I've just bought the PSP 3000! Hope it's good

I wonder what the psp 4000 may have, dual analog dropping the D-pad? (if there were three movement controls that would be a new type of PSP (not PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, ect). not a regular PSP. that would be fantastic for FPS games. Playstation has had dual anolog for the home consoles, why not the portable console?

Well you guys just shot through the ceiling with the Go, with such a high price in this economic climate. 250 is not an attractive price for a handheld with consumers today. Especially when there isn't any real upgrade as far as processing power goes.

Im getting mine with rockband unplugged

The big draws for me to upgrade are the glare resistant screen so I can play outdoors, and being able to play psp games on my non-HD tv. As far as battery life goes its never been a concern for me since I usually have a place to plug in while I play (in the car, at the university between classes etc) if you wandering out in the wilderness and cant find a place to plug in you psp get an extended battery.

I am really interested in buying a PSP, but I am not sure if I should take the PSP-3000 or a Red PSP-2000(God of War) what would you advise...

They added just a few new things. But I'll stick with my PSP 2000 no need to waste money doesn't have that many upgrades to go trade in my old psp for the 3000.

brighter screen? BRIGHTER F***ING SCREEN? it's bright enough, no eye-burns, please! How about a HD Screen? its fine, 3000 needs to be altered into "PSP HD".

IT'S OVER 3THOUSAND!!! Anyone, anyone at all? Anyways, I have a really old (2005?) psp phat that is just starting to break down, and I need a new one, so I'll pick this one up, alone with all three new consoles I want (DS,PS3,360) this upcoming holiday season. Although I doubt my current UMD's will last the next couple of months, they're already being held up with tape...

This sucks... minor updates just to piss off the people who already own a psp...

I wish they made psp 2 already... with more usb support and memory card support and better hardware and more software... I mean I have to get all kinds of software unofficial so i can use psp as a remote or a gamepad or use remote desktop... Come on...

I don't know about you people but... even if like to have skype in psp, i dont use it to call people... So i would not pay more for mic... i can always buy it and connect it to my psp when I need it.

They just keep making small updates to raise psp price and delay a possible psp 2

new screen?? i don't think so.. it's just the same with psp2000.. the touch screen and 2nd analog stick your asking is currently on process. but wit xbox.. haha.. maybe by the holiday season microsoft xbox will shock everybody for the release of the handheld touch screen gaming console.. wahehehe.. im guessing how many red lights will appear then.. =)

  • Sortek

    Posted Sep 22, 2008 9:46 pm PT

The graphics will NOT be better, all they did was replace the older screen with a brighter one. The graphics will still remain the same. Also there will be a mic added and -20min to battery life... is there a reason to buy this? No, not really. If you still have a PSP 1000 model then i think it's time for an upgrade, however, if you still possess the PSP 2000 model then there is no reason to get this. At least, that is what i believe.

    much noise about nothing ..

  • snake2215449

    Posted Sep 22, 2008 7:47 am PT

Well the graphics are better and the appearance is more attractive, the battery cut by 20 minutes is bad.

  • no_cultureicons

    Posted Sep 22, 2008 6:02 am PT

Not many new features then... the brighter screen is a welcome change, I recently tried playing my 1000 on the train but had to shield it from the light with my bag. They need to put more effort into offering better battery life and an analogue stick that doesn't lose its calibration settings after 12 months. Games can be pretty hard when your character randomly starts walking to the right.

Oh, and find some developers to make better games... perhaps longer ones over two UMDs.

  • RAVEZero

    Posted Sep 21, 2008 6:28 pm PT

Good Lord, 3hrs of battery time?! What do they want us to do, walk around with a friggin' power generator? You'd think with a new update they would try not to screw us on battery power.

  • GunGriffin

    Posted Sep 21, 2008 2:29 pm PT

    @ 3xca11bur:

True. But rght now the second Analog is out for good reason it would force everybody to buy the new model and all the old games, and the ones currently in development would be outdated too. Also It would piss off the developers alot look at the latest Wii addon and how Lucas Arts go so pissed off about it, and so many third party developers are going over to other systems because of the compatability and lack of new addons.

Also the comment he makes about the battery life has been depunct on the PlayStation Blog in an official post from the the Head of Sony's PSP division. Plus PSP has a crap load of better games then on the DS, and they look better too. I can't wait to see AceCombatX: Skys of Deception on that new screen!

  • 3xca11bur

    Posted Sep 21, 2008 10:51 am PT

better but it could still use a second anolog stick but the microphone would be helpful and the brighter screen

  • tristhatsme

  • Conrad_Buff

    Posted Sep 17, 2008 10:10 am PT

All of you guys are whining about a new touch screen and second analog but the PSP isn't ready for that. They'll have to wait a while before they can actually do that because so many people will buy that PSP to be up-to-date with things (many many many many things would change if a second analog stick came out). And for so many people to buy that their PSP's will have to get outdated or break etc.

  • Halpo14

    Posted Sep 17, 2008 6:14 am PT

This is stuiped what we need is a second anolog and more Ram and a better Flash player ! then ppl will get psp. Touch screen we dont need(Whould be really cool though). But it whould give game makers more ways to make games better. And we need an update that if you dont update you cannot play games online. ( I dont know why Playstation havnt done that yet. Even though its on PS3 !!

  • taj7575

great sony. Too bad nobody gives a crap about a new redesigned PSP ( unless they make a damn touch screen or something ).

I still have me PSP 1000 and still not fully satisfied with it. COME ON! Good games! Better stuff!
