ah this is fking bullshit, why can I get it on steam but not on console, what a load of bull, there are way worse games than this in AUS or NZ
PSN, Xbox Live versions of The Walking Dead not headed to Australia, NZ - Telltale
The publisher says the game's mature content has prevented the company from making any official release plans in AU, NZ territories.
Episodic content publisher Telltale Games has revealed that it has no plans to release the multi-platform zombie adventure game The Walking Dead in Australia and New Zealand, due to strict rating laws.
Posting on the official Telltale forums, the publisher indicated that it will not be releasing the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions of the game in either Australia or New Zealand. The game is currently available in all territories on PC and Mac, downloadable from Telltale's own site or through Steam.
"Sorry, but due to the OFLC ratings laws in Australia and New Zealand, and the fact that this is a mature game, we do not currently have plans to release the game there on consoles."
Currently, Australia has no R18+ rating for video games, and games are rated by the Australian Classification Board. However, New Zealand does have an R18+ rating for games, mandated by the country's Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC).
Telltale's The Walking Dead is a single-player episodic game that is based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series, and it exists in that universe. It stars Lee Everett, a man convicted of a crime but given a chance to redeem himself, albeit in a world infested with the undead.
GameSpot AU has contacted Telltale and will continue to update this story.
