$5 turn-based card game from Sony Bend coming to PS Vita December 4 with support for Golden Abyss.
The rumor was right. Sony today confirmed the next entry in the Uncharted series as turn-based card game Uncharted: Fight for Fortune. Due December 4 at $5 for PlayStation Vita, the game features the heroes and villians from the Uncharted series, including Nathan Drake and Katherine Marlowe, among others.
In Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, players will create a team of Faction cards based on characters from the Uncharted series. They will use that squad to defeat opponents while also defending themselves from attacks.
Additionally, Fight for Fortune ties in to PS Vita game Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Sony is readying a patch for Golden Abyss that will enable the artifacts players have found to be used within Fight for fortune. Gamers do not need to own Golden Abyss to play Fight for Fortune.
Uncharted: Fight for Fortune is in development at Sony Bend in association with series developer Naughty Dog and startup shop One Loop Games. This team is made up of "talented industry veterans" and will assist Sony is extending the Uncharted franchise.
See this is what I was scared of; I don't want them to milk the Uncharted name just because its one of Sony's biggest title.
Is it wrong that I want this just because it's Uncharted....?
Last time I played a card game was Pokemon, when I was about 12 (coming up to 13 years ago), not been interested since.
Seeing Drake's face on a card however with abilities like top trumps makes me kind of want it.
Bloody effective branding.. Grrr...
Wait, this is not how the process goes....it should go from adventure to racing like Crash and Jak series, not to card game.
Huh ... no interest here. Honestly Id rather play a card game with the real cards then pay for a digital substitute. Guess they think that card game video games are actualy worth producing for a system that is marketed as console quality... and a card game is not console quality... its a card game come on!!! But for those people who do like card game video games I hope this one is worth it.
I think I would have preferred something more along the lines of Metal Gear Acid, where there was still a storyline and adventure but things played out like a card game with customized decks.
this is fine. i don't think we really need another Uncharted game otherwise. i like the idea of playing with a world we already know and have had fun being in, but the beauty of the Uncharted series to me was that it felt finite. i feel like we got to live Nathan Drake's best adventures already and Uncharted 3, in it's flashbacks and main story, put a very nice bookend to the story. it's a fantastic little group of games, and i would love to see it stay that way, leaving on an incredibly high note.
i can't wait to see The Last Of Us, and i applaud Naughty Dog for starting a new IP and letting Uncharted just be. to be honest, i would like to see The Last Of Us be a single game without sequels, too. it feels like game companies are rarely able to do that anymore, but from what we have seen of the story, i think ND could do it; i want to see a complete story, with no cliff-hangers, that i can sit down and enjoy and then leave when i'm done, completely satisfied with the experience.
I wish Konami would make a online Yu-Gi-Oh game that allows you to use your own cards to play against someone online on the vita.
Why does naughty dog always do spin offs after the 3rd game. Jak got a racing game and so did crash. We need an uncharted racing game.
*glances at article headline* "SWEET! A new Uncharted game!" :D
*reads the article* "... fucking pass..." :|
Darn. Well, I guess it sounds cool and all, but I was hoping for either a fighter, or another "Golden Abyss."
Could be alright if the rules are well done. There have been a few successful board game/card game adaptations of video games.
Serioiusly an Uncharted carding game? -.- I mean, i'm a fan of Uncharteed but there is no way in hell i'm going to buy this.
Is it really necessary, Imean, maybe some people would like it but I doubt that they will still be playing it after a month. I'n not buying it, since it don't add nothing to the series and it's not for free.
Need more info before I make a final decision but why make this? Really? Who was asking for a turn based card game set in the Uncharted universe? Honestly? I'm thinking no one.
