@WolfGrey I already have Persona 4 and the MGS games for the PS2 so I am not super excited for those but I wouldn't mind getting them during a sale or price break like I did the God of War collection for the PS3 but if I am buying another copy of the same game it has to be cheap for me. I am really looking forward to the Resistance game though because I know I am in the minority but I prefer it over Halo. I just want some confirmed announcements maybe a confirmation of a Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, GTA, Final Fantasy, or something and I know a lot of those are rumored but I would like to hear a release date even if it is pushed back.
Company's Web broadcast on March 9 will take wraps off new games for portable; info about upcoming titles and services also promised.
Gamers are only a week away from learning about new PlayStation Vita games. Sony will hold a Web broadcast next Friday, where it will reveal new titles for the portable, according to an Andriasang report.
The event--titled "PlayStation Vita Game Heaven"--will be held next Friday, March 9, at 8 p.m. JST, or 3 a.m. PST, and can be streamed from Sony's official site. According to Sony's announcement of the event (translated by Andriasang) the broadcast will offer information concerning unannounced PS Vita games, upcoming titles, and PS Vita services.
On top of that, Sony said game creators will be on hand during the broadcast.
No specific titles were mentioned, but earlier this week Sony said it had 70 PS Vita games in the development pipeline. The PS Vita was released in Japan on December 18, with a subsequent arrival in North America on February 22. The system sold 1.2 million units worldwide as of February 26.
@SopranosFan Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to Vita, Metal Gear Solid HD edition, Persona 4 Golden will probably come stateside. Resistance Burning Skies is on the way.In 3 days no less, same with Reality Fighters which actually looked quite promising.
Anything new on this? Anyone, anyone. I know it is in Japanese but I would like some news on games coming stateside because I need something to play besides Uncharted and PSP games.
How come it wont let me go to the live stream so I can see the 70 games they are announcing??? Not happy :-(
I know there's going to be a Naruto game eventually but I'm just hoping it happens this year! Also I want to see a AR YU GI OH game!!!
Out of those 70 unannounced games, I'm sure that there will be at least a few that I will for sure get my hands on!! Bring on Friday!!
Hey Gamespot, Why dont you work on reviewing the rest of the launch titles before you get excited about new games. I used to alway check here before IGN for reviews, but your Vita coverage has been sorely lacking.
what i want them to show me right now are reasonable prices for those memory cards. they may announce games i would love to have next week but i will not be suckered to buy the vita with those sticks costing so much. those things probably cost a buck to manufacture in china. enjoy you "success" sony.
Come on, announce Monster Hunter for the PS Vita already!
im sorry but why wouldnt it work to play ps1 games on vita/ps3? that already exist for psp - so its nothing new... i am curious however what games they got coming up - hopefully jrpgs and new games that take thouchscreen and new functions into use cause if u got tons of new functions on a console - use it! dont just port games or put ur ps3 series into portables - i want fresh new stuff and ideas! thanks but i play my lovely uncharted on a fullscreen ps3 and made by naughtydog instead of the vita version cute lil boxes for the games though
@Lykanthrople What games were out on the 3DS that were better? The Vita has Uncharted which is a great game, and series. The first real game that made the 3DS a good console was the remake of Legend of Zelda which took MONTHS to come out. Remember 3DS had to wait a month for Eshop (after the UK launch), the Vita had PSN from the get go. The 3DS needed an update for the interwebs. The vita came shipped with it. The 3DS took just under a year (by a few days) to get it's first demo from eshop. The Vita was shipped with over 6 demos. The 3DS had 3 extra titles released within the 6 days of launch, and they weren't amazing titles. Rabbids time travel, combat of giants, and Madden football. Sony needs time to release stuff, the handheld has been out about 2 weeks in the UK, and USA. Nintendo didn't do much in those two weeks, so they aren't on great grounds. As I pointed above they didn't even have all the features on the device from launch.
I'm glad to hear about this. I was looking into the PS Vita wiki to see a huge amount of games for the Ps Vita, but there was none that seemed to be a soon to release title. I'm excited to hear what titles are going to be on the shelves soon. As my Vita is a great piece of kit, but it's just lacking the games. I bought FF7 PSX in hope I could play it on the vita. I can with remote play, but it isn't full screen which is hard to read the text with my poor eye sight. So I'm hoping with this program Sony are doing, they will confirm the update in remote play with Ps3 games, and the Psx emulator.
Glad that this is happening. Looking at the release schedule there's nothing too exciting coming up til Gravity Rush.
sony better bring them fast, 3ds have so much better games at this point. Vita already had a price drop, guess it will be under 200 ? by the end of the year. Maybe then some good games are available too - but sony needs better exclusive franchises.
@quicksilver_03 there is a disgaea game coming out for the Vita next month but its a port of Disgaea 3 with all DLC included and 2 extra chapters
I look forward to being able to play console-quality adaptations and crossovers like Bioshock, Tomb Raider, or Batman: Arkham City on the go. The PSV has a lot of potential...
since people have gone have disliked my previous demand for games lemme go ahead and piss more people off by increasing the wish list. Onimusha, God of War, Sly, Jak & Daxter, Rachet & Clank, Resi evil, Tekken, MGS, limbo, DOA, Uncharted multiplayer, Burnout, Killzone, PS2 titles from SEN, DMC, Tomb Raider, One Piece game, Hitman, you tube compatibility.
if they say there making an MMORPG that is similar to guild wars or SWTOR i would be set. I wish they would make guild wars 2 for the ps vita.
can't wait for what they will announce, it's less than a week but feels like several weeks away. I hope for something great from Sony, as usual :)
alright so, final fantasy, dust514, a sixflags magic mountain game (lol that would be awesome.) MAG2 for vita, cod, and cross system games.
