PS3 Tomb Raider Trilogy unearthed

A good deal? These can be picked out of the bargain bins for next to nothing. When is it news that a current gen game gets a trilogy re-release? Sly was news. That was truly fun (and remastered beautifully). But this? This is re-packaging.

I was hoping for the first 3 Tomb Raiders when I saw 'Tomb Raider Trilogy' Im not a big fan of the Later games in the Series, I was raised on Tomb Raider 1-5.

@Franzkill They said Underworld wasn't that good. They are building these from the ground up. It should be good hopefully much better then the previous ones. I just hope these 3rd party companies can actually make good HD remastered versions. As of right now I only trust Sony with making these HD remakes. I heard the Prince of Persia Collection wasn't that good. Sly Copper and God of War was amazing though.

Not a bad deal but thus begs the question why is Underworld included? Is that not in HD on the PS3/360/PC? Why does it need to be remastered? I thought they were remastering the ACTUAL first three Tomb Raider games before reading this article, just seems kinda premature for the two other games as well.

3 Tomb Raider games for the Price of 1 nice.

@Demonkingx5 The only thing I heard was one of Microsoft studios was supposedly making a Halo 1 remake. I really don't know since Microsoft wouldn't comment on the rumor. I'm sure they are aware of it the problem though is just the disk and the royalties fee companies would have to pay in order to put it on the 360. Thats the only reason why I see Sony has the advantage is simply because of Bluray. Hopefully Microsoft makes their own HD collection. Its a win for them and also a win for gamers to.

At first, I was only interested in the new reboot. With this coming to my chosen console, I may yet have to check out its predecessors - although I haven't heard the best things about Tomb Raider as of late...

They should really make more hi-def collections of Sony exclusives. Such as a Siren Collection, what do you guys think? We could have Siren 1, Forbidden Siren 2 (which never saw release here in NA) and Siren: Blood Curse (currently a PSN-only title in NA.)

Weren't these games already in HD? I've got all three already on 360 in HD. Were they just not released on PS3?

I'd recommend buying Legends today and forgetting Underworld and Anniversary. Two major reasons the franchise suddenly sank. Don't get me wrong, Underwold was okay; but was too slow to keep anyone's interest for long. Pace is very important these days.

It just keeps getting better for the ps3! This and Uncharted 3 and GOW series... and many more great exclusives.

I'm not going to lie, I really like these HD collections, especially of PS2 games. Which is why they need to make an SSX collection which would be perfect to release before the new SSX (how they did it with the gow collection and gow3)

When I saw this on here, I was expecting it to be the first 3 games in the series, somewhat like the God of War Trilogy and Sly Cooper Collection. Still, I like this idea and will probably get it whenever I get a PS3.

I was hoping for Tomb Raider 1/2/3,there is all ready HD versions of those games out, Im sure it wont be well appreciated as Sly and POP.

@demonkingx5 Apparently from what I read its an exclusive deal only for Sony. I don't know the details behind it, but I do know that Sony get royalties for these HD remakes. Also Bluray helps a lot since its all stored on just 1 disk.

aww man just imagining a final fantasy 10 hd upgrade makes me feel all warm an fuzzy inside lol but seein as thats my favorite game of all time just thinkin about the possibility makes me so freekin excited an stuff i cant even explain, i mean square is always upgrading there older final fantasys so ff10 hd is a possibility!!

Awesome, I love these compilation packs. I don't see why more companies don't do this, think about it. Us fans want them, we are willing to pay for them, the game is already made, instead of making a new game all that has to be done is update the graphics and add trophies and then sell it. hint hint Naughty Dog, Insomniac, and Square Enix.

i say give us final fantasy 10 hd an ff12 hd, metalgearsolid 1-3 hd, devil may cry 1-3 hd an finally kingdom hearts 1-2 hd, and i think those would be best sellers an my day 1 purchases!

Come on release a jak and daxter one before these.

@Icehearted: Did you read the article? It has nothing to do with BC, or updating visuals. They're not re-releasing the PS2 titles with updates, they're basically proting over the 360 versions,which were already in HD to begin with. This is nothing like the Sly collection, or the upcoming Team Ico collection. Stop whining...
