Hope he does a better job than the last guy. I mean 75 million accounts information leaked due to a flaw in PSN security that Sony knew about and didn't fix is a BIG deal. Then to wait days after the information was stolen to inform their subscribers that their credit card information was gone???? Wow talk about arrogance and stupidity. Then you've got the Sony Defense Force that thinks PSN is still the best thing since sliced bread??? Wow I mean, wow. Talk about blind foolish loyalty. It's laughable really. I mean did the parents of these kids even know what was going on? Probably not. Sony Defense Force, ready to put our Credit Card and all our personal information back in again!!! YEAH!!! @Vodoo I think its because Stinger was a loser who gave himself an eight million dollar a year income at the same time Sony lost money for five years and had its credit down graded. Your saying that Sony chose an incompetent westerner to head their company because their Japanese choices for company heads were incompetent. Kaz Hirai will only help Sony.

They just didn't want a westerner (read:non-asian) as the head guy of the company. The japanese are a very traditional culture and having Sir Howard as the front-man of Sony Corp. isn't the "customary" way to do things in Japan, for a huge japanese company. They probably put Howard in place until they had a qualified japanese guy that could fill the roll.

Hopefully, he can turn Sony around. Their games division is actually doing fine, but the rest of the company is doing pretty bad.

I don't understand why Stringer is still in the company. When you are losing money for several years in a row, you need to go. Sony needs to kick that incompetent man totally out of the company if they want to return to profitability.

@Soothsayer42 So...you are thumbing me down...for saying congratulations to the new Japanese President of a Japanese company in Japanese seeing as I live in Japan and speak Japanese I thought this was a fairly safe thing to do, shows how many ignorant people are on this site. 15 thumbs down, sad. just sad. @Lhomity Close, but, San is not as appropriate as you think, seeing as you don't know him personally or even work in his company, Sama (hell, if i go to the hospital I am a Sama) would be more appropriate as he is of a much higher social status than us, (unless of course you are a company president as well) I used the word Shachou (meaning Company President) because it seemed appropriate seeing as he is becoming just that.