Well it would be entirely possible even with just the current 32gb cards but it'd be largely unrealistic to expect a company to make a game that requires an entire card justs to be stored. It'd be an interesting practice but I just think from a business perspective most games companies would question the sense of limiting there audience (less people willing to bu cards just for 1 game) and having to spend vastly more to achieve this (make enough content to fill those cards). After all it makes a lot more sense to make at most an 8gb game and have a wider potential audience. If we talk pie in the sky ideas then yes it's possible but it's about as likely as seeing a PS3 RPG that takes 4 blu-ray discs. There just gets a point where companies don't do it because the amount of production costs it would take to make a decent game of that size and with the vita not having the same possible resolution as the HD consoles to fill those 32gb cards would require ridiculous amounts of content. If we're just talking about ports then I guess ou have a point and it is possible, but I believe as was the point in the earlier parts of my post it's far more likely to see devs strip a game down just for the sake of having it fit an 8gb card just so to reach a wider audience. Now that we've talked about it though I am interested to see how many devs will do huge ports and stuff.
just to say that that my previous message wasnt all moaning, but id had to many characters to fit my message in so i decided to cut out my praise and leave me good points instead. true, i could have put them here within my 2nd message but i couldnt be botherd. just want to say though, believe it or not, i hate to moan i do!
had the ps vita freeze like me and had the blue flashing light, had to hold the power button for 30 seconds to reset it? same here, want that sorted out. also, want youtube working on the vita, c'mon sony give us a video player, youve had months to sort this out already, bet you already have and are holding back on us, bet you'll make a big deal of it when it happens and try to attract new customers with this great new function. we want it now, now now, oh, and skype too so we can chat online with our cameras too. ridge racer plays well but 3 tracks, namco you shbould be ashamed, unless more tracks become downloadable for free i swear i will NEVER buy another namco game, EVER! one more thing sony, im in my 30's, and while the bubble layout on the vita is nice and easy, i would like the option to change it to make it look abit more adulty shall we say. arrr, fell better now ive got some things off my chest. after all ive said i am loving my vita and the future looks promising, new quality games and a few updates to improve the system and who knows, the vita could rule the handheld market for a very long time. last thing sony, cut the prices of the memory cards (hope sony reads some of these pages) other wise i will only buy one once in a blue moon to use as game saves and buy all my games 2nd hand from ebay. downloadable games should be a lot cheaper, summats got to give or i wont be giving any more more doe to sony. YOUR CHOICE SONY.
Hey guys, i know this has nothing to do with the release of vita games but there is many coments saying remote play to enable psoneclassics. Well i was playing around with remote play last night on my vita and i thought "ill try playing my FFVII, VIII and IX classics and to my suprise they worked...along with my Res Evil collection!! Just to let peeps out there know.
id like to see current multiplat games go ported onto the vita, what i think would be epic for a handheld is skyrim vita, that would be like the perfect game for it, but hopefully some news on the killzone vita or maybe some rpgs?? whatever they announce im anxious to find out
@marlobc to late they have already announced that a cod game will be getting release later this year for the vita but I wont be getting it since I don't like cod games and they are for noobs and casual gamers
More RPG and Strategy game release and localize Japan versions too. I would be surprise if they're releasing big huge names and for that I will change my mind and buy the PS VITA asap. Final Fantasy, Tales, Star Ocean, Breath Of Fire, Grandia, Persona, Xeno, Disgaea, Wild Arms, anything...just make everyone happy. ^_^
@ViolentDJango you may have read it wrong. PSP2 is more noob friendly than MH. This does not mean that both cannot be hard. As you know PSP2 is hard if you have not leveled up. Cannot be played without a partner. I am going through MHFU right now and I love the game. But PSP2 allowed you to grind off line through the story mode and bring characters that you unlock with more customization of nearly everything. Both games can be equally rewarding if you take on a mission that you are not leveled for in either game you feel like you had to master the controls and weapons to survive. MH is more hardcore. NO lock on and all crafting to get powerful weapons. PSP2 is all about drops, classes, perfect blocks etc.... the lack of a jump is the only real level design fail on the series that PSO2 will address. If PSO2 is the template... I cannot wait.
Hopefully this fares better than the 3DS intially did. 3DS is now seeing a great range of quality games. Vita has...SOME good games at the moment, and with 70 upcoming we have a good chance at quality games with it's launch. I'm going to continue to hold out unless they announce something I must have, namely cause I need to save money for numerous reasons non gaming and gaming related. I need to be wowed.
the second monster hunter is announced, i am going to get in my car, drive to best buy, buy my vita, and preorder mh before preordering even occurs
I love all the flaming....I simply got Vita because of the dual analog sticks and it's region free!!! Like the psp! I get to import all my Macross and Gundam games. I hope they release some good old school socom games or clancy games so I can game during my luncho hour on my mini ps3. My beef with the 3ds is no dual analogs and the screen is too small!!! WHY??? So you can buy another one in a year??? That's BS!!! That should of just made the same as the Big DS. $250???? Right!!! I do think the Vita is worth the $250 for what you are getting.
Tell me something about Vita's Bioshock game. That will make me have a gamegasm and buy a Vita in the same second I hear a word about the game.
@huerito323 I know, but I mean I plan on buying one, which is why I apologized for the second post. It basically meant I was getting voted down for currently not having the money for one. I felt the need to point it out. I find it rather amusingly sad that people actually vote you down for being low on cash flow. I just felt the need to point it out... No one should ever look down on someone else for being low on cash at any time.
