PS3 sales hit 525,000 during Black Friday

Especially since the 360 is the only thing that HAS LB/RB, and I initially said "bumpers/triggers aren't mushy" referring to the 360s pad. If anything the bumpers don't have enough give, but they don't need as much as L1/R1.

I have no problem using the original PS3 charge cable, sure I wish it was longer but I can still play with it or just charge when I'm not playing. Not exactly a requisite like a rechargeable battery is on 360, or lots of AAs. Same thing with using an adapter to use your personal fav controller on PS3, that's an option not a requirement.

The LB/RB are fine, tiny bit of squishy but since it doesn't effect or interfere with pushing the buttons in any way it's not a problem. It's more natural to push the bumpers on the PS controller then it is to maneuver your fingertips on the 360 bumpers.

Not sure why you're comparing PS3 bumpers to 360 triggers.

 @Meta-Gnostic  @digi-demon Well, the quality may be different with different batches, all I know is I only have had one rechargabe battery in 7 years and i play the hell out of it. I got hidden costs on the ps3 as well; had to buy a decent length usb cable for charging, and a cross battle adapter to use the better controller ;) But, I don't know how you can say that LB/RB aren't squishy, they're objectively less resistant than the triggers on the 360 and so are the analog sticks, but I just like more resistance in my controllers.

 @jessica73  @digi-demon So you paid $20 for a P&C, another hidden cost. You know what I bought 2 different MS batteries and one died in 1 year and the other died in a month. PS3 ain't mushy.

I like 360's pad more because it has concave analogs, the left analog in the primary position, isn't super small bumpers/triggers aren't mushy,  and has real triggers out the box without modification

 @digi-demon Actually PS3 is the better controller after you add dual triggers to it. The 360 controller's digital pad is horrendous right up there with the worst ones of all time. The dead zone is larger on the 360 analog sticks, making it less precise. Precision is a good thing, hello mouse! The bumpers on 360 are inferior, it feels much more unnatural to reach them. There is a hidden cost, tons of AA batteries or MS rechargeables for minimum $20 that will last you a year if you're lucky. 

Better online? I own both and I see no difference other than cross game-chat and Gold fees.

Smoother faster gameplay all dependent on developers. Games look best on lead platform, and PS3 is often the lead platform. Not every game requires mandatory install, and the file sizes are small enough, and it often improves load times, and guess what Sony sells their system with a larger hard drive than MS.

If it's screw the native res then that means you get 1080p on either console, whether it be your game system or tv doing the upscaling.

Load times vary by game some are better on each system.

I've had just as many updates on 360 as on PS3, maybe a few more small OS updates on PS3 than 360 but don't have to deal with PS3 completely redesigning the dashboard every 2 years like MS does with long updates and having to relearn everything for no reason but for them to design it to push apps a few years ago and kinect just recently. 

Massive game catalog? Multiplatform games come to both systems while PS3 has more exclusives and almost as many PSN games and has PS1/PS2 classics.

X360 has a better controller, better online experience, smoother faster gameplay (smoother frame rates &less screen tearing) - no mandatory installs - all games output 1080p to my 1080p - screw the native res. my tv likes a nice 1080p signal - 720p looks compromised with jaggies etc. 

Load times improved - no constant updates to software that take an age to download and install - massive game catalogue - that enough? it is for me :D

Maybe you scratch what Sony PR have told you

I'm glad that you like your game console, I really am but when you try to imply that one company cares more about their customers than the other?  I got news for you, they don't care about anything but our money,  that goes for Sony, M$, & Nintendo.  Your loyalty to any one of them is misplaced

 @bakagami Have no regrets - admitt it was an unfortunate inconvenience - but  I'd pay it again as X360 is excellent games machine  - something a real gamer would understand - and would need in their collection ;D

 @digi-demon  @FireVixen  @Meta-Gnostic  @Sam-os_IMP actually, most of the game are exactly the same. occasionally there is a game that is better on one console or the other and of course there are the exclusives (it boils down to which each gamer likes better) but in the end, there is very little difference in the experience.

 @digi-demon trying to put words in my mouth? I never said anything about Sony's 1080p or the PS2's capabilities.  I was talking about how you payed for the same machine twice because of MS' RROD fiasco.  Sony PR didn't tell me that, you did

Every company hypes their console, but not every company rips you off with huge hidden costs and rushes hardware to market that they know will fail.  I guess if you like to waste your money for nothing then ok because you're paying more for less.

