Well first things first this could skyrocket sales of the PS3 in Germany and from what I can see Motorola are betraying Microsoft, another point no one really cares for Windows 7 cause Vista is fine if you have a decent Anti-Virus but overall it won't make an insane difference if it only gets banned in Germany but if it goes through in America I'd say Microsoft would f**k up unless they release the next gen Xbox early
German court rules Xbox 360 and Windows 7 devices banned in country following Motorola patent suit, but US judge orders phone company not to have ruling enacted just yet.
A German court has granted Motorola Mobility an injunction against the distribution of Microsoft's Xbox platform line in Germany, Reuters reports. The Mannheim court ruled today that Microsoft must remove a string of products from the German market, including the Xbox 360 and devices running the Windows 7 operating system.
The move will not have immediate implications, the site reports, because a US district court in Seattle, Washington, has granted Microsoft a preliminary injunction against Motorola that prevents the phone company from enacting the German order.
"Motorola is prohibited from acting on today's decision, and our business in Germany will continue as usual while we appeal this decision and pursue the fundamental issue of Motorola's broken promise," a Microsoft representative told the site.
Additionally, Reuters reports that Microsoft has already moved its software distribution center in Europe from Germany to the Netherlands, ahead of anticipated decisions in the ongoing patent trials.
This news follows a US International Trade Commission judge determining last week that Microsoft's Xbox 360 hardware infringes on Motorola Mobility patents for video decoding, Wi-Fi connection, and console-to-accessory connections.
Apple: We are ready to take over the world
Motorola: where do you want to start?
Apple: Germany, since they are #1 in Europe, bailing out everyone
Motorola: what about your nemesis? *gasp* Microsoft
Apple: We will crush MS first and own the entire PC Market, this what you do (Num, Num , Num, *Cough*)
Motorola: Ahh alright, Let's get the show started :)
Wow some crazy (racist, prejudice) comments below. If you guys represent the average Xbox user (screaming racist remarks and thinking you're the best) then I'm glad I own a PS3. Now back to playing Uncharted 3...
Yeah, they are way too prejudiced, calling people names and stuff.
Oh wait, no, that's you.
They rebuilt their whole country in less time we boo hoo about 9-11. They don't need no dam X box or Win 7 to get by,

@cjburnfist Well. If you want to get political about it... that can be looked at that way and is by a lot of people. Personally I look at a president as a human being that can make choices and has limits. Everyone president has.. and everyone always will. Some presidents also fall in office in easier times than others.
@ekolite Yes. Apparently Germans like playing Atari way more.
@marvelx3 Naw. Their economy is just different cause, well they live in a different one. Some of our (U.S.) censorship and banning is trivial to me and is hard to understand as well.
@ekolite I find that half offensive and half SPOT ON.
@Nminitor_236 .. Really.. not suprised... a godd portion of the stuff on Gamespot has come from somewhere else.. forums, develors, other european gaming sites, Tweets etc etc
That Headline is just a bit of feeble untruth to to achieve more hits..
BTW nothing agins Germans...
Oh Poor Krauts... I'd have more sympathy if they werent a genocidle nation of Ass Bandits and a public school system that misses real World history between 1919 till the 8th May 1945.. As a German youth what happened and they will tell you everyone ate cake! Glad I'm not German then.
The sad part is that you know shit about Germany, it's school system or the general german mentality. EVERY German and even most Europeans could tell that at a glance of what you wrote.
@RockZillaX Word Bro.
@RockZillaX Now, if peopled measured all americans based on your intellect, then we could easily say: "The US is the most stupid, ignorant, redneck, white-trash, nation in the world". Luckily you are the minority and most americans aren't like that and are actually quite intelligent.
@RockZillaX The same sh!t goes on in the American public school system. Public school system = massive indoctrination outlet for government agendas. Period.
@RockZillaX That was the most racist post I've ever seen. You do realize that Hitler is dead, as well as the Nazi party, and the Germans are regular people just like everyone else?
Lol. Another non-issue posted by a Gamespot "journalist". IGN is a MUCH better place for actual news. Gamespot is just like the rest of the lemming press.
@swamptick IGN can't call themselves a gaming news site if they ignore this story. Maybe there are other reasons why they don't mention it...

