Shaun McInnis dusts off his guitar skills and takes on Rocksmith.
I rated Gizmofather down because he fails at explaining what he means. He hasn't even played this game..it DOES work. Teachers will ALWAYS be the option (if you get a good one anyway..which is hard in a lot of places) but considering this is 70 dollars forever and a GOOD teacher is 90+ dollars a MONTH....this is a great place to start for beginners/intermediate
Again some lazy western people invention. And will make room NOT to go to actual teacher and will later in years realize, that all technical things are ... in there. I better go and plug my bass/guitar to actual amp and play with my dudes in life...
Bass guitar will be added at a later date and the PC version has been delayed, no one knows until when yet. The full setlist will be revealed the week of release.
This DEFINITELY BEATS pressing "plastic colored buttons" and showing off Your "Guitar Skills on Youtube"...
So when an old person comes into the room and sees me playing, they can no longer say, "Why don't you just learn how to play a REAL guitar?"
I'm undecided on this.. It can either help people that already play, introduce new people to the hobby, OR it could devalue people that played (guitar) before, if everyone has and epiphone lying around and say they can play well.. We'll find out either way.
haha at the end the goofy I approve nodding XD Yea this is finally something interesting that people wouldnt be able to knock as far as saying "Well its not a real guitar so that's lame.."
This looks really cool! Wow :O I first saw it on Freddie's second channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuFEiVGKxSA&feature=channel_video_title
this looks amazing!!!!!! I've been waiting for something like this for a while, I find it hard to just learn riffs and song by just looking at tabs, I need to hear the rhythm and see a visual representation of the song. I think this could create a new breed of would be guitarists it will ease people into it and not make learning an instrument look like a daunting task. If the game goes down the DLC road with downloadable song packs, people could be buying songs they really want to learn with their own personal teacher that doesn't cost £20 a session.
I'm suprised, it doesn't look to bad. I've playing for about 2 years but i haven't had a teacher since a year and a half ago and although i've learned alot on my own i know i would have been farther if i had taken more lessons. Hope the game has some stuff for more advanced players :)
The future of teaching. No doubt. Kudos to Ubisoft for creating something useful for once. If only they made games like this into philosophy, mathematics, language and science too. Now the important question: Will there be drums?
@shootaashootaa Well, at least the majority of them will have a better attitude about playing than you. You sound like the guitarist that we kicked out of our band. Really encouraging and humble...
I'm a huge fan of music games, and I'm glad to see that it's still evolving even though the genre is almost dead.
@shootaashootaa That's a load of bull. I've been playing for years and years, got grade 8 a couple of years ago, played many diverse styles live, did music production focusing on guitar at university etc etc... People who claim that any guitar under 2 grand is no good are either trying to show off about the fact they have a '57 telecaster in their closet or have learnt everything they know about guitars from old rockers who wouldn't dare be seen playing anything that hasn't been blessed personally by Les Paul himself.
@ smiseck Are you kidding me? You'll have to look hard to find anything under 2000$ that's any good. Ask any serious player, they won't spend their money on anything that's worth less.
sound really interesting Shaun.. I really was waiting for something like this to come out. I have my elec. Guitar sitting behind me waiting to be played for years. Now I can start learning in a fun way, I really hope there are some lobbies where someone can upload there songs and techniques. Or just uploads some music to get that mixture of cultural taste.
Will there be the option to display noted instead of tabs? Practicing tabs is just counterproductive. Also, how cool is it that I have the most down rated comment on this video, pretty cool hah! I'm so sorry that all who's watching this video are terrible guitar players, so sorry!
@2:14 he started to play a C major instead of minor. What a noob lol... In all seriousness though, this looks pretty cool. If there isn't any latency and the song list is actually good then this could be a great game and a great way of learning the guitar. But woe to the person whose guitar has bad intonation.
this looks interesting. i've been playing guitar off and on for about 2 years now. maybe this could help me sharpen up my skills. guitar hero/rock band games are lame.
i already play real guitar. but this looks interesting. sort of like guitar pro but this actually analyses your playing rather than just showing you how to play.
what i'd like to know is, if it also teaches you how to tune your guitar, otherwise, playing songs out of tune, is kind of pointless...
@ shootaashootaa have you been to a guitar shop (guitar center or any music store) lately? $500=crap? you can get a good guitar for under that anymore man.
I hope it'll work with the Mustang Rock band pro controller (you know the one with fake chords and lost of buttons), I bought it but its just impossible to learn a song on Rock Band 3 because the game wont let you play it at your own rithm so you can learn the chords first and if you miss one, instead of bringing you back, it stop the song and makes you repeat that chords, screwing up the rithm of the song. And also no freeplay to practice on your own. Gotta buy a midi/usb wire to plug it on a computer. I hope this game will actualy try to make us learn guitar without constantly looking at the screen, its like all of those game developers expect us to play those song just like the 5 button guitar, it jsut doesnt work that way. Having the guitar displayed on the side should make it easier though.
