Super Meat Boy dev unveils new game

Mew-Genics the next official project from Team Meat; will be "randomly generated, strange, and involve cats"; Super Meat Boy: The Game for iOS now "on hold."
Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat has unveiled its next game. Writing on the company blog, Edmund McMillen announced Mew-Genics, the two-man studio's next official project.
Details are light on the game, but McMillen said it will be "randomly generated, strange, and involve cats." He added that Mew-Genics is the strangest project he has ever worked on.
Mew-Genics is a result of a game jam Team Meat founders McMillen and Tommy Refenes held one weekend in September. McMillen said development is "moving quite fast," with more information and screenshots coming "soon."
McMillen assured fans holding out for Super Meat: The Game for iOS devices that the game is still in development, but it has been placed "on hold" until the company releases Mew-Genics.

How can you mention these guys without bringing up Binding of Isaac?!?!?
Never played meat boy but I loved Isaac and their randomly generated levels. Glad they're sticking to that.
Also a fan of Cats so lets hope this game is fun
Anyone who's played the Basement Collection and played edmund Mcmillen's other games (IE, where you're a fetus, a vomiting animal, and a time travelling suicidal depressive clone) will know that when he says this is the strangest game they've ever made that's really saying something.
Super Meat Boy it was a nice game ... i wish this game to have the same fun and action :)
A good friend of mine is good friends with them. Hope I can get my hands on some early builds and give some feedback.

I really think that this guy is great at making good looking characters and creatures, but he could also add more detail without corrupting his designs or art style.

Well, from the looks of the splash screen on their website and the name of the game being a play on the word "eugenics". I can imagine this game is about mass murdering cats. Interesting.
Where the fuuuuuck is Meat Boy for the PS3? I'm not going to buy a 360 for one game. I gave my original one to my brother for a reason.

@charlesdao Fair enough, but they should still be pressing it for other systems, indie game companies shouldn't be pandering to two platforms purely because of the market saturation.
@rapboy_905 @charlesdao It's Sony fault. Team Meat showed it to Sony and they didn't respond back.
@Xplode_77 @rapboy_905 I've had one since they came out, and NO, the d-pad still sucks. (It's better than the old one, but it's still not usable for most things).
@GinsuVictim @rapboy_905 The 360 has a good d-pad if you have a chrome series with the adjustable feature.
@GinsuVictim @rapboy_905 You aren't going to change anyone's opinion by saying that. I find myself agreeing with rapboy on this one. I don't dislike the 360, but I don't like the controller for anything other than Halo games.
It's especially bad for fighting games, but you did admit the d-pad was bad.

@Vader_300 @da_post_office People on the Steam forums seem to be having problems with any pad that isn't an Xbox one. The main reason I dislike the Xbox is the bloody controller.
@Nintendo_Fan128 The only mention of iOS here is that their iOS version of Super Meat Boy has been put on hold until Mew-Genics is finished. We don't know, yet, what platform Mew-Genics will be on.
1 Like After Binding of Isaac, I'm pretty much sold on anything from these dudes for a while. They've earned my good will. Hope they manage to keep it.
If this game has anything to do with upgrading and rouge-like elements with cats I'm buying this the instant it gets on steam.
love all of team meats work and i have a cat so this makes this game so much better haha
