The Last of Us confirmed for 2013 - Report

just get the game out already ! I could probably play it now putting all the trailers together ! oh I forgot GOTY in 2013 (early 2013) I sure hope !

If I had the money to spend I buy a PS3 just for this game. Oh well I guess PS3 users get this great game and me and the rest of the 360 users get the fantastic looking Halo 4.

Uncharted sucked this better not be a letdown although the game looks great i hate uncharted because its too repetitive 

im glad it's pushed back. there are a lot of games i need to catch up on and plus there are some awesome games coming out this year as well

The last of Us was my favorite game of this E3. So waiting until 2013 to play it seems like a long time. But will be worth the wait.

I think this is the year I buy a PS3.

Most of its exclusives would be realitivly cheap by now and there are so many more coming out next year, while Xboxs' exclusive list seems to be getting smaller by the day.

And here I was complaining about having too large of a backlog of games to play through. This is a bummer though because I can't think of any games coming out this year that I'll buy for PS3 and I can only think of maybe 3 games I'll buy for 360. Is GTA V still coming out this year?

Considering how many AAA titles are being released in 2013, something is going to have to give. People aren't made of money, so unless all these games' release dates are spread out throughout 2013 some of these are not going to reach the kind of sales that their publishers are hoping for.

I take it this is a PS3 exclusive? God dammit.

I've plenty on my plate already, and given that The Last of Us definitely has me in the "Day 1 Purchase" camp, I'm almost relieved it won't be out this year.  Plus, my hope is that they'll use the time to really polish the game and ensure it lives up to all our expectations.

That said, I do worry that the extended wait might start to diminish excitement for the game.  They'll need to make sure they keep releasing more crumbs of info and gameplay footage between now and whenever it's released.  Because I've pretty much lost all interest in The Last Guardian after too much waiting with too little news - beyond the rumors and speculation that the game has serious development issues or has been altogether scrapped.

I'll buy the PS3 only for this. And Beyond.

So this "game" gets to fail next year big deal.

Gotta admit, I'm glad to hear this.  Only leaves two games I plan to get this year, Halo 4 for sure and maybe Borderlands 2.  With an expensive vacation at the end of the year, I need to save all I can!!!  Of course now next year looks like I'll be spending a small fortune on games!!

You don't say. lol!! I'm not surprised at this news. After waiting for The Last Guardian and FF XIII versus, this is pretty common with Sony's games. At least I have StarHawk to play.

Kinda figured it wouldn't, and it's probably for the best. Q4 of this year is already packed to the brim to the point that a lot of games scheduled for this holiday dropped out in favor of releasing next year.

I had Square Enix on a pedestal until the year after Final Fantasy XIII. Since then it went very silent, with many rumors of problems within the company and games announced that don´t seem to ever come out.

Uncharted 3 made Naughty Dog completely take Square's place! And after seeing this gameplay demo it seems it is going to say there!! :D

I have my PS3 in hibernation for specific titles only (I am a 360 kinda guy).... but with God of War and Last of Us out next year... it seems like my console will come to life again in 2013

A lot of good games coming out in 2013 and I see The Last of Us being award numerous GOTY awards. Seriously, when I saw that demo, it literally BLEW my mind. The gameplay looks very solid and offers something new while still having familiar elements. Naughty Dog has come a long way since their PS1 days and this is the first time where it feels like I NEED to own a game. Hell, every PS3 owner should buy The Last of Us.!

Extreme bummage...Excited about this one. 

Either way this is on my list, love Naughty Dog.
