In a section on the publisher's projections for its fiscal 2008 year (which runs until March 31, 2009), Capcom said it "aims to sustain solid growth by introducing Resident Evil 5 and titles in other core franchises." The publisher broke down a few of its sales expectations, with the next installment in the survival horror franchise projected to sell 2.3 million copies worldwide. The upcoming Bionic Commando revamp is expected to sell 1.5 million units worldwide, while Lost Planet: Colonies' success is pegged at 610,000 copies.
Capcom also touted its Monster Hunter franchise, which is exceptionally popular in Japan. Monster Hunter Freedom 2G for the PlayStation Portable was launched in March, and the publisher expects the Asia-only release to rack up 1.5 million in sales in its first year on shelves.

Today is a big day in Nintendo Wii land. Not only is the first Pokemon game making its way to the virtual console, there are also two new, online feature.
Pokémon Snap will allow you to take photos of your pokemons all over the world, then you can be like, "My pokemans, let me show you them" with the special feature that allows players to post pictures they take in the game to their Wii Message Board and send them to friends with whom they've traded Friends Codes.
Nice, huh? Also coming: A Wii gift feature, that allows you to share games with your friends. So buy Super Mario 3 or whatever and send it to a pal.

Today is a sad day in Smash Bros. history. It has been revealed that Brawl will in fact use friend codes that will be unique to the game.
Just like other Wii games, it will be a terrible chore to populate a friends list with people you know and IMPOSSIBLE to add random people you play.
As previously revealed, you will not be able to talk with strangers and no records will be saved in public play. You won't even get their names or friend codes.
Other "features" included in this online "solution" is the "benefit" of having all game participants be required to OK each person joining the game. This affects friends-only.
The game casts players as Darth Vader's evil apprentice, and promises to "unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. " The Force Unleashed is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
So there's that.
"We're proud to be able to deliver the next chapter in the Star Wars saga on the N-Gage platform," said Gregg Sauter, Director, Publishing, Nokia. "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Mobile game will take advantage of the N-Gage platform's robust native development environment to provide the ultimate mobile gaming experience, including powerful graphics, connectivity and community elements."

Sony, in an effort to attract more developers to the PlayStation 3, has slashed the price of the Developer's Kit to $10,250. This price is around 50% less than the original price.
Sony said, "As more and more new titles are developed for the PS3 format, SCEI will significantly reduce the price of the Reference Tool in order to contribute to the cost saving measures of the development community."
If you're an amateur developer looking to break into the business, maybe you should get yourself a new PS3 dev kit (instead of a car) and learn to code on the Cell processor. You'd be a rare commodity in the industry!
So it seems that Nintendo and Microsoft are both agreeing on something. They are expecting their consoles to last more than the usual 5 years...Sony we're waiting for a comeback response...
