Xbox 360 US sales hit 1.26 million in November

I work hard, make good enough money to buy a xbox, ps3, gaming pc (built myself) and Wii. I am not bragging - but I do want you all to know I am still very serious about my what I can spend my money on. 

On that - I could give a rats ass what system does this or that - plays blu ray, hd dvd, or wii, which i think plays an eight track cassette, though poorly. I and all of the others friends I game with also do not care if it is motion controlled, or camera or whatever. 

We JUST CARE ABOUT THE GAME, THE GAME PERIOD. no really just the GAME. 

hey did I mention the GAME?

I buy a console based on the game or games it will play on.

On that note- I mostly play on the xbox 360, then ps3, then pc, then wii and alot of hours on the psone still yet. This generation games like Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Gears, Bioshock, Assassin, etc have kept me more interested in the 360. 

Every xbox 360 that was bought early on got RROD eventually, but MS fixed and replaced them all in a timely manner with no further problems. XBL does have alot to do with it, COD MW series is alot of fun with a gun. 

Yes my ps3 has seen alot of hours logged onto it, FF13, uncharted, ... I am sure there were many more game i played on it but can't remember them: oh yeah FF7, Saiyuki, FFT. Also a billion blu rays movies.

The Wii - well the kids play it more then me, but I do have a couple of RPGs planned. Oh who am i kidding the Wii sucked - besides some 1rst party games (which were not that awesome) it collected dust. Tried some old downloadable games - but just not the same. 

The PC - this generation had tons of awesome games - as more games were made for both console and pc. helped alot. I guess where the xbox developer tools are architecture d toward pc and easier to develop for we got to see alot more crossover games this gen. Steam helped alot also. 

Still though the xbox 360 - couch friendly, won more time then any other system. Props to you "lifts glass" xbox 360 well done and here is to an even better new year and new system (long over due).

I am surprise that there are still so many people that don't have a xbox360 at this time.

its funny how people STILL b*tch about xbox breaking down, when that doesn't even happen. it did at first, ut now? please. its even funnier bcs all of my friends have an xbox, only 1 guy had a ps3, and HIS broke down. ofc he said screw it, and joined in our ranks haha :D

ps. had the ps3, bought it just to play demon's souls, other exclusives were...meh, sold it after 3 months

i could care less what sells more. i love playstation since the 1st..all i could say is alot of little kids are on xbox iv'e noticed..when i play ps3 online it seems its ppl in there 20's and 30's

Good, with continued successes in sales from XBox and PS3 means Microsoft and Sony will continue to support these systems maybe even after their new systems emerge.  It basically means our consoles have a little bit less of a chance to collet dust on our shelves in the near future. 

And to those still out there encouraging a fanboy flamewar, that's just pathetic.  The systems have been out for SEVEN years.  If you havnt owned BOTH systems by now then it's better off go to jump in a lake.  Why bash the other system just because in 7 years you havn't come up with the cash to buy a 2nd system??  

Both PS3 and Xbox 360 are great systems.   I am happy with their lifespans of 6-7 years thus far.   Xbox 360 has another 1-2 strong years left in it, PS 3 has about 2-3 strong years left in it due to a small amount of untapped potential.   What is interesting is seeing which systems will be removed from shelves on stores to make room for the new games and software.  I think PSP is the first casualty.      

PS3 is better. Why? Cause it got better dedicated games.

Good to see it hit that milestone. I've been enjoying Xbox since the original launched and they've kept it afloat with great titles, although they are getting a little sparse lately in the exclusive dept.. Selling this many units is a main reason why they really don't wanna make the jump to new hardware. That's a huge userbase with lots of revenue to be made off of. I just hope they either make it backwards compatible, or at least support it for a few years afterwards.

ummm, who cares.  xbox and ps3 are both on par with one another.  not real difference other than preference...oh and the fact the ps3 plays blue ray.  considering that i don't know why anybody buys the xbox???

I never understand why it hurts people's feelings or makes people feel vindicated that one console sold better than another.  It's just business, folks.  They're not about to stop making games for the [insert your favorite console here].  Relax.

Healthy sales across all three main platforms means more incentive to provide high quality service and software.  Good 360 sales is good for Microsoft (obviously) and for 360 owners, as it provides MS and gamemakers reason to keep supporting the platform.  It's also good for PS3 owners because it puts pressure on Sony to do the same to maintain its market share and gain new customers.

It's also good for game companies, as it provides for a larger overall market for their product, if multiplatform, or larger incentives to stay exclusive if not.

Good sales figures are good for the game player, regardless of the platform they own and/or play on, so long as there are at least two big players in the market to create competition.

As a 360 owner, I want both the 360 and the PS3 and their next gen equivalents to sell well because I benefit from both my platform of choice being successful and from it having healthy competition.

I don't care who "wins" in hardware or software sales.  I care about getting good games to play.  Competition is good for that.

Congrats on the sales, but do we really need to hear this? And so frequently for that matter? This is supposed to be an entertainment web site, and they keep presenting us with numbers like it's the stock market. Quite frankly, I don't directly care how many systems are selling, only what products are coming out for them (games, accessories, new systems, etc.).

Almost 2 years of being #1, can't wait for the next Gen, this cycle needs to end. Got our money's worth though.

i thought this was only supposed to be comparing the 360 and the ps3? not every game hardware that sony's released.

Id love to know their motives. Also attached games are higher with ps3, showing its the strongest customer base (and possibly because a good amount of xbox sales are replacement units.
