Bought Sniper: GW on Steam for $5 last week. I'm surprised that its really a good game. Don't know what people were talking, but its really well polished and developed. Definitely a solid 8/10. I got more fun out of it than CoD:BO.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior sequel inbound
City Interactive chief producer confirms follow-up to coolly received original; will run on CryEngine 3 and be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Early last month, Polish publisher City Interactive announced it would use the Unreal Engine 3 and the CryEngine 3 to power two of its upcoming shooters. Now, the company has shed some light on how it'll use the latter.
In an interview with Eurogamer Sweden, City Interactive chief producer Michal Sroczynski announced that Sniper: Ghost Warrior is getting a sequel powered by Crytek's CryEngine 3. The boss told the site that unlike the original--which landed on the PC and Xbox 360 at launch--the follow-up will also hit the PlayStation 3.
As for the studio's Unreal Engine 3 title, few details are available. However, last month City announced it formed a new studio in London and tapped Stuart Black (Black, Bodycount) to lead the team.
The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior arrived in June for the Xbox 360 and PC. It received middling reviews, and the headshot-happy title is expected to land on the PS3 next month. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's review of Sniper: Ghost Warrior.
