Recent North American StarLeague Season 3 Champion Ilyes Satouri to leave French-based team Millenium on September 1.
StarCraft II player Ilyes "Stephano" Satouri, North American Star League Season 3 Champion and the most consistent non-Korean player of 2012 thus far, will have his current contract to the French-based team Millenium come to an end on September 1. Rumors have swirled on what Stephano's next move would be, with several teams--including his current one--making bids on the 19-year old Frenchman.
Millenium eSports Manager Jean-Marc "Bjoran" Gaudin has confirmed with GameSpot that Stephano has declined the team's offer, and will not be re-signing. Sources close to the situation tell GameSpot that Stephano will sign with Evil Geniuses, which was said to have made the most lucrative offer among the professional teams, with Millenium close behind. One team executive said it's "pretty much a done deal with Evil Geniuses".
Stephano will play his last event for Millenium at this weekend's Major League Gaming Summer Championships in Raleigh, North Carolina as the top-seeded Non-Korean player at the event. He has been with Millenium for the past four years, playing the majority of his Warcraft III and the entirety of his StarCraft II career with the team.
Last year, Stephano took part in a controversial new team signing that never happened. After signing a new contract and agreeing to terms with team Complexity, he changed his mind and went back to Millenium the very next day. After days of contract disputes from both teams, a settlement was reached, mediated by Evil Geniuses owner, Alex Garfield, stating that Stephano would stay with Millenium but would be penalized with a significant undisclosed fine.
The move would mark the third new and second marquee StarCraft II signing for Evil Geniuses in 2012, following the additions of Swedish star Marcus "ThorZaIN" Eklöf, and American upstart Conan "Suppy" Liu. Millenium will be making an official announcement shortly.
@voods07 Stephano is a top pro gamer. Evil Geniuses is a pro team, one of the top teams in the world :) He plays Starcraft 2. In the last year playing sc2 he's made over 100 000 dollars :) esports!
EG grabbin champions again sheesh. in all seriousness i stephano's image works really well in EG. gl to the frenchman.
Good luck to Stephano! By coincidence EG just signed another NASL winner? Cheers to whoever understands that....
While I think the "EG Curse" is a joke, I hope that Stephano continues to put all his focus on the game.
@SWFLM Lol not going to lie i hope Stepano doesn't slip, but you just never know when the curse will strike.

@Sturmfuehrer_ funny how you care so much about 100k for him and never even mentioned the 10m for football players...
@Sturmfuehrer_ but yea, slasher likes to pick ugly ass pictures that make pro gamers look bad on his articles.
@Sturmfuehrer_ you dont need good looks when you're 18 and make over 100,000 a year lol
@supwidit You know the world is f*cked when people make that kind of money without doing anything productive!
Like playing video games.. or gambling with other people's money on Wall Street!
Get a clue. The fact that you are here arguing with people on the internet clearly shows just how petty and ignorant you are. I highly doubt you actually did anything useful other than throw some chump change around to feel good about yourself. Stop talking and walk the walk.
@Sturmfuehrer_ You act like what stephano does is completely worthless when in fact he does entertain thousands of people. He deserves everything he has achieved and I have no idea why you think tis ok to say he doesn't do anything good with his life because hes not saving starving children or providing drinking water to needy families in Africa. He is doing much more productive things than any of us are doing typing on this forum, and the rest of us are entertaining ourselves, GREEDY AS FUCK I KNOW we should never do that but deal with it we want our entertainment. The only thing left is you, who doesn't sound happy about what he does or how much he makes from it so either you jelly son or you are just really bitter that he gets paid for playing video games which you (and I and most everyone here) will probably never get.
@Sturmfuehrer_ pics or it didnt happen anyone on the internet can say they helped india hell i went to vietnam last year to help some starving kids with only a kayak and a few bags of rice. You didn't do anything gg
@Sturmfuehrer_ Please go back to the red sea and I am not talking about a vacation with swimming trunks.
@mann0311 That wasn't even worth quoting!
@Kurobara3 I can imagine that sports used to be mostly about skill and challenge, until everything became commercialized.
@Sturmfuehrer_ you convenient didn't quote the entertainment being bad part. tsk tsk.
"Everyone should live in a third world country and be miserable"? Are you mentally challenged? How you got that from my comment is beyond me.
@Sturmfuehrer_ ok, i'm sorry. according to you entertainment is bad and we should all just go live in a third world country and be miserable.
please, go do something useful with your time since you claim to be such a helpful person going to third world countries eh? sitting here and arguing on the internet does nothing good for anyone. have fun wasting your time because i know i am.
@Sturmfuehrer_ except that he makes that kind of money becasue he is an entertainer....not a crook.
@alwaysdroning It's my opinion. I don't like this mentality! Sure, the guy is enjoying himself but blowing that kind of (ad-supported) money on something like that is ridiculous. Playing for money serves no purpose, other than promoting a product to the consumer.
@MachShot Walk the walk? Not that anyone here would care, but I've been to a couple of "3rd world" countries like the poorer parts of India and invested my own time and money in school furniture, utilities, food and wells for fresh water. And seeing the kids and families smile was worth far more than making 100k a year with clicking a mouse.
So, what did you do to help make the world a better place?
@Sturmfuehrer_ for fucks sakes, there are people who make hundreds of thousands to millions more than him doing worse things.
he competes at the top levels of an incredibly difficult strategy game. don't tell me you're going to complain about that. there's worse things to worry about than "oh my god someone playing a video game for money? it's the end of the world!"
@Sturmfuehrer_ And how many hours a week do you do volunteer work?
Walk the walk, Start with yourself first before you put down others.
With Zerg I could have won that one too. I am a Terran player, so I cannot win that easy. I always liked to play the "underdogs" race, like in real life where I am actually true dog.
@BlackSheepWalls Lmao, underdogs??? Are you serious, terran who was winning the vast majority of tournaments, and still beating protoss in tournament wins this year. You know the average win percentage going from 60% to 50% doesn't make terran the underdogs it makes them balanced. Protoss lowest golds in gsl and least yearly tournament wins, not saying protoss needs a buff just saying that stats disprove terran being the underdog. Seriously up until recently terran dominated code S and A and they were winning the majority of tournaments.
@BlackSheepWalls pffffff yea right when terran was so fking OP before the stim neft and everyone was still struggling against mmm. 'Underdogs' race indeed.
@Kudjuk Dont forget about Huk! he won mlg under the EG banner.
@HiVBedbuG True but each SC2 players won just after joining EG. So that EG training is not getting them better ...
@Kudjuk Puma won NASL season 2.
@Kudjuk thorzain won Sweden wcs
@paulin2p false statement bashing eg gets liked ... of course!
@Kudjuk IdrA won IEM Guangzhou! :]
