could it be that the person who is helping snake whos head is covered in bandages is ryden it might explain why he is so messed up in metal gear rising: revengence. and i believe the voice at the end is saying "he has come to" you know regained conciousness
New project from Moby Dick Studio revealed during Video Game Awards show; could be connected in some way to Metal Gear Solid.
Tonight during the 2012 Video Game Awards show, a new intellectual property from Moby Dick Studio was revealed. The project is titled "The Phantom Pain," and no information regarding platforms of release window was provided.
A trailer for The Phantom Pain was shown and it focused primarily on a man in a hospital with no memory of who he was. The trailer will be embedded here once it becomes available.
Moby Dick Studio appears to be a brand new outfit based in Sweden. Notably, its website shows the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos. The company says its aim is to "deliver an uncompromising, exciting, and touching game experience to people all around the globe."
It has since been suggested that The Phantom Pain could be connected in some way to the Metal Gear Solid series. Not only does the main character of the trailer resemble Snake from Metal Gear Solid, but also mysterious (and heretofore unknown) Moby Dick Studio CEO Joakim Mogren's first name is in fact an anagram of Kojima.
Further, NeoGAF has compiled a list of supposed evidence that suggests The Phantom Pain is in fact a teaser for Metal Gear Solid 5.
I have a question wasn't Metal Gear Solid 5 suppost to star solid snake and if so why is he young again? did they find a way to reverse his aging because if that arm i doubt it takes place before metal gear solid so whats the deal here. To me I think they make Metal Gear connections on purpose just so the game will sell.
The "METAL GEAR SOLID V" faint text above the "phantom pain" gives it away...very clever advertising..:)
Did anyone notice/understand what the voice of a lady says at the end few seconds of the trailer ??!
@jawadhasan3 - Yeah, lots of people, and it's still obviously pretty up-in-the-air as to whether it's "V has come to" or "He has come to". I couldn't say, but who really cares, I just hope they take their time with making this one as brilliant as the rest (but specifically MGS1 and 3), no need to rush this game out we can all wait for something awesome ;)
@HuskySnake no sir it cant be cuz ocelot lost his right hand are-go he took liquids right arm to replace the lost one and the fact that liquid took over ocelots body by the end of mgs2 and orchestrated everything in mgs4...
@LeonsKnnedy @LATADIDAS @HuskySnake
I have to agree this if it is metal gear solid 5 it would have to be big boss though it is weird or at least in my option that they are focusing so many games on him with zero grounds and all. Or watch them pull something like the man in the trailer being a fourth clone or some crap like that.
@LATADIDAS @HuskySnake Sorry i meant to say it is possible that the character in the trailer is Big Boss, and the reason he lost his left arm is to mirror Liquid Snake that lost the right one, just like Solidus mirror Big Boss by losing his left eye. Might not be it at all, but because Kojima likes irony is his story telling i think is a valid opinion
@LE5LO no your not infact many people posted that on youtube days before infact HOURS after the trailer was shown live on Spike TV if you didnt watch it live on Spike TV like me and MANY MANY OTHERS
you are very LATE
@Yeahurwrong yeah no shit man, the more I dug for info on this after commenting I saw a few people had realized it too, but not many as every story seemed obsessed with just the reporting the Joakim part and omitting the mORGEn. But you're late to reply :P
So its another prequel? About Big Boss and not snake? Damn, I need to catch up on my prequels. Snake Eater was the only Big Boss game I every played...
From the bandage over his bleeding right eye, to the beard and the mullet, to the end of the video where his breathing clearly conveys that this person is a heavy smoker Lol
ok guys how about this:
Its big boss who has lost his memory and now patriots need a replacement so doctors are making his clones
From the name, I was hoping maybe someone was going to take on the challenge of building a decent Gundam game.
During the Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes trailer, there's a line that says "From Fox, Two Phantom Was Born" And look closely to the anagram. Joakim= Kojima , M"ogre"n= OGRE(project that kojima is working on)
@Soothsayer42 You beat me to posting on the M"ogre"n part. Nice one, I gotta add this is the cleverest marketing for a game I've ever seen, kills the HL3 t-shirt, that just felt like we got trolled by Valve, but this seems 'solid' ;)
@LE5LO @Soothsayer42 A guy on youtube found that in Ground zero and this trailer there is a similar sound, which i think is the best evidence that this game might be the same on two separate games one leading to the other...
listen to minute 2:53 in this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSfajBs2nyQ
Then listen to minute 1:08 in this other trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltH1eWxZutE
@LeonsKnnedy With that little audio clue, and everything else that's been deciphered or examined, I think we can bank on 'The Phantom Pain' being 'M.G.S V' ;)
Anagram, not Acronym seriously Eddie.
Do you seriously even have basic knowledge enough in this crap to be even be writing these articles?
Almost every single article i see from you has mistakes in it.
Go take some lessons on this crap before you continue your job.
@WolfGrey Apologies for the errors. I made the corrections, though they may take a few moments to propagate across all GameSpot servers.
I...CERTAINLY...hope that this is as cerebral as the name suggests and not just another acontextual and embarrassing use of an auspicious title.
@eddyoshi It is... METAL GEAR SOLID V even fits in the weird spaces in the title "the phantom pain"...
@Simplythebest12 ever heard of The Walking Dead ? or Coffee Stain Studios ? or Dennaton Games ? or Erik Svedäng ? or Frictional Games ? or Jonatan "Cactus" Söderström ? or Mojang ? or Nifflas ? or Pieces Interactive ? or Star Vault ? or Swedish Game Development ?
I think u dont
@Simplythebest12 The Walking Dead = ColdWood Interactive.
@Mon6ana The only ones I've heard of from Sweden are Zabiam's two: Dice and Minecraft. I doubt many people would've heard of the ones on your list beside The Walking Dead, which you're wrong on again, it's an American game by Telltale, not ColdWood. Don't beat yourself up over it though.
@Simplythebest12 i love ze sveedish!
@Simplythebest12 Or Minecraft??
@Simplythebest12 Ever heard of DICE???
You could have gave us a link to the trailer, Makuch, but whatever. I watched it on Dailymotion: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvp34h_the-phantom-pain_videogames#.UMT1lnftaw8
It's obviously MGS5 and that's clearly Snake, no doubt about it. You must be blind not to see it. Especially after Ground Zeroes trailers.

Dead Island: Riptide might look like an idyllic zombie-fest, but it's little more than a frustrating mess of half-baked ideas and repetitive combat.
