Aliens: Colonial Marines knocks Dead Space 3 down to second place.
Gearbox's panned FPS Aliens: Colonial Marines has shot to the top of the UK charts despite its massive critical drubbing.
Aliens: Colonial Marines also enjoyed the best opening-week sales of any game this year so far--beating Dead Space 3, which Aliens: Colonial Marines also shunted into second place in the charts.
But could the sales numbers be down to the fact Aliens: Colonial Marines launched on a Tuesday, whereas Dead Space 3 launched on a Friday?
Colonial Marines didn't manage to outsell Rebellion's 2010 take on Aliens vs. Predator, however. Last week one reported former Gearbox employee said the development of Colonial Marines was a "total train wreck."
FIFA 13 is third, enjoying a 39 per cent sales increase this week thanks to young people being off on half-term. Call of Duty: Black Ops II takes fourth, Far Cry 3 fifth, Assassin's Creed 3 sixth, Need for Speed: Most Wanted seventh, Just Dance 4 eighth, Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed ninth, and Halo 4 tenth.

@i_like_pie223 if your an objective person, not someone who thinks its cool to hate on everything, then you would have to admit there was definite fun to be had in this game if you are a fan of aliens. does this game have flaws? yes, did it take them too long to produce this game especially with all its flaws? yes, but I still do not regret buying this game because I do not want to see the aliens license go down the crapper.

@Venatorcruiser @erix43 dude please read my statement to other guy, do you realize that if he is American or not, you just put down a whole country of people that have done you no wrong? I am an American, proud of it, and completely not fat, but remember, what if an American who is, reads your evil words? would you truly want to hurt that persons feelings, someone who is innocent of your evil? best to think about what we say before we say it, for there is no such thing as idle words and every word we say counts.

Steam has made it so I only buy games on sales, there will always be a sale like 3 months after a launch of the game and it'll be 50% off lol.
I feel pretty gutted to have forked out £30 for what was a pretty lame game. I guess I never learn. I should stop pre-ordering games and playing into the hands of the greedy publishers.

If your a big aliens fan then its easy to ignore graphics from 2009. The sounds are spot on. Shooting a xeno has never been so much fun :)

@erix43 Nothing really beats that. But you do need to switch it up every once in a while.
I rented it, to give it a chance. I was utterly disturbed by the amount of neglect this poor franchise suffered. I love this title, but they ruined it. It may be good for newcomers to the video game world.

Use that $10 on anything else but this.
