How do I defeat Megatron?

In the last battle between Ultimate Prime and Megatron

You can also use melee attacks. Also for some reason if you are able to knock him down you can try throwing him. For some reason that seems to cause alot of damage. Couple of other things. When Megatron is in flight mode doing fly bys, watch his pattern and try your best to stay out of the blast radius. Second Megatron will use some of the attacks used by the drones. For example fire and charging. To stop these you will need to throw something at him. I recommend either trees or lamp posts, items less likely to explode before they hit them or you throw them at him.

    I agree with above answer, but don't use melee attacks when he is using fire or charge. When he stops charging, you can throw just about anything at him and then you can fight him. But when he is using fire, throw a car or tree at him and then he will come toward you.

    Megatron is hard to defeat unti you do it so many times,you remember them by memory.
    He has 4 diferent atacks he'll uses on you.
    The first[and the most oveous],is the fly by,where,he blasts you with his wepons while flying.
    The second,is the charging one.
    the third,he uses his swingging sword thing-a-majig :P
    and finaly,the flamethrower.
    Besure,like WWErules said,to hit him whith trees and such when he's standing still[when he uses his sword however,you can do it whenever as long as he's heading towards you.]
    I recomend useing the Target lock[L1 on PS2] to throw stuff at him.
    And heres another tip;if you're low on health and there are hellicopters around,Shoot them.You'll recive a health bonus when you destroy the hellicopter.

    I understand the throwing and melee attack part but in the beginning of the level when Megatron is flying around Optimus Prime what do i do? When i shoot at him his shield pops up and when i melee attack him nothing happens?
