainment declared insolvency after being unable to acquire funding to stay functional. Nordic Games Publishing recently announced on its site that it has acquired JoWood together with its subsidiary company, The Adventure Company, thus saving the parent company from going under.
Nordic Games now has the publisher's brands and back catalog under its control. The publisher's future plans are to relaunch JoWood's back catalog and create new IPs in the process. The company mentioned that key focus brands include Spellforce, Painkiller, Arcania, The Guild, Panzer Elite, Legend of Kay, The Nations, Safecracker, and Neighbors From Hell "amongst others."
Nordic Games was established in 2008, with its headquarters located in Karlstad, Sweden. The company recently opened a new office in Vienna, Austria.