The reason you don't notice a difference in graphics, is that the 360 beat Sony in the timeline. 360 came out a year ahead of PS3, so the 360 won the hearts of the people and developers first. Because of this, most games are made for the 360 first, and then ported over to the PS3. Also, I believe the PS3 is a little harder to develop for. And it's not that the PS3 can't do 1080, because it can do that in it's sleep. It's that the developers that are porting their games over aren't including that functionality.

and go ahead and enjoy your superior online experience since you have to pay for it.  It is the only way that the 360 is superior.

I'm not trying to say that the PS3 is the best, they both have their pluses and minuses but you should really quit trying to convince ppl that the 360 is better just because you like it more.

only reason the 360 is doing better is that it came out first and was cheaper

and btw, I liked Sega too but lets face the facts, True, they had better games but their business model sucked and they failed, it's time to move on

 @Meta-Gnostic Oh and regards the 1080p statement - I wouldn't care about the resolution so much but my 1080p Plasma looks much better when accepting a 1080p signal - something Sony promised as standard and was touting as the Full HD Stick that they would beat MS's HD ready console with, when in reality only some of PS3's games will work in 1080p.

So again, I dont believe the Hype.

PS3 is still a great console and If X360 has got a Sony, Nintendo, Sega or NEC badge on it it instead it would still be No.1 imo - its mainly hats off to ATi for that.

I wasnt online at the time of my ist RROD - as you should know you keep the Hard Drive when you send X360 for repair. I put my 'old' HDD on the 'new' system.

I did lose some gamerpoints because the saves were locked to the system (DOA4). 

My Gamertag was stored on the HDD not the system memory. I now store my Gametag on a USB so its totally portable. I still have two X360's - an Arcade HDMI and a 250GB Slim - just in case - but imo its the games that matter and imo X360 PLAYS BETTER.

I also have a PS3, PS2, Wii, PSP,3DS,DSLite,GC, XBOX1, PC and several other retro consoles - get over yourself - I say it how it is - and your just going to have to live with that.

 @digi-demon  Ha so you wasted even more money, buying a 2nd 360 and then selling your used one all because MS rushed it to market knowing it would fail on you. Then you will go and try to claim how 360 has sold better than PS3 despite people like you having to buy multiple 360s.

Also, tell me this, how did you get your account onto the new console before you sold the RROD one? Did you have to start everything over and wait a month to get your saves back? Nope because you've been lying this whole time.

Ha only thing PSN doesn't have is cross-game chat. So keep throwing your money down the drain while I get tons of games from PS+.

PS2 is still the best selling console of all time (not including portables which can sell more easily due to cheaper prices), and PS2 is still regarded as being right up there with any console for best game lineup ever.

There are 1080p games, but developers also know that better graphics can be achieved with better textures, lighting, and effects than through resolution. 360 didn't get 1080p until after PS3 planned for it.

 @Meta-Gnostic  RROD? wait a month? hell no,  I just went out and bought another - sold the repaired unit when was returned to me by MS, and just got more great xbox games to play with the money I got from selling the repair unit. Simples :P

Oh and PSN sucks compared to Live so dont even try to convince me until you convince yourself on that one.

And too many exclusive PS3 games run @720p - Sony promised 1080p - imo they as such failed to deliver on their full HD gaming promises - no surprise really after they dissed the Sega Dreamcast and then went on to release PS2....

The reason some multiplatform games are worse on PS3 is because of developers just porting over games developed on 360 first. When they develop with PS3 as the lead platform the games look worse on 360. There is hardware upscale on PS3 and it is better than the 360's upscaler, especially for movies. 

You're a fool who pays for XBL Gold. You paid $50 for 2006-2010 ($250) and will pay at least 20011-2013 $60 a year ($180). Bet you bought at least a Play n Charge Kit as well ($20), and possibly an expensive wireless adaptor, and upgraded your expensive proprietary hard drive. So $400 + $250 + $180 + $20  ~$100+~$180= $1130 LOL!!!

Probably had to lose your 360 for a month waiting for it to get repaired because MS rushed it to market so they could launch during the holidays despite knowing there was a hardware issue that would be responsible for all launch era 360's getting RROD.

 @Meta-Gnostic  @digi-demon  @Sam-os_IMP No sweat, imo PS3 is still a cut-down (and overpriced) Blu-ray player that can play (some) decent (read mainly Sony exclusive) games - Thats why I still got mine - exclusives.

PS3 is not more powerful than X360 - the 99% of PS3 games that video out @  720p res. (read the specs on back of game cases please) - and no hardware upscale like 360 makes the system look more antiquated than X360. Poor multi-plat ports like Skyrim, Bayonetta and Fallout3 are another topic though...
