This is GameSpot's pick for Best Action/Adventure Game of 2012.
It is very well known that GS for some financial reason always favors Bethesda's, rockstars and M$ studios.
This time was not an exception, dishounered was a fine game and unlike Halo, it ought to be in that list, but not beat.
Its characteristic bioshock like flavor turn me off, if your are of British descendance i understand the reason it might have a certain appeal to you,
but last time i checked G$ hosts a multi-culture-nationality members and is not only adressed to American/Brittish...
The editors should really start considering this, before they fall pray to their nationalism...
how did the walking dead make game of the year candidate but it didn't even get nominated in its own genre? Lol gamespot fail.
hmmm weres dishonored in gamespot people choice award i dont see it in the sweet 16 round man it suppose to be the best game action game of the year right ......... http://www.gamespot.com/best-of-2012/peoples-choice/index.html?page=2
@jcwainc I don`t think that 0.4% is a difference ... and It had a strong competitor.
how is action coupled with adventure, they are 2 different genres? Dishonored is an action game, the walking dead is an adventure game. Or am I missing something?
For me Sleeping Dogs deserved to win, people thought that it was going to be a GTA clone and it was not.Great fighting system, very good story and it's just plain fun.Dishonored is good but it get's boring after a while.
and here's more prof that dishonored sucks! http://www.g4tv.com/vgdm/best-game-2012/vote/566/dishonored-vs-borderlands2/ only 25% of the people think its a good game. take that kool aid drinkers. like i said ds2 all the way!!!
I Agree with you, dishonored sucks, at first i checked the game's score 9 and i though it will be amazing, i was surprised when i started playing it and i stopped it at mission 1. I think darksider II should have won, even if it lacks the difficulty which professional video gamers like me seek for. For mr the best game ever is DARK SOULS.
@darksoul1968 maybe the fact that you stopped on the first mission emphasizes your lack of suitability to rate the game. How can you say it sucked when you played less than 5%% of it? You hadn't even got to any of the good parts yet... hard to believe a comment like that came from a 'professional' gamer... You actually consider gaming your profession? Gaming is your paid occupation? And you have received formal training to get where you are?... idiot...
@darksoul1968 ah shit. You really are just a little kid huh? Well notch this up as a win little fella! I don't argue with kids. Enjoy your multiple consoles mate!
Video games is my best hobby, it is in my blood, i have 1 PS3 2 XBox and 3 PCS with incredible VGA cards and now once ps4 & Xbox 720 are released for sure i will get both, Damn most of the money i spend are on video games so i think i can call this as my profession which you made fun when you mentioned it. Another thing you calling me an idiot proves that you are stupid and dont know how to rate a game, in Dishonored when i read the Skills list and noticed the "FREEZE TIME" & "RAT SWARM" i realized that once you have the ruins enough to purchase them then the game will be a piece of cake and to prove it and prove that you are stupid i resumed the game on XBOX 2 weeks ago and am playing it about half to an hour daily or miss playing it sometimes, i have the freeze time and rat swarm skills and any group i face i activate them and balst my way to end the mission easily which proves my correct point of view when i read the skills menu now i reached the flooded city even i took out three of the tall metallic legs guys which supposed to be so tough using freeze time and blask their tanks with the pistol....... SO easy and totally not a challenging game. So Please dont comment on someone who played games and have experience more than you , you are pathetic and you are the idiot
@jcwainc That poll doesn't state or imply that Dishonored sucks. 75% just like B2 better.
By your reasoning any game that loses in a match here at GS would "suck". You and your little rant fail, as in 0% approval.
@jcwainc That's not proof of anything. What people think has no bearing on the quality of the game. Dishonored is in fact quite fantastic, if even from just a design standpoint.
@spidey0102 But a game that brings you not even 20 hours of gameplay, which is all the same i might add, is a good game?
A good game should be able to bind you to a game for weeks. And every hour should feel like one well spend. If you pay 60 bucks for a game which you won't play for more then a week you're just retarded. Dishonored defenitely did not earn this reward. I bet they payed for it.
@jemoedr 95% of single player games today do not give you 20 hours of gameplay. You're not obligated to pay 60 dollars for it either - I just found a 43 dollar offer for Dishonored. Plus this game has a great replay value. Once you've completed it in say, 8 hours, in full stealth mode, you can replay it in all guns blazing mode.
"A good game should be able to bind you to a game for weeks." - is that your idea of a good game? How about Portal 2? How about a game like Risk or an iOS game? Think outside the box.
I have only played Sleeping Dogs out of all those but based on what I've heard and seen, I thought Mark of the Ninja deserved that - as it is the only game there that I haven't heard a single complaint, and nothing but praise for. But as usual, people only think about the so called AAA games in these awards, despite their flaws.
Good. I'm glad Dishonored won. Darksiders 2 was cool too but Dishonred deserved it.
boooo!!!!!!! dishonred sucked kool-aid drinkers.... whnat ever enjoy your broken easy game i like challanges like darksiders 2
Out of the picks, this was a clear winner in my book. While I am currently enjoying the hell out of DSII, and played the hell out of SD's, Dishonored is one of those few games that I rented from Redbox, kept it for damned near the cost of the game, and still bought it.
@sgt_F79 The problem with AC3 was that the console versions didn't run that smooth and lagged frequently.
