Over 2 million Skyrim mods downloaded
Bethesda reveals PC Creation Kit yielded more than 2,500 unique game mods for fantasy role-playing game since its release last week.
The Creation Kit for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has proven popular. According to Bethesda, gamers have downloaded more than 2 million mods since the content creation tools launched last week.
Designed to support the modding community, the Creation Kit gives gamers access to Bethesda's own development tools to make new Skyrim content. All mods are available for free.
Bethesda said more than 2,500 mods have been created and published by the community through the Skyrim Workshop. The tools went live last Tuesday.
The Creation Kit was originally targeted to arrive in January, before later being pushed to February 7.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim shipped for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in November to rapt reviews. The game took home the Game of the Year award at the Interactive Achievement Awards last week in Las Vegas as part of D.I.C.E. 2012.
