Square Enix reveals Murdered: Soul Suspect

New Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC title "challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all."
Square Enix today announced an all-new game called Murdered: Soul Suspect. The project is due out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC and will have players solving "possibly the hardest case of all."
No developer or release date for Murdered: Soul Suspect was provided. It is possible the game could be from Eidos Montreal or Crystal Dynamics, both of which are currently working on unannounced projects.
A teaser website for the game went live today highlighting a myserious symbol. In addition, entering the password "Ronan" at the following URL yields a new screenshot showing a man who appears to be lying dead in a street. The shadow of another figure is featured over him.
The scene features an American flag, suggesting the game will take place in the United States, though the time period is not clear. In addition, there are several references to seaside activities, including fishing. A phone number is also shown in the screenshot with an area code of 725, which was recently approved as a new code for southern Nevada beginning in 2014.
In addition, the image properties for the screenshot above reveal further clues. They state the following:
O'Connor, male, mid-30s, 170lbs, 5' 11"

While the above is pretty interesting and all, over at Revision 3 games, they just reported that squareenix has just filed for a Legacy of Kain new name and IP, which suggests a new game could be getting developed if not already.
Ah remember the good ole days when vampires were awesome instead of wearing body glitter, and having stupid HBO soap operas.

Pretty much every other system - especially PC & Playstation - all except the 360 are sufficient and competent in that area. Again it all depends on what you want to play, but yes more would always be a welcomed treat.

Ghost Trick was a hard case. I would have never known who Sissel was if the end didn't tell me.
The shadow is the detective himself. The fight that he loses is with himself trying to stay on the good side of the law. Being a detective involves some kind of dirty work to get closer to the people you're trying to catch and got caught up in it all. Kinda sounds a little bit like Donnie Brasco when Johnny Depp gets close to Al Pacino even though he's a bad guy, but this seems more brutal. That's just my opinion.

@Mr_BillGates PC+upgradable = modern technology
XBOX/360+PS3+non-upgradable = outdated technology which has held back game innovation for 4 years at the least
GTA started on the pc, everyone knows by now any console game gets its ass kicked by the pc experience (bar some lazy ports), modding, tweeking graphics, no internet memberships, we'v had 3D gaming for years...should i go on?

@mkdoomfan2 @LE5LO Well, technically Square Enix did not exist at that point in time, it was Eidos+IO Interactive. I still think Square has steam in it, recovering from business strategy mistakes takes at least a few years and many vociferous gamers these days forget the simple fact that games take years to develop and a company getting kicked in the nuts for a mistake will only be able to fix their releases when the next batch of games enter the pipeline, the current ones would only be able to be fixed in a very limited way. In a market of plenty and with jaded entitled opinionated gamers getting anything done is quite an issue. I think Square learned its lesson at FFXIV, it just needs some time. Deus Ex was great, Tomb Raider looks great and this new game is intriguing, could be great too. Ultimately the fact that out of the generally good games we get throughout the year (a much larger amount this generation than in any preceding one I might add) there are only a handful of big standouts is something that has not changed since the dawn of the video game industry. Not giving a chance to new releases with barely any information out and then complaining there's nothing good coming is counterproductive, very highly destructive in fact.
29 Like @LE5LO It's going to be a grand day indeed when people learn the difference between Publisher and Developer. Square didn't develop Hitman Absolution, they merely published it. As for their recent Final Fantasy games, just how good they are is a matter of so many differing opinions that it's impossible to know which side is winning.
And just for the record, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal were a more than efficient combo with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. That game turned out pretty damn good, so I think they've earned some breathing room.

They pretty much exhausted their breathing room. They are operating with a loss and it seems that the only thing that does make money for them are REMAKES. Eventually you'll see remake off remakes.
I hope the new TR games is a huge success. So far only Deus Ex was their only hit these past 3 years.

If you used your own blood to write 2+2=4 doesn't change what terabytes of online data are saying, you have the right to have an emotional opinion but in stating it remain objective please!
1 Like Think of it this way. As long as Square Enix isn't developing it and is just sticking to the publishing side of things, chances are, the game will be good.
@SavoyPrimeNot so sure about that, I wouldn't hold my breath on I.O Interactive after Hitman: Absolution and it's too early to say that Eidos Montreal or Crystal Dynamics can deliver a good new I.P, but to each his own.
No they married a whole bunch of companies now, Enix included. The rest of the wives are Taitos (Lufia, Bust-A-Move, Bubble Bobble, etc.), Quest (Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre, etc.), Crystal Dynamics (Gex, Blood Omen, Soul Reaver,etc.) and Eidos (Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Dead To Rights, Hitman,etc.).
