Do you know which are the special content will appear in the game if you enter one of these modes and point the 3DS’ camera at the AR marker found on the back of the Project Zero 2: Wii Edition manual?

Could somenone pls. post the AR marker scan from the manual?

    Thanks

It unlocks the two girls from PZ2 in the gallery mode in Spirit Camera.

I can't use it because my Spirit Camera is a US copy, which has the feature disabled, as the Wii game isn't coming out there.

So, you can play with Myo and Mayu in Spirit Camera or you can just look at them in the gallery mode?

Most likely the latter, question is, is this available in the North American version of SC? Most likely not, but it'd be cool if someone tried.

Wait, wait, what's all this about? Does this apply to the JP one too? I don't see an AR marker on the back of my instruction manual.

Are sigs really necessary? Who came up with this stuff?

As I said, I'd already tried, and no it doesn't work, as PZ2 is not coming out in America and the US localization team decided to remove the functionality from Spirit Camera.

You cannot play as the lost twins, as technically you cannot "play as" anyone, you are yourself in Spirit Camera and you interact with the game's world through the 3DS. You only get to look at them in the gallery and take AR photos of them.

Yes, it was in the Japanese version of the game. The back of the Project Zero 2 manual has the same art as the PAL version. A picture does not necessarily need a giant yellow question mark or a QR code to be recognizable as an AR marker.

Firstly, we don't know whether or not the game is coming to North America, that decision ultimately lies in the hands of Nintendo of America. Truly a shame, but that's how it is. Of right now, yes, it's frustrating as hell waiting for any sort of an announcement. But somehow I feel the game will come in the end. I think the coding is region locked between you and me. I heard something about similar things happening with KH3D with people who got Japanese cards for the game, but could not use them.

If the functionality is removed from Spirit Camera, that seems to imply heavily that Nintendo pre-emptively decided to not bring FF2 over here, which makes absolutely no sense on their part, but whatever. Ruin one of my favorite series.

^ But here's the thing, I believe the coding is region locked, hence why we've not been able to unlock anything regarding Spirit Camera. I certainly am not arguing that Nintendo of America is run by a bunch of incompetant apes that have zero business sense whatsoever. Of course, never say this to the likes of VampiricDragon_ **LOL** he'd go nuts defending them.

That could be easy to see. Someone should try to scan the japanese PZ2 QR code with the european version of Spirit Camera (or the opposite), and see if it works.

If it doesn't work (most likely it will be this), it's region locked and we'll need to wait more.

But if it does work, we can assume NOA never wanted to localize the game.

^ Exactly, see? You get it, I get the feeling using an EU Spirit Camera on a JP Deep Crimson Butterfly won't work. If so, this confirms the region lock theory, and tells me that the content is indeed embedded in the US version, but we need to get the game in North America in order to unlock it.

I have the PAL version of Spirit Camera; if somebody scans the jap AR code I can try and let you know if it works or not.
  • Jul 24, 2012 10:11 am GMT
I've looked everywhere but I can't find a scan. I think at least someone here bought a japanese copy, maybe they can help.
  • Jul 24, 2012 10:21 am GMT
Or at CamerasLens.com too. That's a good site to go to for the Fatal Frame community.

Nice find, definitely let me know if this works with the EU version of SC (I get the feeling it won't) if it doesn't, it confirms my theory, that the coding is indeed region locked, and we'll have to wait for more from NoA.

Wait, isn't that the european manual? I thought we needed the japanese one.

As far as I know it's the same image, like how the Kid Icarus AR cards work regardless of region, just the language of the text is changed. This is why I believe the coding was actually removed from the US version of Spirit Camera.

Well, I guess it would still be good to see the scan, so we could know for sure whether it's the same image or not.

But yeah, I guess that doesn't bode well.

This, my purchase of a Wii U hinges on this game making it here. If it doesn't, Nintendo has lost my business until this lazy bunch of bums known as Nintendo of America are all fired.
