"I will be starting a new blog very soon to bring you all exclusive stuff (art, interviews, scoops, and more) on all of our download titles (Puzzle Fighter, Street Fighter, Rocketmen, Talisman, etc.), but to give you a taste of what's to come, here is the very first official image released of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. All of the backgrounds, portraits, and in-game animations are being completely re-drawn, in hi-res (game will run in 1080p), by Udon Comics.
And this is what it will look like (if you paused the game and took out the background):
I have much more art to share in the coming weeks, leading up all the way to launch.
So, what do you think?"
A shot was taken of the presentation slide during Capcom's an,ement of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. This features a comparison of one of Ryu's redrawn sprites for the game. This can be seen below.

While Nintendo has added a steady stream of downloadable games to its Wii Virtual Console service every Monday since the system's November launch, the publisher has generally offered its legitimate classics with less renowned offerings. That won't be the case this coming Monday, as Nintendo is celebrating the Christmas holiday by releasing a quintet of high-profile retro games on the Virtual Console.
For its own part, Nintendo is releasing the original NES classic Super Mario Bros. for 500 Wii points ($5). Backing up the company's portly plumbers will be a pair of best sellers from the Super Nintendo era: Capcom's Street Fighter II: The World Warrior and Konami's Super Castlevania IV. Each of those games will sell for 800 Wii points ($8 ).
Variety says new film will focus on Chun Li; 2008 release targeted to celebrate series' 20th anniversary.
Street Fighter's previous cracks at the big screen haven't fared so well. It debuted as a lighthearted theme for a fight scene in Jackie Chan's tepid manga-to-movie effort City Hunter and then received a movie of its own in 1994 with Street Fighter. The action flick starring "The Muscles from Brussels" Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead role as the American fighter, Guile, was poorly received and served as an unfortunate swan song for the career of Raul Julia, who played M. Bison.

SAN FRANCISCO--Tonight, Microsoft threw a bash for the San Francisco games press at the half-swanky, half-funky Bambuddha Lounge in the city's Tenderloin district. The reason was to "kick off the Summer of Xbox Live" and show off the Xbox Live Arcade editions of several beloved arcade classics.
Though it was somewhat upstaged by a preemptively e-mailed press release earlier in the day, the party gave Microsoft a showcase to launch its summer Xbox promotion, "Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays." Starting tonight at midnight PDT with the launch of Frogger, Digital Eclipse's reworking of the Konami arcade classic, a new Xbox Live Arcade game will debut on Marketplace each Wednesday until August 9.
July 19 will reportedly see the release of an all-new game, the 3D adventure/puzzle hybrid Cloning Clyde from NinjaBee. Then it's back to the old school with Namco's seminal space shooter Galaga, due July 26.
The following week will see one of the most anticipated Xbox Live Arcade releases yet. Both Microsoft and Capcom have confirmed that Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting will finally hit Marketplace on August 2. Capcom had originally indicated that the game would arrive in "early 2006." It is the first title from the publisher for Xbox Live Arcade and is a reworking of the early-'90s arcade classic Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting. If Hyper Fighting isn't old-school enough, August 9 will reportedly see one of the elder statesmen of the game world, Pac-Man, begin gobbling up ghosts on Marketplace.

My bad!
Today Capcom announced its lineup of games for this year's E3 trade show, which takes place May 10 through May 12 in Los Angeles. The lineup features both familiar faces and new IP, as well as their first entries into the next generation.
Capcom also promised more to come--in addition to the playable demos announced today, the company also has new games it will announce at E3.

Active Duty. With the status of Active Duty, you are more likely to receive exposure by our GameSpot community, so your chances of receiving an official sanction or endorsement are increased. We are proud to see thriving unions such as yours.

Ready and able. Brigades are major-league unions whose ranks begin to approach quadruple digits. Such unions are probably venerable, disciplined, and exciting--and always on the lookout for even more willing recruits. An admirable accomplishment founded on humble beginnings.

Fighting force. Battalions have serious clout and stature, thanks to their droves of dedicated recruits. You can tell unions of this size have a significant impact. Can they grow to become even greater?
Size does matter. Greater than platoons, companies are larger-sized GameSpot unions whose membership includes many dozens of individuals. Chances are this is a veteran union you're looking at.
At last, we get some news. You can check out the updated hands-on and the developer interview through these links:

Safety in numbers. Unions that have outgrown the "squad" designation become platoons, which have a greater membership and benefit accordingly. Platoons are still relatively small in the context of what's possible for unions, but they're suggestive of their officers' due diligence toward recruitment.
The Street Fighter Union has formed! Thanks for joining, check back often, post a lot and have fun. More to come ASAP.
