Skyrim dubbed most played game of 2011 by Raptr

meh...NPC's are still robotic and unfeeling. I had one quest where i was in a shop after just completing a quest for him and his assistant kept repeating "you have to leave" over and over again, like a dozen times while i was talking to the shop keeper for a hopeful reward. (apparently it was after hours.)

@moviequest14 Seriously, I agree. I have only ever seen you posting about how 'awesome' Zelda is and how great Nintendo are. There not even in this article! If your going to say Zelda, a 16 game fanbase, has more fans than Skyrim, one game, then your logic is poor at best. Average out the amount of people who ahve gone off Zelda, matured to other games, and the dilution of this over 16 games and 25 years, the Zelda fanbase would be minimal compared the large amount of people enjoying Skyrim in the few months since its release. The immaturity of EA staff is not worth mentioning. The idea is that they have listened to the consumer of video games, and know that CoD needs to be taken down a peg, and that Activison needs to realise that it is not the be all and end all of video games. The reason that the CoD campaign is short, or why any FPS campaign is relatively short, is that the focus is making the multiplayer the best they possibly can. It is unrealistic to compare any RPG storylength to that of an FPS or action game. Seriously, just once consider the utter crap you come out with before you type.

@Phatjam : I continually support my statement about EA with Battlefield,you see more press articles about EA bashing CoD than supporting your own game.I also still stick with my statement that CoD is pretty immature/not true gaming.The fact you pay $60 for a 3 hour (or less) campaign is pretty abysmal..so what you are paying for isn't really a full game but multiplayer that isn't even full multiplayer but a basic multiplayer with loads of dlc maps put on.If you do think that Skyrim has a bigger fanbase than you are in denial...do you think every zelda fan out there purchased Skyward Sword? Zelda has had 25 years and 16 games to build up fans.That doesn't mean Skyward Sword/Legend of Zelda as a whole is better than Elder Scrolls/Skyrim (both have positives and minuses,Zelda exceeds with a smoother,less-bug ridden game and experimentation with unique artstyles while Skyrim excels in a massive/detailed world and fantastic graphics for what it is aiming at).I think Skyrim is an excellent game and is on the same level of quality as Legend of Zelda,don't believe me if you want,I couldn't care less.

And what are you talking about there are more Zelda fans than Skyrim? If that was the case Zelda should outsell Skyrim correct? But that isn't the case. How bias can you get here? Then you basicly crap all over CoD and its fans. Now I'm not a big fan of CoD single player because I do not like the storytelling methods. But to claim it is not a good game again shows your bias. @Phatjam98 : If you are going to try to insult me be original with it,3rd exact same zelda insult in a row.I never said there weren't fanboys and idiots that play Zelda..there are plenty..in fact probably more than Skyrim..but there are more fans of Zelda so it pretty much evens out.Call of Duty? The topic here is immature fanboys of mature and GOOD games :P I honestly don't know of any time at all I have EVER seen Resident Evil fans bashing Dead Space and the only time I see halo fans bashing CoD it is whenever everyone (halo-fan or not) is.CoD and Battlefield are both examples of some of the most immature gaming out there...even ea spokespersons are immature (spending more time bashing CoD than advertising their own product).Of course you would expect their fans to be immature.It isn't quite as much that as it is the reverse,how few incredibly mature comments there were..if there are millions upon millions of skyrim fans and the immature ones are in the minority how come the comments were 75-85% in the majority in immaturity?

I just can't believe this game caps at lvl 50. I'm at lvl 38, but this game is so huge and my quest list is so long I feel like I have hardly done anything yet.

If you cared so deeply about the other games you mentioned you would see your argument is null. Portal would be one exception because it is a very special and specific game. It is a puzzle game and it really doesn't have a rival. Every genre of games has these types of comments and fans. Seriously get over yourself. Again, 100's or even 1000's of fans does not a majority make. Do yourself a favor, either stop posting or go into Halo or CoD or BF3 boards and tell me you don't see even more on those pages. So what they are really saying is the award is for the most time spent on a PC or 360 game. It is unfortunate that they were not able to get the PS3 or Wii data as this does not really show an accurate representation of what people have played in total.

@huerito323 they brought back a lot of stuff from morrow wind & oblivion only thing missing is flying, enchanting arrows, weapon repair and barter control. it has a lot more features than oblivion had and some new stuff

keep in mind that this doesn't include the PS3. This automatically ignores PS3 Dark Souls players, Uncharted 3, and a slew of other games.

I think it's quite a misleading title to give a game, I assumed it meant 'most played' as in the majority of people were playing that game, but instead it's people that have the game are playing it alot. I feel this is quite irrelevant to how good a game is because the genre of games depend on how long you play it (providing it's good of course). Since Skyrim is an RPG people spend many hours on it, compared with say MW3 where you can play it 10 minutes a day. Take angry birds, that is one of the most recognised andriod game, but people don't spend as many hours on it compared with say an rpg on the andriod. Does this mean the rpg is better, no of course not.

@shadowhunter0 just because you haven't encountered game breaking lag does not mean that the game is not broken, most of us are facing it and its simply frustrating to see Bugthesda's PR coming out and splatter nonsense on twitter after releasing a broken game (I cannot believe they didnt know about the problem before release)...I am not some stupid skyrim fanboy who will love the game despite being unable to play it!!! Skyrim PS3 is BROKEN!!!

the ps3 version of skyrim isn't broken I have put 200+ hours into it I have seen some bugs and glitches which is expected in a game this size and none of them were game breaking

I was about 40 hours into Dark Souls when I got Skyrim on the release day...I am still about 40 hours into Dark Souls.......

@moviequest14 So you think 100+ is more than a select few? You do know that 3.4 million copies were sold in the first 2 days right? So... that would mean even 1000 comments are a select few. Any objective person can see that. They also can see that any boards online are filled with loud mouth immature idiots that love to spout off. I would guess that quite a few of those comments were just made by young immature kids that are excited about Skyrim and took their comments too far. The fact that you've let the select few, or the loud minority, effect you in such a way shows either a hyper sensitivity on your part or immaturity yourself.
