Street Fighter X Tekken hits PS Vita October 23

Capcom dates portable version of crossover fighter, retail version to come with codes to download 12 additional characters, new costumes for original roster.
The latest Capcom fighting game crossover's crossover to the PlayStation Vita finally has a date. The publisher today announced that Street Fighter X Tekken will debut on Sony's portable October 23.
The PS Vita version of the game will arrive in stores packed in with two download codes. One code will unlock 12 additional characters for the game (bringing the roster to 55), while the other--included only with the first production run of the game--will grant users alternate costumes for the 38 characters shared by the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions. On top of that, customers who preorder from certain retailers will receive yet another code to download alternate costumes for the 12 new characters. It is not clear which of these enticements will be included for players who download the game directly from the PlayStation Store, and Capcom had not responded to inquiries as of press time.
The 12 additional characters were originally intended to debut on the PS Vita, with console releases following in the weeks after the portable version's launch. However, hackers discovered the characters already on retail discs shortly after the game's March debut, and Capcom last week moved the dozen DLC fighters' release date up to July 31.
All DLC and save data for the PS Vita version will be transferable to the PS3 edition of the game for free. Additionally, the game features cross-platform play with its PS3 counterpart, and Capcom is promising unspecified new modes and features to take advantage of the PS Vita hardware, incorporating augmented reality, Near functionality, and both of the system's touch pads.

@RitsukoEX Haha, I think they want us to pay for that character at the first place, and since they learn their lesson at the previous incident (on disc DLC) then they just give it for free. LOL
i usually hate DLSs but because it's a new experience for the vita o wouldn't mindbut CAPCOM plz stop making a f___ing DLSs

I hope the extra characters are in the soft version - I don't do game cards. I have Uncharted on game card because it came with my Vita, but I'd prefer if that remained the sole occupant of my game card slot.
5 Like Wow so even with the Vita version you still need to download the hidden characters even though they were on the cartridge? This is a huge letdown.
As it goes, I think I'm going to trade it in (PS3). The game is pretty crap anyway and I hardly play it.
2 Like I'm extremely disappointed that some of the best characters from both games have been deliberately left out just so that Capcom can make even more money off a £40 game. If it were £25 and then you had the option to buy £15 worth of DLC then I wouldn't be complaining. Fact is Capcom have blown it with a lot of consumers and if they don't offer the DLC for free then I can't see a way back for them from this. Personsally I'm not buying any more of their fighting games let alone DLC.
1 Like If Street Fighter X Tekken can get released as the full game adding the extra costumes and extra characters then it would help. Better yet we should have free extra content if hackers can get away with it for free. In future they do not play as the easter bunny hiding the 'easter eggs' and letting the rabbit thieves take what they stole. I'm thinking twice about buying the extra content now...
5 Like As usual, Capcom misses the point. Whether these characters are on the disc or need to be downloaded is irrelevant. They should have been part of the full game to begin with.
can someone tell me did you have to pay for the dlc extra characters already on the disc ??
Or, the moment when people have an excuse to remind themselves why Capcom doesn't know how to deal with PR.
Could be a good offer, but I chose to buy the 360 version back in the console release day, so no codes for me... and no buy from me. Hopefully Tecmo or Sega will put their fighting franchises on Vita, I can wait.

1 Like @SuprSaiyanRockr You haven't been paying attention, have you? That's what the outcry was all about in the first place, that Capcom locked ALL this content on the disc. You don't have to download anything, you'll just have to access a 1KB file which tells the disc to let go of all the characters and costumes.

@branskamage Asura's Wrath dlc was definitely awesome, though that's one exception; there's still Street Fighter, Dragon's Dogma, SFxT, MvC3, etc.
1 Like Now watch, there will be an addition 6 hidden characters that will later be added to a 3DS version of something. It wouldn't surprise me.

4 Like whoa really so the gimp the console versions so that the vita can get the chars first only to delay it till the end of the year but not even include them on the game cart. Capcoms on a rool if you know what i mean.
