I'm also a fan of the game and I really hope the main enemy is not Bowser again with some kind of new ridiculous power. Agree, looks too simple.

Just to clarify things people, there WILL be partners. Nintendo has already confirmed it. Besides, look at 00:33, don't you see a Toad following him? I really think that could be one of Mario's partners. Even so, I'm still not fully convinced about this game...I mean, I am a HUGE fan of the series but this just looks too simple for a Paper Mario game...I think that it has a lot more potential to be on a 3DS. Nintendo should've realeased it for Wii U. But that's just my opinion.

No partners, no buy. R.I.P Goombella, Vivian, Miss Mouse, and all other beloved partners that made the first Paper Mario special.

nintendo has like atleast 10 great games coming out by the time these games r out they'll have another bunch hopefully this leads to an infinite loop of great nintendo products

some of us have a reason to be angry about the change in paper mario wii. I for one wish they hadn't changed everything, as I was a huge fan of the system they used for the first two games. The new game wasn't really even recognizable as a paper mario game, they should have just called it flat mario, because it certainly wasn't paper mario. Hopefully they realised this and fixed it in the new game.

@TorugoBR yeah it sucked that in paper mario wii made u change characters instead of just using partners.

@twztid13 your acting like a fan boy that complains about new things. Why can't you appreciate a new change in Paper Mario? EVERY mario was great, nintendo does a good job on making games. Your hating on Super Paper Mario for no reason.

@Ryagan Well, the video had a generic toad following Mario to demonstrate partners would still be possible. I'm sure Nintendo didn't want to spoil any of the new partners by putting them in the trailer.

I think every paper Mario game was amazing. especially Super paper Mario (not being totally rpg) i think it was a different thing that every paper mario fan needed to experience. Now that they are bringing paper mario back to rpg On A HANDHELD! what more can we ask for

The Paper Mario series is one of my favorites, but man, if Nintendo and Square teamed up again to make Super Mario RPG 2...I can't even begin to explain how happy I'd be.

@Ovirew not true. jumping on enemies always triggers a turn based battle in all paper mario's except the wii one. that one was also WAY shorter than the other paper mario's. walking around in the games is akin to walking around the cities & dungeons of other rpgs like final fantasy, only in a mario universe. since mario is known for platforming, why didn't they change mario kart, mario party, mario sports, etc. and turn those into to platformers with small 'elements' of racing, party gaming, baseball? rpg fans feel like they got screwed since that was the only rpg in the mario universe, and then it wasn't (as in, it didn't exist). i played through SPM, and never said it was bad, but it should've had a different name, or there still should've been a mario rpg released on the wii. many were pissed cuz that's THE GAME they wanted to play (myself included) that made them get a wii, as there was no zelda (i had TP on gamecube, where it was meant for) no kirby, no real mario game, etc. i would've waited for mario galaxy & got a wii at a cheaper price if i'd have known that's what paper mario was (i know, i blindly trusted ninty, so i deserved it). point is, it was good, but not a MUST HAVE like paper mario is to rpg fans. i bought a 3DS SOLELY for paper mario, so yeah, it matters.

@twztid13 I'd say that's a pretty wild comparison. Outside of battle in any Paper Mario game you can walk around and jump on enemies, which isn't too different from platforming gameplay. Mario in general is known for his platforming games. And besides Super Paper Mario still had some RPG elements. I just think it was silly, and even rude of fans of Paper Mario to hate on SPM when they already had two good RPG games in the series, SPM wasn't a bad game by any means, and Nintendo was sure to make another RPG-style Paper Mario at some point in the future.

@Ovirew so you don't think fans of any game, say CoD MW, would get mad if (remember it's only released every 2 years) the next one was announced to be a platformer? paper mario has always been an rpg. that's why people got mad when nintendo tried to gimmick it up to sell systems, and changed it's genre.

I don't understand why fans of Paper Mario get angry when the game isn't an RPG. It's just funny to me because the games aren't even all that complicated, and Super Paper Mario was a very good game as well. But whatever. Glad they are making a new one for the 3DS, but I'd be happy with it if it were a platformer or an RPG.

Hell yeah don't think I'll be sleeping much once this game comes at least until I've finished it that is!

Now this may be a reason for me to get a 3DS. But unfortunately, I'm waiting for the PS Vita.

reminds me of the first game, which i liked more than the second. and the pop-out book in motion thing... it'll be awesome.

Looks like stickers are the new special attacks. The platforming sections look good, and the scissors special attack is hilarious, Mario's needed one of those for a long time. I wonder what the name of the game is though...
