Another game delayed. Keep pushing games back, thats all you game developers do. Why want to sell a game, why want to establish the 3ds as a serious platform? I feel stupid for buying the 3ds thing, absolutely no games worth buying or downloading. Damn it
Sega pushes ninja action game back two months to November 15 as spatial puzzler release date slides to February 21, 2012.
It has been a bad stretch for the 3DS's third-party software lineup. Last week, Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy was confirmed dead. Yesterday, Capcom announced the outright cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3, and Sega followed that news up today with delays for two of its 3DS games, Shinobi and Crush3D.
Shinobi is now slated to debut November 15, while Crush3D has been pushed all the way back to February 21, 2012. Both titles had previously been announced as September releases.
Developed by Griptonite Games, Shinobi will follow Jiro Musashi, the father of the original Shinobi, Joe Musashi. The game will combine side-scrolling levels with 3D action sequences to pit the titular assassin against a variety of threats, from helicopters to henchmen. Sega is also promising a new combo system merging melee, ranged, and acrobatic attacks, as well as the return of Shinobi's distinctive ninja magic and support for the 3DS StreetPass feature.
As the name suggests, Crush3D is a three-dimensional follow-up to Sega's 2007 PSP game Crush. Crush3D's primary puzzle mechanic sees gamers navigating an intricate world by swapping between 2D and 3D fields of play. Through the "crushing" mechanic, players will be able to expand and collapse the gameworld, allowing them to reach seemingly impenetrable areas or heights.
wow this sucks. i mean i know that first party games are all awesome but the third party support is lacking. theirs only two third party games that i know kingdom hearts and resident evil.
I think in hindsight Nintendo released the 3DS too early they should have released it at a later date (maybe in the autumn or winter of 2011 for the more lucrative X-MAS season) where there would be far more initial release games available along with 3rd party games coming across to consumers being released more sooner.
Wow, the 3DS is getting in a lot of trouble. With so many games being canceled, Assassin's Creed, Saint's Row, MML3, that EA gardening game, I heard BloodRayne is gone, DJ Hero might get canned soon, and now games get delayed left and right, suddenly that huge library and support showed at E3 last year suddenly looks so much smaller... The 3DS can't survive on a Zelda remake alone. It needs more support! Get in Pokemon there!
@zaiwen: Those who disagree with you are wrong and just fanboys....that is totally logical and rational (NOT!).
And the Nintendo cycle continues. I love Nintendo but for those still unaware, let me indulge you on the recent history. (i.e lets see how long before everyone thumbs me down without realising its a joke) Step 1 : Nintendo slow down first party support on a console to begin hype for the 'Next Big Thing' (not always a new console, but most of the time it is) : Nintendo Fan says "Oh its ok MAN doesn't that new console look great!" Step 2 : After 6-10 months of waiting Nintendo release a (insert donkey kong, zelda, mario, metroid, starfox here) game to appease the masses of disappointed fans still waiting : Nintendo Fan says "WOW YEAH! I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS IN LIKE YEARS WOO YEA DOOD - don't diss Nintendo $ONY, M$ LOSERS!" Step 3 : Nintendo drop quiet again... : Nintendo Fan says "Haha I'm still enjoying my game, its cool, third party support isn't so bad - theres some Japanese imports to play" Step 4 : Nintendo jump out with a huge list of awesome titles for their new console and pre-orders begin : Nintendo Fan says "AAAAAAW YEEEAH TAKE MY MONEY - ZELDA STARFOX YEAH" Step 5 : Console comes out. Big First party game released soon after : Nintendo Fan says "ZEEEEEELDA OCAAARINA...etc etc" Step 6 : Nintendo go quiet again whilst they count their money, the quiet time causes launch games to drop off the face of the planet, delays and cancellations ensue : Nintendo Fan says "Its...its ok...I'm still enjoying Zelda...I am...honestly" Wait 10 months Go back to step 1 and repeat. Nintendo Fan says "I hear Nintendo are working on the 3DSi XL!!!"
While I am getting suspicious about all these cancellations and delays, fortunately, I still have plenty to do on my 3DS. I'm not kidding, either. Just give the system some time before judging it; it just launched. In a few months, things will pick up quickly. DS had a similar start as well.
Well I would rather the delay than they release a crappy game, but they are playing a dangerous game, if they run into the brick wall of Star Fox, Mario, Mario Kart and Kid Icarus at the end of the year.
These third party developers suck. Don't say you're going to make a game and then back out. I'd rather you just not say anything and surprise us than basically lie.
Dang. Dang dang dang. Crush 3D sounded awesome, but now that it's getting pushed back even further than Cave Story... Idk man. Hopefully it turns out to be worth the wait.
These games don't look like they're going to be all that good, anyway. The 3DS has plenty of other stuff on the way.
Shinobi needs more time for sure, right now it looks too bland. The devs need more time to put detail into the cell-shaded look.
Well at least they are working on making them better and still releasing them (better than I can say for Capcom). It is a sad chain when 3rd party titles wimp out...one title (such as Assassin's Creed) cancels and then other titles wimp out in their footsteps because they think that people won't buy that system now (not realizing that the more titles that are canceled, the more chance players will purchase their game instead) and there ends up being little 3rd party support with only a few out from the companies that had enough courage and common sense to remain in the market.
well to be honest these are two games i didn't care for but it still sucks to see them get pushed back.
The end of the year releases will pretty much force me to wait until much later to pick up these 3DS games, i'd rather be spending my cash on the big console releases around the holidays.
First a lot of games like saints row, bomberman were cancelled some time ago, yesterday mm legends canceled, and now these games delayed? What's next? I'm happy I don't have a 3DS :D
That's commercial suicide. There is so few games in September that I'm sure that 3DS owners (myself included) would pick atleast one of these. Now I won't be getting Shinobi until 2012.
