No doubt, Resistance is currently one of the best FPS game series. All the 3 games are just wonderful!

2 Like I have not only fnished this game, but just finished platting this too, and guess what?? This game to me, was awesome. Not to mention that the platinum for this game was actually fun from start to finish. Real good. I would rate this a 9.5 on campaign alone. Of course Chris is simply a human being with his own opinion, but we do differ in our views.
While Mr. Watters "complains that the co-op from resistance 2 is gone, I actually LOVE the change they made: They took that silly co-op from resistance 2, and brought back the campaign co-op from Resistance 1-only this time around its not a separate save file from single player. It's kind of like drop-in, drop-out. I LOVED that. So while Chris took AWAY points, I GAVE it points.
Over all great graphics, awesome weapons, interesting scenes. Definetely worth getting.
1 Like Hmm. I too wonder why just an 8.5. It's really getting silly. It seems like anything with he title Call of Duty immediately gets no less than a 9. But other titles that are AWESOME just an 8 or 8.5??? (and DO keep in mind that i really enjoy COD).
Got this game not too long ago, and within seconds of putting gameplay, I noticed the graphics have been REALLY upgraded. campaign Co-op is back-this time drop in anfd drop out (well kind of, at every check point)-COOL, unlke Resistance 1..
Also LOVING that no stupid online requirements for the plat!! Got this game on 74% already. Im sure Super Human is gonna be a pain in the ass, like maygames on their hardest diffculty are. Im currently doing it on normal to unlock its superhuman. I definitely disagree with Chris. First, I was never into that Co-op of Resistance 2 so I would NEVER lower the score cuz of that.
I used to see Gamespot as a good source and authority in reviewing. But they no longer convince me. IGN really seems more accurate and on-point with their reviews.
Xbox is a great console ! But ..........waiit a second , i don't have an xbox ! I have a ps3 so it doesn't matter if they make it on xbox ! Actually i dont think xbox can run this game because her graphics are f*ckin bad ! You can notice that in fifa 12 ! Ps3 is crushing 360 and her games are much much better!
Playing this game for the second time the story is awesome in the game. I really hope they make an resistance 4.
I wont say the score is totally bogus, but after watching the review i would think the game deserves the extra .5 they didn't name a lot of real flaws at all.

2 Like @awheaten Are you joking? I have both a 360 and PS3, and 360 could run this game easily. It's hardly a graphically intensive game, and only looks okay by today's standards. Also, 8.5 is hardly a bad score. It just got it because it's a great game with some notable problems.
Also, you're saying to look to IGN, but they tend to give ridiculously high scores to Playstation games, so they're no better than the "biased" Gamespot. Resistance 2 was great, but it did NOT deserve a 9.5 in the slightest. Halo Reach got the critical acclaim not because it's an Xbox game, but because it's one of the best games on the market.
I'm guessing you're a little kid by your atrocious grammar and have never actually played an Xbox, given how you claim Gamespot is biased and don't think that the 360 can run a graphically mediocre game.
@MetalMan300 Halo Reach was too short and didn't do enough new. The graphics blew me away, I never thought they'd be able to kick it up a notch from Halo 3, much less the three notches they did for Reach. That said, I loved Reach, but it felt like a Halo side mission.
People are too hard on the Resistance series...I loved one and two, but am still waiting for the price drop

@Getbacktogaming Meta critic is wrong too. look to IGN. Their leading on all things Playstation. GameXboxSpot could learn a thing or 2 from them. Now that you've been own go eff yourself.

This game is evidence of how ashamed Insomniac is of Resistance 2 which unfortunately caught the CoD clone virus (I don't think CoD is bad, just the guys who try to steal CoDs sales by doing nothing other than copy pasting moder warfare) that's been spreading around and added 2 weapons at a time and regenerating health. They then saw the error of their ways and did their damned best in order to makes forget about Resistance 2. All I can say is all is forgiven Insomniac.
Best of the 3s this year. R3 is all about fun. Does nothing too innovative, but it's fun, which is what matters the most!
Most of the online is not active most of the week ,and most of the time you will play with same people . I believe the reason for This is ,most player are playing Call of duty :modern warefare 3 or Battelfield 3 , which is a wrong time for lunch a game like this , i believe sony has chosen the wrong time to lunch such Great game , but still for me i prefer R3 over COD any day
I never really liked playing these games, I found them to be way to hard to get through. Too bad the concept of this franchise is cool and playing it can be fun, if only they tamed the difficulty level a bit.
@thekazumalord Dude are you kidding me? I walked through both of these on the normal difficulty. I played Killzone 3 on normal, and it was grind...now that's a hard effing game.
@monicker I've been playing games since the SNES was first released.. and i've played plenty of FPS games. This games was way to hard to play through, I couldn't get through the first few levels on the easiest difficulty. Resistance game are way to hard. Killzone 3? now that was a far easier game, challenging but not as hard as Resistance games. Killzone 3 was a better game overall in addition to being easier.

