Splinter Cell trilogy sneaks onto PS3 March 22

Hope the graphics aren't ps2 graphics but PC graphics (for chaos theory, don't care bout the other 2) because there was a significant difference.

better have spy vs merc or I wont purchase it

Good for PS3 users. To be honest they've been wanting it for a while so they deserve it.

@TheRedChannels I said I'd pay $25 max for this. $15 to cover the cost of getting the regular editions separately, and and I value the remastering at $10. I'm not a big PC gamer, but keep in mind you can get these games on the PC for dirt cheap. With any half-decent graphics card, you can make these games look superb. Plug in a controller and voila. On a side note, I'd love if they added the old-gen version of double agent. It was the better version IMO, and would make this an auto-purchase for me.

These 3 pack releases are great if you missed out on some games last generation. The Sly cooper pak, Tomb Raider Pak and now Spinter cell 3 Pak in HD. Sony and the publishers are just making more great "catch up on your gaming" 3 Paks. In HD on one Blu Ray. So if anyone is still wondering why Sony will never bring back BC of PS3 this is it. There is to much money to be made releasing and reselling old games remastered in HD or via digital download. Very few people hang on to their old games from past generation these days.

@TKandPBC You make a good point about being able to play the original 3 for $5 apiece now. But you wouldn't pay extra for having visually remastered versions on one disc? @popplayer22 That's a valid point you make. I don't know the technical specifics on that, but I do know that original Xbox games are around 2 - 3 gigs tops. Assuming the remastered versions make them take up more space - which I'm sure they will - 3 games would obviously be too much for an Xbox 360 DVD which I believe holds around 9 gigs. A solution to this would be to put them out on a dual layer DVD or a two disc set like Mass Effect 2, but that would only be justifiable from a financial standpoint if there's a major visual difference as well as extra content (such as the DLC's that were released for each game). In short, I know they won't do it. Which is why I feel so envious >_> I still have my copies of the original and Pandora Tomorrow but I never beat Chaos Theory and I only rented Double Agent. Conviction I rented but didn't like it enough to finish it; I sent it back to GameFly about three-quarters of the way through.

I hope they port the Xbox version of CT because the PS2 version of that game was truly laughable compared to the Xbox version. The PS2 version had piss poor graphics and chopped up levels. Other than that, looks like an awesome new triple pack for PS3!

Splinter Cell is amazing, I'd like HD versions for the 360 though

Ps3 is where its at. Great games all the time.

I still have the PS2 versions, but I haven't touched my PS2 since I got a PS3; Looking forward to HD versions. Hopefully they run smoother than Double Agent. As a PS3 fan, I will admit Splinter Cell runs better on XBOX. I'll also admit that the XBOX controller is better suited for Splinter Cell, maybe even 3rd person games in general. PS controller is still better for driving and FPS games

I wonder if the Kola Cell and Vselka DLC missions will be included?

I liked the first 2 but I hated Chaos Theory for some reason. Might be because I played the first 2 on Xbox but played Chaos Theory on PlayStation 2. I might pick this up depending on what version of the games they use and the price.

just bought them all off Half.com for not as much as the whole will be I'm sure... agreed XBOX versions looked better but still uber fun by far some of my favs... an updated HALO 1 and 2 that would make me happy.... Reach is beautiful!!!

Ohhhh man oh man oh man. This article 'sneaked' straight past my eyes! I WANT! Splinter cell games were some of the best games back in the day. If this comes with trophy support I'm deffo getting. Frickin love sam fisher and his husky voice. What a man what a man what a man what a jolly good mannn.

Well, this is good for those of us who hate what Ubisoft has done to the series, particularly with multiplayer... does anyone else smell some fresh meat on Chaos Theory multiplayer when this comes out? :) Especially with Xbox killing the servers for Chaos and Pandora.. Im pretty psyched about this. Some of the best news ive heard in awhile.

