They really have taken the concept of motion controllers from the Wii but they have appeared to make it better.

Ketorulz. Yeah you're right. For shame that i don't like the playing as the same tired old mascots i've seen since the 80's. Sorry for not enjoying shoddy motion controls that were supposed to be able to do 1 to 1 movement. Sorry for not noticing the innovations in amazing FPS like the conduit or red steel. Yeah Ninendo's really doing a great job with all of the peripherals they have that normally only support 1 game. Not to mention that amazing heartbeat sensor. The Sky's the limit for good old ninty. Seriously though, i'll stick with my "clichéd" controllers and HD graphics until nintendo gets some good third party support and comes out with more than the handful of great games. At least the motion plus was a step in the right direction, i mean now it almost does what they promised back in 2006.
Yes, I know. I was meant to refer to the Playstation Eye and Wand in my comment, but the point still remains.
I love how there are so many ignorant kids who actually think they are cool for dissing an idea Nintendo thought of as well, after the Power Glove and EyeToy. Then they claim Wii has no good games...an obviously wrong statement, or that it "sucks", despite great franchises like Mario, Metroid and Zelda, and even some unique SEGA and Capcom gems. So yeah, why bother listen to them? They don't know the future of gaming. They will be living in the past, in the corner of the room, stuck with the same cliched 4-button and 4-trigger button controller all day long, without some more interesting innovation like the Wii has imposed with FPS games, sports and even adventure titles. Seriously, how spoilt can you get, not allowing yourself to embrace something more compelling. Why so negative all the time, these ignorant kids? Can you not live without your PRECIOUS GRAPHICS, or "HD"? Get over yourself. Learn that we are advancing in the interactive media, and if you don't like it, don't ruin it for everybody with your petty complaints.
now we just got to see the real games with this. i hope it does not become a thing that is left of the side with no real gaming use like the eye. but yea im down with this the idea is huge if done right.
It'd be nice if this could function as a flightstick for flying sims and games; the PS3 needs a decent stick controller.
They do make it look great, but I'm sure there will be a few flaws. All in all though, I think this will be the best performing motion controller on the three consoles with the most potential.
well......this is brilliant. a Wii controller with INTERNAL sensors, an eyetoy (in effect) can work like a wii nunchuk, with HD GRAPHICS, which will be used in not only casual games, but also hardcore games. this is amazing technology these days. sword fights are gonna be awesome now! WOOOOOOOOT! SHURIKEN THROWING IN NARUTO WILL GET AWESOME! unlimited potention for this technology, and im glad i have a PS3 NOW!
Finally HD WII it's almost here! All I want to do is try Resident Evil 5 with the PS3 motion controller. If it controls as amazing as Resident Evil 4 on the Wii does, then I will buy this!
With making a motion controller Sony needs a sure plan on how to market it, they need to be asking, how can we make this appeal to a broad audience? If someone ownes a wii how is what we have anymore different and can that be readily shown? How can we prove this is more than just a gimmick (much like how the eye toy became a lost peripheral). The competition for motion control is fierce or should I say the landscape has become which console can prove a better sense of immersion? The motion controller probably won't be as popular as Sony hopes nor will Natal, but I think they are definitly setting the stage for the next-gen console wars, I don't think it will be about who can bring more hardware power to the table but rather which console will make the player (any player casual or hardcore) actually feel like they are inside the game. The company that comes out of the gate running with that is defintitly ahead of the game for the future.
Will Sony make a nunchuck because it needs one using the PS3 controller and the PS3wand won't be comfortable for FPS games Come on Sony, Nintendo won't mind there use to it now.
i think this looks like one of the funnest new features to come out for any game capabilities in a very long time. i cant wait!!!! ....Same as a Wii remote? did the few who said this watch the video?
amaneuvering i have to agree haha - also for the people that are saying this is ugly - why not read what it says in the video? it says "Motion controller design not final - working sample" i would be surprised if it comes to market looking the way it currently does...
Gotta say, this looks more promising than Natal. I have a 360, but I'm not too sure about the lack of a controller there. Microsoft might have to implement a physical controller of some sort for Natal, just to keep up with Sony on this one.
Superior motion control technology that combines gyroscopes/accelerometers and camera tracking (for proper real world positioning at all times), as well as a mic... How is this not obviously superior to a Wiimote with M+ to some people? Also, to all the people that are saying this is ugly...how about actually looking at it with your own eyes for a change...
Well, my curiosity is piqued. I'm still not sold on the idea of motion controllers in the first place (not a big fan of the Wii) and very few game designers have honestly taken advantage of its unique controls. However, judging by what we see in this video, I think the MC is on its well to being something a little more refined. They've taken the idea of the Wiimote and made the controls much smoother. I like the little detail at the end with holding the enemy's head up with the sword.
Ugly or not, I like how responsive this motion controller is. Playing Resident Evil 5 with it is going to be sweet! :)
this isnt that cheap wii remote this is the perfected version it even detects style of writing thats how precise it is come on do that with your wii remote lol
