GameSpot UK's Jane Douglas sits down with Chet Faliszek of Valve Software to discuss upcoming puzzle game Portal 2.
and yeah, itd be nice if HL2 e3 came out within the next decade -.- i mean im a real big fan but im worried that the shooter market has evolved way to much for half life to keep up on story alone. seems like the longer they wait for it (assuming its comin out) the more they'll have to change the core gameplay to keep it competitive or engaging.
I had no idea Valve were in it together with Steam and Sony. I guess they don't tell you these things when you don't care...
wait.... u buy a ps3 copy? register it on steam via ur ps3... and u get a copy of it on pc via steam?
does this mean (not multiplayer portal - the game actually being developped) well see hl2 e3 soon ??
@squallgunblade7 I was talking from the financial, business-side of the case. I wasn't saying the PS3 doesn't have good games, I just said Microsoft is selling countless amounts of units compared to what Sony does, this is a fact - a fact I would love to see changed. I own none of these two consoles, but I do like competition. And I usually root for the underdog. Right now, whether you like it or not; Sony is the underdog.
I don't care if Valve delays a game, because I know that every second is worth the wait. "We do what we must, because we can" - Aperture Laboratories
I love the idea of buying PS3 version, also you got a serial for PC version, they should do it more times... But I certainly think they loose money with it. Now I'm just wondering if they integrate the players too, I don't have problems with PS3 controller, it's perfect and all other copy that, but playing in a mouse+keyboard versus a controller has some advantages, don't ya think?!?!?!
so PS3 version is the best by being same as PC's and MAC's and getting Steam integration & updates like those two? Seams like PS3 ver. is not the best but xbox ver. is the worst. There is a difference.
@runarjenssen in sales the ps3 might not do as well as the 360 but in game term exclusives the ps3 beats the xbox quite easily the games exclusive for the 360 r just plain boring but on ps3 they r quite fun, don't get me wrong i am no fanboy but i do hate microsoft but i do enjoy all the other systems quite well except the wii but nintendo is still a good company
??? ??????? ?? ???? ?????? ?? ??? ????? ?? ???? ?????????? ????? ?????? ????? ??? .... ????? ??? Trans: What a great game but isn't April a little bit far any way we'll wait
@ s_h_a_d_o : http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/golfshirts/d1e7/ There you go. I can't wait for this game! That's really all there is to it. Puzzles, portals, gels, co-op, more GlaDOS, science; it's all there!
The fact that Steam is now coming to the PS3, knowing how much Valve and Steam constantly try to (and succeed in) get better, I think eventually, with time, the PS3 might actually have an edge over Xbox 360 that will give it the ability to actually compete with the rival when it comes to sales. The cross-platform stuff has never really been pulled off well before, I'm sure if ANYONE can do it, Valve will be the guys to do so. Looking forward to it. :)
i loved the first one, and im sure im gunna love the second but i hate microsoft. they shaft gamers all the time. thier the only ones who make people pay to play online, and for dlc. they all need to take a good look at themselves.
looks good guess PS3 is the way to go this time around.... try to avoid First Person games on Sony consoles though....the controller is hard for me to get use to for those types of games
@Jona7hanLee Valve isn't intentionally leaving out the 360 users. They'd actually love to include the Xbox 360 users, but Microsoft will not allow Valve to integrate Steamworks into Xbox Live. This was a similar situation with Left 4 Dead 2 on the Xbox. Valve wanted to give out the L4D2 downloadable content for free on Xbox Live, just like how its free on Steam for PC users; but Microsoft would not allow it because Microsoft has to make some money off the Xbox Marketplace sales too, or something like that.
@klusps Yes Gabe Newell have also announced that if you buy the ps3 version you will get the Pc version, Reason: Because ps3 need some bonus points.
What I see more about Portal 2 is the co-op, I don't like games that rely on co-op BS so I'm hoping these guys aren't slacking on the singleplayer.
@Ant0n89 In the interview before this one it said that you would have to link your PSN and Steam account to dowload the Steam version if you bought the PS3 version. So it seems to me if you bought the Steam/PC version and still linked your PSN account they could just give you a code to download off PSN, but I doubt this will happen. The Co-Op on this looks like crazy fun.
