Harmonix and MTV Games' band-centric music game is released this week next to Call of Duty bundle, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, Capcom's Mega Man Zero Collection, and Konami's MSG: Peace Walker.
May and its hard-hitting release schedule has come and gone, passing the torch to headshots, power chords, golf clubs, and a Blue Bomber to usher in the first full week of June. With the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo and the official start of summer right around the corner, gamers looking to relax have a number of options this week.
One of the most anticipated releases this week is Harmonix and MTV Games' next band-specific music-game installment, Green Day: Rock Band. Following up The Beatles: Rock Band from September 2009, this pop-punk-themed rhythm game arrives June 8 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. The game has 47 tracks on disc and features locations from the band's storied career, including intimate club venues and large concert halls.
For wargamers looking for more Call of Duty beyond last week's Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack, Activision releases Call of Duty: The War Collection also on June 8. The three-game compilation includes the Xbox 360 launch title Call of Duty 2, the 2006 follow-up Call of Duty 3, and the franchise's most recent WWII shooter, Call of Duty: World at War, all for $59.99.
Portable gamers also have a lot to look forward to this week as two established franchises release new titles. The Mega Man Zero Collection--a combination of the four Game Boy Advance Mega Man Zero games--arrives June 8 next to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Konami and Hideo Kojima's long-awaited PSP title available on the same day.
And for sporting fans, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 hits shelves this week. For the first time, Woods won't be the only golfer adorning the game's cover. Joining Woods on the box will be Northern Ireland's 21-year-old standout Rory McIlroy, effectively marking EA Sports' decision to include Ryder Cup play in the newest game. Additionally, the 2011 simulator will make use of Sony's motion-control technology, PlayStation Move, once the controller launches later this year.
Other notable titles debuting this week include Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for the PC, Disgaea Infinite for the PSP, and the headshot-happy Sniper: Ghost Warrior on the PC and Xbox 360.
For further details on the week's games, visit GameSpot's New Releases page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later in the week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.

Di*k Head F**k Face C*ck smoking mother F**king A**hole Dirty Tw*t waste of semen i hope you die HEY! -Platypus (i hate you) by Green Day
Also it gets me another use for my PSP other than an MP3 player, haven't bought a game for that since Resistance: Retribution.
Finally Peace Walker comes out, huge fan of the Metal Gear Saga, played all of them and have all of them (Except for the originals, don't have them yet) .
Is there still the Peacewalker PSP bundle with the green PSP? That article a while back got me thinking.
A rather interesting line-up. It's been a long while since the PSP got a high profile game so maybe Peacewalker will help the PSP erase some of the lagging sales compared to the DS. Green Day is probably more well known but I don't think its going to sell particular well seeing as how the music rhythm genre has become much less popular. I think most people are just going to wait for the Rock Band 3 (the proper sequel) and buy that when it comes out during the holidays this year. And Tiger Woods PGA tour seems nice, I mean that was the first game that really showed off wii motionplus. I wonder why EA isn't allowing optional natal controls on the 360 version?
Wow, my comment got marked down for noticing the typo in the article. XD I didn't know seeing mistakes can offend people. XD
I might dust off the the PS3 and get Joe Danger for my nephew to play but the only game im looking forward to in this list is Sniper: Ghost Warrior for PC.
Awwwwww for a second, i though that megaman zero collection was for PSP... I liked that games. Well, Peace Walker for me, that game looks SICK!
Sniper: Ghost Warrior will be quite good. Also Earthworm Jim comes out for XBLA this week........that is a must get. \ \ Greenday will be OK and MGS Peacewalker.......well that will be amazing.
MGS is my favorate series non of the metal gear solds have ever disapointed me except well the stupid MGS acid but that doesnt count haha and green day doesnt look to bad and implus im getting more songs for RB2 ne ways so who cares :)
Finally, FINALLY a new PSP game worth buying. I'll now have a reason to put down the PSone games for a while and give the old UMD drive a workout. Thank you, Peace Walker.
Joe Danger on PSN! I can't wait. Meh to everything else although if I owned a PSP I'd be pumped on the Mega Man Zero collection.
This week is like the hangover of that incredible party of last month. I'm still trying to recover from Red Dead and Alan Wake both of them were incredible.
Well, they fixed the mistake... Peace Walker is a PSP exclusive... Those of you that want MGS for your PC, wait until MGS: Rising. I know I'm waiting... ;)
Looks like we can finally dust off those old PSPs, boys. My v.1000 is finally gonna get a little air and sunshine. The last game I bought for it was Portable Ops eons ago. I knew I kept it around for something, can't wait for peacewalker.
I find it hilarious that some people on this thread actually believe that Peace Walker is coming out for the PC, given the fact that no info exists for the game on such a platform.
Peace Walker is coming to PSP not PC.:P Anyway can't wait to pick up the collector edition for the game on Tuesday.:) It going to be a awesome game.
About the only game worth anything in this list of releases is MGS Peace Walker.....assuming one owns a PSP, I don't so whatever lol
