Pokémon retains its Top Sales Spot
The rest of the industry continues to play catch-up to Pokémon in terms of sales.
PC Data has released the console sales charts for the holiday week of December 24 through 30. Nintendo's Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver have been the best-selling video games for several weeks, and that trend continues in the latest charts. Infogrames' Driver 2 crept ahead of the PlayStation version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Final Fantasy IX, although both of those games showed strong sales. The PlayStation 2 made a return to the charts with Madden NFL 2001, which held the seventh spot. Once again, there were no Dreamcast games on the overall sales chart.