@Nminator_236 You ought to read things thoroughly before insulting people, but, I know, words are hard. What it actually said is that Motorola filed an injunction ("An injunction is... a court order that requires a party to do or refrain from doing specific acts" -wikipedia) against Microsoft, preventing them from selling certain products in Germany, including the 360. "The Mannheim court ruled today that Microsoft must remove a string of products from the German market, including the Xbox 360 and devices running the Windows 7 operating system." (Sentence #2, for the record).Of course, you'd know this if you'd read the article.
i live in germany and about the censorship of violence its true, games get censored and banned all the time if they are too violent or bloody (they cut the whole airport mission in cod and thats a small example!) and this comes as no surprise... and microsoft will have heavy losses if they lose the german market, the games and electronics are pretty expensive here (i often order games from the UK because theyre uncensored and cheaper!) but i prefer my PS3 anyway and windows mobile is pretty bad compared to other mobile OSes... no loss for me but a hard hit for microsoft!

@King_TigerMK3 One regulative office over them all? Never gonna' happen. Way too many cultural and religious differences around the world...
The same thing happened to Sony in Korea or something. LG sued them, they were banned from selling products in that territory. They appealed the decision and settled out of court.
Microsoft will never actually allow this to happen.
Motorola don't just make phones ya know. They are a huge company.
They make mobile phones, cable boxes, semi conductors (meaning they are in a lot of electronics), GPS systems amongst many other electronics.
Motorola very much still exist, lol
The american court not subdued the german court. Apparently, U.S. judges banned that Motorola continued to implement the decision issued by a german court, under penalty of a fine imposed on Motorola in the U.S territory.
Not sure why I did not read the case, but it must be something like that. But one thing is fact, the boss in Germany are Germans.
That's frickin horrible. I heard stuff gets banned in Germany all the time, and they have weird violence censoring laws for games..
Live in Sweden and Study in the UK But Why the FUUQ would a US judge have anything to do with Germany. These suckers can't enforce The Laws in their own country so they do it on other countries why don't you go instead and steal some Oil from poor countries eg. Uganda, I heard that some Oil was found there a few months back or maybe if you are bored you can go and hunt Joseph Kony which by the way was made up as a dangerous man so that they can come in Uganda to ''help'' the people by capturing Joseph Kony or as i see it so that they can steal some Oil
Microsoft is a United States based company so they are allowed to be represented by a Unites States Attorney. Microsoft has the right to an appeal and these trials can go on for a looong time. And please don't bash America, we dont have any gripes with Sweden. Actually I forgot Sweden existed. America enforces laws just fine my friend. Motorola has nothing better to do. I can see them going after the Windows mobile but Xbox??? Xbox isnt even in their line of business. Anyway Swede relax with the American bashing. Theres no need for that and as an American, I wouldnt step foot in any other country but my own. We have everything!! And we definately dont have any of these retarded game bannngs. If countries are going to ban games, they might as well ban the movies that actually inspire some of these games. L:ater Swede

@Motorcross11 Wow - I'm not sure which oozes more from your post - your ignorance or your prejudice.
does that mean the police is going tocome to your house if you get caught playing a solo game in your basement?
Hmm, strange, where r them Xbox fan boys now, don't feel like throwing your thongs around in encouragement now do ya?
Foogin, a machine devised out of thievery. How bout that for rep...
Well here I am bro. A proud 360 fanboy. Do you think I care what goes on in Germany? Microsoft will iron it out. Hey Sony got sued by LG too so I guess Sony's a thief too?? Any country that bans video games shouldnt even have a say in hardware. Im sure there are German movies that make any game look like childs play but they will show those right?? Besides, you think this has anythng to do with fanboys?? That shows your ignorance because right away your trying to start a battle between "whcih console is better" over a German court decision. EEEEERRRRRRR, DUUUUHHHHH. YOUR A WINNER bro!!! shmehh!! LMAO
