Unable to recruit unique warlords

I'm still playing the main game because I'm actually enjoying grinding and having all pokemon at their evolved form whenever I get a new one. My question is, right now I just conquered the rock nation, and for some reason I can't recruit any of the unique warlords I find, why is this?
Is this part of the game? Should I move forward? Or does it just become very unlikely to recruit a unique warlord after you have a certain amount? I
Also, while I'm at it, how do the DLC episodes work? I just got the game, is there no opportunity for me to get them?

according to the Japanese wiki, yes, you do stop recruiting the leaders after the Genmu (Psychic-type) and Daichi (Ground-type) Kingdoms. I don't know if it says anything about not being able to recruit their underlings (the non-special warlords), but from my personal experience, I haven't been able to recruit them once. You'll have to wait until the special episodes before you can use them and register them to your collection.

the DLC chapter are extra chapters you can play after clearing the main game.. unfortunatly.. by now some of them are over and you can't paly them.. but fear not!
the us/pal version is coming next month and you will be able to download it then..
