GamesCom 2011: New trailer for crossover fighter details new battle systems, expands roster with looks at aforementioned goliaths, speedy ninjas Raven and Ibuki.
Few of the potential matchups offered by a Street Fighter-Tekken crossover are as patently obvious as lifelong bear wrestler Zangief versus lifelong bear Kuma. Capcom is halfway to making that dream match a reality, as the publisher today released a new trailer for Street Fighter x Tekken, featuring gameplay of a handful of newly confirmed characters, including Kuma himself.
Sporting his bright red bandana, Kuma enters the fray on the Tekken side of the roster alongside the sunglasses-clad ninja Raven. Balancing things out on the Capcom side of the roster are a pair of Street Fighter III veterans in the lithe ninja Ibuki and the mammoth man-mountain Hugo.
The trailer also goes into the game's new fighting systems, including the various ways to tag characters in and out, often times midcombo. The clip also shows off chain combos similar to those of the Darkstalkers series, as well as tag team Cross Art super moves. Finally, the trailer shows off the Cross Assault feature, which allows for a player to call in both members of a tag team to swarm an opponent for a limited time.
Street Fighter x Tekken is expected to launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita next year. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
This is great my friend has alwasy been a huge SF fan and I'm a huge Tekken fan but anytime I would play SF he would kick my butt and I would always kick his butt in Tekken now we can finally see who is better. :) I'm pumped.
I like how they mixed both tekken elements and street fighter elements which will create a very unique hopefully great fighting game
This looks very promising. It'll be something a bit different, too, which I like. Not 100% on whether I'll get it yet, but right now I'm leaning towards yes.
The more I see of this game, the more excited it makes me to play it. I think this is going to be a lot of fun.
Awesome, next include Fei-Long and Marshall Law, E. Honda and Ganryu, Charlie Nash and Paul Phoenix, Guy and Lei Wulong, Balrog and Roger, Dee Jay and Eddie, and Sakura and Xiaoyu.
Before I watched this trailer I thought SF X Tekken was a game that used more of the SF engine than Tekken's. After watching this one, I think this is more of MvC. I thought it would be cool to play SF using Tekken's engine.
@Henninger Indeed. Now there initial sales numbers may not be as well as they forcasted for this one, that is if everyone waits to see if there is another, more beefed up version coming.
Wait! Don't sucker in right now and buy it! There will be a Ultimate Street Fighter vs Tekken in about 6-8 months, and probably $20 cheaper.Won't get me this time Capcom.
Because Capcom has released 3 different versions of SF4 & later this year will b releasing a 2nd version of MvC3, i'll pass on this when it 1st comes out. We already know that there will b a Super or Ultimate or a Turbo version comin out after this drops so i'll wait.
While it's obvious SOMEBODY had yo post there'll be a super version or some bs, this has characters from NAMCO!!!
im not buying this & soon when you guys do theres gonna be ultra street fighter x tekken around the conner