For starters, my bad, I meant Killzone 2, not 3. Still, Resistance 1 and 2 were easier than Halo 1,2,3 and Reach (though Reach was pretty tough) - I was never stuck once in either one, Killzone 2 on normal was a grind. I don't, know, I still love all these games so what ever man, no worries, I wasn't knocking you.

As an owner of both systems, Playstation shooters, while being excellent games by themselves, need to combine the efforts of Killzone and Resistance into one mega first -person-shooter to compete with Halo. Instead of playing 2 great games, I'd rather play one epic game. This just needs a little more polish.
so... it's resistance 2... minus 60-player matches... minus co-op op online classes... but plus a douche bag soldier who kills Nathan at the end of 2.... yeah... no thanks.

I have only X360 and I'm crazy to buy the PS3 from a good time ago(since it's lauch lol :D), I need to finish the God of War & Killzone series, not talking abou Uncharted and a lot more. I like both video games.
@Irish-J I agree, and I can say more. Just a lil time ago, in pages of PS3 games of anything PS3, it has propaganda of what??!!! X360 and its games. Ultil now it's happen. You know the rules, if they pay you, they are better.
I disagree a little bit with a score. Just a point 5 more and it would be classified as a whole lot better game. and it deserves that half point.
This game was better than R2 in every single aspect and it got a lower score. It is simply bizarre, how this editors make their conclusions... they should also play PS3 games before making the reviews...
@ricopogimo: I don't blame companies for not inventing new genres, and I don't say that only ground braking games are useful and the rest is garbage. But there is a great distance between this and the situation that we are living today. I'm sick of seeing the same games with different names overflowing the market. This is not evolution. I call it: out of control.
@Rheinmetal Actually its called progression and improvement. Yes there has not been many new genres in gaming for abruptly 11 years now. There is still FPS, Fighting, RPG and Hybrids (3rd person shooter and FPS RPGs) in general and some couple of new ones introduced like Sand Box and Interacts like like Heavy Rain, some Wii or PS Move and Kinect Titles. The bottom line is, "Yes" genres never evolved much really but the content and value added is much bigger now compared to previous title of the past years. Considering above and the current economic condition. Many gamers now are quality concious when it comes to their product of choice. There are many factors now gamers consider from their titles to consider it a nice purchase which goes beyond the generic like graphics, sounds and gameplay ex. some ppl prefer their games story driven with top notch hollywood style acting with a nice soundtrack to boot. Its unfortunate though there are a couple of game developers that kept releasing the same titles year after year with very minor or no development updates at all. I wont name names cause that would be unprofessional. Anyway, if we are going to follow your algorithm of negativity against how games evolved, well I guess lets blame cars as well. Why are we still driving our cars with rubber radial wheels? Didnt back to the future promise us Hover Boards and Cars in Year 2000.
1 Like Great game, better than I expected. I gotta say that I can't quite understand the 8.5, the campaign and online play are fantastic. There are a couple of glitches and every once in a while the enemy may run by you, but at least a 9 or greater.....if this would have been on xbox, it would have gotten much better that 8.5. Before I get attacked I have both systems and have the exclusive releases for both including GOW3 (great game), just saying that PS3 exclusives should get a little more respect!
@Hidden_Ace: No I haven't even played it. I'm speaking about modern games in general. I'm sure there are differences between the three Resistance games, but don't you get the feeling that we are served the same food over and over? Seeing the big picture what differentiates Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem 3D and Doom from Killzone, Bullet Storm and Resistance? And thanks for not thumbing me down. :)

Yep, it's a very fun game. Co-Op campaign is great, I'm so glad that they put the time in to add this as I didn't care much for the last games Co-Op. And no weapon limit was another big fix, upgrading weapons is killer as well; need to find more hours in the day to get more play time!
A word for Gamespot! Try to review this game again and now with the 1.02 patch! Online matchmaking is now faster (even faster than KZ3) and 0% frame rate drop! This game is Superior to Gears 3 in anyway. I am not satisfied of my XBOX purchase today!
Unbelievable! I played the game online and single player and I can attest this is a 9 AAA game. The game was completely built from the ground up. Now compare this to Gears 3 which is just a carbon copy of Gears2. I purchased Gears 3 today just for the sake of comparison and I say Gears 3 is not a 60 bucks game considering I got Resistance 3 at 40 bucks for region 3. The weapons in Gears 3 are mindless without strategy unlike the weapons in Resistance 3 which has sense and purpose. Gears 3 excels in graphics but that is nothing compared to Resistance 3 with both running in 720 in a samsung Plasma TV. on higher Res you can feel see the screen tearing in Gears 3 and thats a fact. I am not a fan boy and the truth it Gears 3 is an inferior game compared to Resistance 3 in every way.
Recycle. Was there a real need for games like Resistance 3, Killzone 3 and Gear of War 3? Besides milking the fans of course.
