One clarification on the skill books since you went over them on the stream: The way you get books is you spend the TP at the Skill Trainer, and he gives you book #X for the level. Then any character can learn that book, but it's a choice between the skills that book teaches and the other books of that "set" (i.e. 1-4 are blue, 5-9 are green, whatever) and you only get one of each? I think I read somewhere that you CANNOT TAKE THIS BACK, correct?

The trainer will sell you Rank #1-3 in the beginning, which you then buy all 3 books with TP. Then you decide which of the 3 books in that set to learn for each character and learn it via TP.

Later on, he'll sell the next set (5-9) and again, you decide which one of those set to learn for each character.

And yes, once you learn a book from that set, you can stuck with it. Thankfully unless you really don't plan out (and randomly choose books) you can learn most skills (but not all) since there are many books that covers skills across the ranks.

If you miss the skill "Rush" another book or set may have it as example.

And then each one seems to give you an EX Skill/Willpower. How does this work? Does every character have no EX Skills to start and they pick up to 4 from books, or do they have a set number of willpowers and you can choose some from the books?

You can learn up to 4 EX-Skills (Willpower). Each Rank (1-4) from the book is for each WillPower.

So until you learn all the books from that Rank.. you can kind of decide the willpower you get from learing that book from each set.

To make it clear...
There are 4 Rank Main Books..
--- Each Rank Main Book have "Sets" of Minor Books.
------- You buy the Minor Book sets from the trainer and learn one minor book from each set.

When do you get the option to pick an EX/WP, only when learning the book?

Everytime you learn a book from the set (each have their own EX-Skill/Willpower). If it has the same EX you learned, then nothing happens, if it is different, then it'll ask you if you want to learn that instead.

What do the books tend to cost?

10-1k+ .. PER book PER character to learn each PER skill listed in that book.

So.. you spend TP on...
- Buying the Book Set
- Spending it on EACH skills for that book set chosen for EACH character

Finally, you pointed out that certain characters can't use certain skills because their elemental ranks aren't high enough. Is there any way to change that, or are you just SOL on using Extra-5 skills if Weiss starts with Extra-4?

Elemental Rank are fixed aside from the hero since it is based on what you choose from the orcale in the beginning.
