the power up rewards card, you get points when you buy stuff and if you have 1,000 points you can redeem them to get 5 pokemon. i'm going to pre order this on the weekend.

I already preordered my copy, I didn't know about the Powerup points thing though. At least this isn't one of those exclusive preorder only things, otherwise fans would be in an uproar. Still, I'm glad I preordered. ^_^

Yes I did.
If you don't have a powerup card they have a free one. Signing up for it gets you an extra 500 points. For every dollar you spend on new you gain 10 points and for every dollar you spend on used you gain 20 points.

i've been waiting for a nice new turn-based strategy game, and this is perfect! i'm on a fixed income (disability) so i gotta wait til june 3 to pre-order. do they just give you a code list to unlock the extra pokes?

I preordered at gamestop then I found out that gamestop is selling the game above the msrp... I'll be cancelling my preorder this week. This along with the kingdom hearts game will not make the employee that sees me happy.

You do know that the passwords for those Pokemon are universal and will be on this board once it's released right? So you can save $5 by preordering on Amazon since GameStop has it for $34.99 and you can save your Reward points for something better.

Same here. After Kirby Mass Attack, I should've known better...because, far as the store is concerned, a preorder is a guaranteed sale. Is there any other brick and mortar retailer that would be good for a preorder? I don't usually preorder anything at, say, Best Buy.

I have not because I have a lot of store credit at this store called 2nd and Charles, so I'm just going to call them the day it comes out and ask if they have it. If they do, I'll drive over and pick it up for free because of the credit.
If they don't I'll just drive to wal-mart and grab it, no worries.

I doubt it will go live until the day of/day before release. I got an e-mail from Gstop confirming the DLC and PowerUp Codes, so I know they're real. I just want to know if the codes really are universal, at which point only one person would need to spend the points (which really aren't all the much) then post codes in cheat section.

I had it preordered since the US release announcement from gamestop. Don't care much for the preorder bonus as I can get the code online later. Ended up going with gamestop as I wanted to play that game on day 1 and it is the closest store to my house. Online sites like amazon I never get the release on day 1.
