judgin by the looks it seems sigma is more of a family type toned down game, especially with the other characters here. It takes away the vengence in the game,,,,it no longer concentrates on Ryu on a mission, looks like a child play game now. I love NG, still a hard game but i dont think i want this on the PS3....xbox version still better

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is the most comprehensive Ninja Gaiden game yet. Find out more in our exclusive interview.
what they also should do is... make it online vs mode... like call of duty and those games... but ninja gaiden sigma 2.. it wuld be sick... like. if we could make our own custom ninja and use him in online battles... like teams... for e.g. in call of duty 6 on 6 or whatever they have.. it would be full sick
looks very good don't think they will tone it down much if they do. they might tone it down on the Japanese version but the American version it will probably be kinda like sigma and not ninja gaiden 2 hope so anyway. cant wait to play as momiji & ayane.
Well, he didn't say that they're taking the blood out. They probably took out the blood just for the gameplay videos that they used. It's still in development, so maybe they just haven't put anything in yet. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't leave the blood out of the game. Further more, I did here that the blood wasn't as well done in the second game, so if they're going to fix the problem, I'm willing to wait. I mean, GOD, he didn't even say anything about toning it down! One wrong move, and FanDumb pops out like it's on a hare trigger.
@todsnet You're comparing features from two different games...? Of course you probably like NGII over NGSigma! They're not even remakes of the other! Anyway, even if I already played NGII.... I'm considering getting this. Might be after a price drop, though.
Ok, when I heard NGS2 was coming to the PS3 I was thrilled, and when I found out it was going to have some modifications I was very pleased since the Xbox360 version had bad camera and no female ninja characters in it, and I said to myself: this is how it should be. BUT, taking away the blood and gore? I mean come on Tecmo, if you are going to modify a few elements in the game you should fix the bad things in it, like the camera for example and not mess with the good things like the blood and gore, bad move Tecmo, bad move.
Cutting out the blood and gore is a bad move on Tecmo's part, when playing a Ninja Gaiden Game I expect three things: 1. A game so frustratingly difficult that I have to replace my controller because I broke it in two out of frustration. 2. A Bad Camera and a decent story line. 3. Blood and Gore, and lots of it
I've played Sigma and NG2 on both systems and by far NG2 on xbox360 was more fun to play than on PS3. The action and dismemberment was awsome on the 360 and just mediocre on the PS3 in my opinion. So I hope they come out with another Ninja Gaiden game on the 360. If not, I will still buy the PS3 game, the graphics were great on both systems. I loved both games and many times felt like throwing the controller through the tv many times. I just wish Sigma 2 comes out sooner.
i realy hope the body dismemberment action would still remain, not just HOPE i think they SHOULD keep this feature cuz it was awesome in NG2
Technically Nosnitsttam NG2 wasn't ported. It's a remake/redesign with new features to separate itself from that game which was exclusive. Not surprising. But, one must wonder how iron clad MS contracts are if this has happened. ;)
Sweet, online co-op for Ninja Gaiden. let's hope they do local co-op too. i love how itagaki was so adamant that this wasn't going happen this time around, i bet its one of the reasons why he quit. but if it means more ninja gaiden for more people, who cares? i also love how they're tossing in some of the DS content
lol.....you probably were big headed while ur xbox was alive wernt u? dont worry thats what their all like until they get RROD or disk scratches.
koooooooooool !!!!! now i need to get a PS3 !! plus my x360 just gave me a rrod...i will fix it but i will NEVER buy any future video game consoles from microsoft...they dont know what they are doing !!!
"Why would it not have "body dismemberment"?"
Judging from the gameplay or combat action from this video and the official one here http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/ninjagaidensigma2/video/6206586/gdc-2009-ninja-gaiden-sigma-2-official-trailer you can clearly see no body dismemberment. Reason why I stated if it doesn't have it, it won't be 'as' good or better. Also, you have to think what they added or didn't add to make this game different in order to bypass/loophole the contract of Ninja Gaiden 2 exclusivity to MS and 360. You have to remember, on paper, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a completely different game to NG2 thus allowing it to appear on PS3. I'd assume some things were not added to further show the differences. I just hope the body dismemberment wasn't one of those. I'll allow the health regen at statues to be gone, just not the other. But, if it is gone then I'll still play it. Just not as crazily as I would if that feature was available cause that was what I loved about NG2. :P
I did not get this for the 360 so I would say it is a must have game for me on the PS3. Hopefully the "body dismemberment" action would still remain intact. chop.. chop..
So, basically, us 360 players are paying extra for what the PS3 players are going to get for free?
it seems to be a great game(i've never played any ng game)...However I can;t wait for a new Dead or Alive (5) ...I hope it will be as good as it was with Itagaki leading the project...DOA 5 N O W
"The only problem I see from this title and the trailer, is the lack of the features which made Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 awesome which was the body dismemberment and auto regen health at statues. Unless they add this feature on sigma 2, I don't see how it's going to be better than NG2. Don't get me wrong, I love Sigma and can't wait for this title cause I wanted another NG game on PS3 and cause it's going to have trophies since all games developed and released from 09 forward will sport it. It's just I really loved the Body Dismemberment from NG2 and thought that really set the bar for how good the game was, as well as the auto regen health at statues." Why would it not have "body dismemberment"?
NG1 on Xbox was a gem, very challenging game and difficulty level was high, frustrating and yet balanced. NG2 on 360 the difficulty was more frustrating, almost impossible at times and you had to get lucky to beat it and so it was not as balanced as NG1. Lets hope the difficulty is balanced on Sigma 2 PS3.

well im getting this! i really liked sigma, and was disappointed when ninja gaiden 2 was exclusive to 360, i now have a 360 and i dont need to get it for that anymore, ill get this WAAAY better version for ps3. ps3 FTW!!!
that is a woman's voice... lol such a silly way to translate someone... shame on you gamespot!
Extra characters, more boss battles, new weapons, and online co-op play, this is really a big upgrade, I'm so glad this great game is making it to PS3 finally. I wonder if Xbox owners can get this features as DLC.
This is truly exciting. I wish they would make an action game with Hayate and Kasumi. Having Ayane in this game makes NGS2 that more spectacular.
they had a japanese guy before from capcom even hideo kojima was here to promote mgs4 they had a guy doing their voiceovers.so why not this time??
WTH Gamespot. Since when do we dub a male with a female's voice? That's just F'ing lazy.
i wouldnt worry about lag in online since the servers are sony's generally and they are equivalent to WoW. if theres lag YOU are the epic FAIL!!! i may get this, never got sigma although i played it
lol by the way gs dont want you to see this: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/11029.html consoles, gpus, discs are all over
OMG i really can't wait to get this now. Hope i don't get paired up with someone who sucks ass in this game though.
I have played NG 1&2 on Xbox 360, now the PS3 version is looking much better. I am going to have to sell my 360 and buy a PS3 now hey ;)
So I noticed at about 1:43 in there is this old guy in the video that looks like Merlin from Shrek the Third. I didn't know Dreamworks was developing this game. :)
whats the use the game might be awesome but the camera angle suck big time. learn something from capcoms devil may cry series.thats the cam angle this game needs.
When Sigma came out for the PS3 i bought it even though i got to play black on the x-box. It was awesome and it definetly was the definitive version of the game. When the original was anounced for the 360 i knew they would eventually come out with a sigma 2 for the PS3. All i have to say is thank goodness i did not read up on the story line or borrow a friends 360. It will be so sweet. CO-OP!!!!!!
