Xian beats Daigo "The Beast" Umehara in Road To Evo SEA 2012 event
Singapore player defeats "The Beast" in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition; earns a place at Evolution 2012.
Singapore player Kun-Xian "Xian" Ho has beaten Daigo "The Beast" Umehara in the first-to-seven grand finals in the Road to Evo 2012 Southeast Asia Major that was held on 10 June.
While Umehara took the first round in the match, Xian was able to string together five wins in a row, forcing the Japanese brawler to switch mainstay character Ryu to Guile and Yun, in an effort to counter Xian's Gen.
Xian was the first to reach seven points in the end, leaving Daigo with five. As a result, the Singaporean player has won flights and accommodation to Las Vegas, USA, to compete in the Evolution 2012 tournament this July.
Xian represented Team Desperation Move, while Umehara represented Team Mad Catz. For a full recap of the finals, check out the Cross Counter Asia video links here, here and here.