I really hope there the xbox versions of Splinter Cell, because the PS2 version where bad ports, Chaos Theory on xbox still looks great.

Sweet! I've been dying to play Chaos Theory again. My personal favorite of the series. And I've never gotten around to playing Pandora Tomorrow so that's another positive point.

All three are backwards compatible for the 360, each for $5 new. I enjoyed all three on my 360 a while ago, but for me to get this it would have to be $25 max.

Now why can't gamers be more gamers than Fanboys. Well Said MetalMan300. Gamers should criticize games publishers / developers and not what platform fellow gamers have. True gamers mostly owns all platforms. Splinter cell coming out for PS3 owners is a good chance for PS3 owners who never had the chance to play the game on the last gen consoles. Happy gaming :)

Interesting. On one hand, 360 still gets to keep Conviction, which is my favorite Splinter Cell game to date, but on the other hand I'm INCREDIBLY jealous that PS3 owners will get to play higher res versions of the older games (complete with the epic online multiplayer for 2 and 3). 3 games in one... not a bad deal! Have fun PS3 fans! :)

YES, finally an mgs collec...oh wait. The only one I'd want is chaos theory, and compared to its xbox counterpart, its level design and size in general was sad. I'd snatch it in a second if they made it like the xbox version but Im not holding my breath

@Bluespire1 It's rumoured that MS are going to remake the first Halo, using the same engine as Reach. 343 are supposed to be doing it, along with Halo 4.

So many memories playing the first SC so picking this up day one.

Meh - cheap Xbox port no doubt (same NVIDIA roots showing...). Anyhoo - who cares as if using the backwards compatability on the X360 negates the release of this collection on that system :D

Glad to see PS3 is finally playing catch up LOL. I get to play catch up as well seeing that I had a big period without a system. Glad to get a chance to get my hands on some classics. They need hurry up and announce the 360/PS3 re-releases of the first 3 GTA games as well. Lots of good stuff old and new next year. 2011 is going to be a packed year for the system looks like.

I'll buy this as long as it isn't the PS2 versions that get ported. The PS2 versions of the Splinter Cell games were crap compared to the Xbox and PC versions.

@soulless4now dont complain on the Bc it was a cost issue thats why they dumped it to sell the ps3 at a lower price.How many people you know would've bought a ps3 at 600$ to day in this economy

Ive been planning on getting another ps3 (had to sell my 1st one a couple yrs ago due to crappy economy) for a while now. These remake packages are such a cool idea. Things like this make it harder for me to wait on another console. :-P

These remake packs that the PS3 has been releasing are completely genius. Sure it's somewhat of a cashout, but they let me re-live fond memories of games I have lost or sold through the years, or try out new ones as well. I can't wait to try out Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for the first time :) These are going to be definite buys.

It would be kind of cool if this game was move compatible.

Chaos Theory is amazing and one of my favorites, a good collection but I have them on PC so I will pass.

Talking about remakes etc.. God of War 1 Challenge of the Gods was hard. Challenge 8 was difficult. Ended up quitting, then I found out it doesn't save your progress. So I started again.. got to Challenge 8..died many times; I thought those Medusa's were never going to stop appearing. Then I managed to get to Challenge 10...bam! I must have died like 60 times. My brother(fan of God of War) said to me, 'Glad I'm not doing that.' and I thought to myself, all for a gold trophy. Challenge 9 was a piece of cake compared to Challenge 10. Hmm..could do with some cake, anyway.. My brother left me to it and low and behold I did it. :) Now about God of War II Challenge mode..forget it! I'm outta here :) Oh and about Splinter Cell, agree 1 2 and 3 are the best.

@TheRedChannels I mean I don't know what the size of all three of the first Splinter Cell games, but I think it exceeds the capacity that a standard DVD is capable of. I think that's why all these new collections are remastered and put out on a single Blu-Ray for Playstation 3.

Nice!!!, Those were the best games in the splintercell series. Went downhill after Chaos Theory imo.
