@fetusfart18 Hack n Slash? Like Dynasty? Haha I'm in!! I'll make myself 1 of the million then this week and get you your free in-game content ;) haha. Cheers man, I'll let you know what I think.
Four new samplers arrive on Sony's storefront; Alien Breed 3: Descent, Space Ace, Days of Thunder also out; PSP Storefront adds Ys: I and II Chronicles; Killzone 3, Fallout add-on content launch.
Leading the pack this week are four new demos, the first of which is for BioWare's upcoming fantasy role-playing game Dragon Age II. In the demo, gamers will be able to play through Dragon Age II's prologue as one of three character classes. The demo will introduce the game's primary protagonist, Hawke, and see him journey to Kirkwall to rendezvous with romantic interest Isabela. Gamers who complete the demo will also unlock Hayder's Razor, a dwarven blade that grants health, mana, and combat bonuses for use in the full game.
Additionally, if at least 1 million gamers download the Dragon Age II demo by March 1, two in-game bonus items will be unlocked for the entire community. Dragon Age II is due out on March 8.
Gamers who prefer lightsabers to swords can download a demo for Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars today. Developer Traveller's Tales will introduce new battle modes with Lego Star Wars III, including close-encounter combat techniques and the ability to build customized bases and fortresses. Gamers can take the side of either a Jedi or a Separatist, each of which comes with its own special abilities.
The string of new demos now available continues with a sampler for Yakuza 4. The demo will let players try out all four of the characters and their respective fighting styles. PlayStation Plus subscribers were able to download the demo last week, but now all PlayStation Network members can grab the trial.
The fourth demo out now is for the latest installment of Sony's flagship baseball game. Gamers eager to get the baseball season started can grab a demo for MLB 11: The Show today from the PlayStation Network. The sampler lets gamers play four innings in San Francisco's AT&T Park in a World Series rematch against the Texas Rangers. The demo also boasts the game’s new Pure Analog Control system, which allows players to hit, field, and pitch with "unparalleled precision."
Killzone 3 was released yesterday to critical acclaim, but Guerrilla Games already has downloadable content available for the shooter's multiplayer component. The Retro Map Pack ($5) includes two of Killzone 2's most popular environments: Blood Gracht and Saluman Market, updated for play in Killzone 3.
Another hot-ticket DLC item out now is the Dead Money ($10) content for Fallout: New Vegas. The content sees players kidnapped and compelled to recover the fabled treasure of the Sierra Madre casino with the help of a mute woman, a mutant with multiple personalities, and a suave ghoul.
Gamers looking for new PS3 games to download this week also have a few options to choose from. The final chapter in the science-fiction arcade shooter Alien Breed 3: Descent ($10) is ready to download now. Also out now on the PSN is Space Ace ($10), the follow-up to Don Bluth's Dragon's Lair.
The last new PS3 title out this week is Days of Thunder: NASCAR Edition ($10). The racing title lets gamers take on some of the game's finest racers, including Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart. The game also boasts single-player as well as online game modes.
On-the-go gamers looking for something new can grab Ys: I & II Chronicles ($25) today from the PSN. A remake of the first two installments in the Falcon RPG series, Chronicles also boasts four difficulty levels and a time trial mode for gamers to try their hand at.
A full list of the week's deals and new PlayStation Store content, including themes, wallpapers, demos, discounts, and add-on content, is available on the PlayStation Blog.
@warhawk-geeby, alright, then you're going to notice a lot of changes to the way the game feels. I mean a lot. It still plays essentially the same. But it feels a lot faster, almost hack and slash fast, and it's very stylized as well. I didn't like it very much at first, but it's growing on me.
@fetusfart18 No I haven't, i do plan to though. I'm hoping it's good because I did really enjoy the first one. Charming name by the way :p
I'll pick up Yakuza 4 anyway. Dragon Age 2 I'll wait for it to be patched and Space Ace, Ah! Dexter get me outta here! :) Remember in the arcades, this guy thought you had to move left, right etc like you were actually playing the game. He was ducking and diving at the machine trying to dodge laser fire, pressing fire, moving the joystick like crazy. It was sooooooo hilarious. He walked away like, but what did I do wrong. I just couldn't stop laughing. Such fond memories of that game.
dragon age 2 demo totaly rapes, really good demo i like how they changed the gameplay, so much faster and better, especialy when u play with the mage
The demos for DAII and Lego Star Wars III were up by 9AM Tuesday morning on XBL, while Sony took their good old time as usual, not seeing anything till at least 7PM EST. C'mon Sony! You can do better than that!
I find it ironic that Fallout's download is called Dead Money, 'cause that's exactly what your $10 will be. I killed $60 dead, buying their broken game!
DragonAge2 looks kinda samey to the last one.. I loved the first one. But this basically looks identical :/ I'd have hoped for a bit of a change at least.
I DLed and was expecting to play a level from the game not just the different fighting styles. But oh well, that game is a Day One purchase from me regardless 8)
Oh wow i didn't think the PS3 would get DLC for New Vegas this soon, i was sure maybe in a year like they did to the original game. This is cool!
wow i cant belive that idnt say anything about xenogears, a very popular and great rpg, sum would even say the best rpg, but anyway sony finally a very good tuesday psn update, keep the ps1 classic rpgs coming!!!
We finally got Xenogears yesterday! One of the greatest JRPGs on the PS1. It's definitely a classic.
That's a good list of stuff. I'm going to be busy these next few weeks with mvc3 and kz3, these demos, and my backlog of games.
Also, if you're thinking about getting Dead Money, do your research. Theres a high probability you won't like it.
