1 Like there's only 12 days left do Dota 2's biggest event this year , The International which will be held in Seattle . the top 16 teams of the world will be there and the prize for 1st place is 1,000,000$ or more . ( it was the last year's price ) .
also it will be free to watch via Dota TV , so if you are not excited .. you should be ! good news for the newcomers is that you can learn almost everything watching the matches .
I've heard people mention "Ancients" when seemingly NOT referencing the enemies base. It gets used when talking about something in the river (or near it).
So anyway, this is really confusing. What are people talking about because they clearly aren't talking about the actual "Ancient" that needs to be destroyed in order to win the game.
@Scorpion1813 Ancients are the stronger versions of neutral creeps that are located on either side of the map. The dire group is located just east of Roshan's pit, while the group on the radiant side is positioned NW of the radiant's tier 1 tower. These groups of more powerful creeps offer more exp/money than normal neutrals, but normally can't be taken down until later on.
I always though it was "Shadow Shaman", but that's because the only time I have ever seen it used is in matches where I am playing as that Hero.
@NoThlnG Considering it has so many uses (as mentioned in the video) I think people should be a little more specific.

3 Like These videos are fantastic. Half of it is because of the game itself is great, but the other half is that Zorine and Ed are great. Thanks so much for this series. It's very informative and entertaining.
Umm one question @Zorine ???? What do u do wen ur being harassed by the enemy team all the time n not being able to farm? Wud u just change lanes or jungle? Coz i face this alot especially wen I pick a melee hero and m up against a ranged or caster hero.... i get harassed and m not able to farm at all....
@rahul4life you should tell your team to keep the map open for you to farm , but that won't happen in a pub game 'cause most of people don't communicate at all . if you pick carry heroes ... you need to good supports too .
1 Like @rahul4life be sure to have lots of regen at the start, a qb or stout can help too. the main way to get an easy farm is to have a good ranged support with u, keeping the enemy away as much as possible, try to have 3 ranged heros on a team to cover all lanes.
failing that, if u have stuns be agressive and call for ganks, eith kill them or force them back to heal while u take free farm

2 Like Nice video, and keep your head up Ed. It looks like you're starting to feel a bit more comfortable with the game. Half of DOTA is familiarizing yourself with ALL of the heroes, so you know what they're capable of. Things that you learned include.
- What Rupture does, how to avoid its damage, and how to spot when it is used on you.
- That Bane can deal a lot of damage 1-on-1.
- That you can purchase all of the recipe pieces for phase boots in the side shop.
- To limit when you use Silence since it's heavy on mana cost.
- That both Witch Doctor and Sven have targeted stun spells.
Get comfortable with using your inventory items with hot keys. Many times you will pick up multiple items/equipment that need to be activated (Shadow Blade, Tangoes etc.) to be used, so they're pretty much an extension of your skills that you level up. Also look into getting a magic wand. It will help you heal so you don't have to keep running back to base. Good luck!
1 Like Ed, too much running away with such a damage dealing hero. You can't be so afraid of the enemy team. Batrider had NS in his clutches and you ran. Opposite of what you had to do. How would you feel if we were playing COD and I ran away upon seeing other players? Then I said it was because I was afraid of getting shot! WTF?! Don't be suicidal, but you can't play like a scaredy cat, either. It's kill or be killed.
@the26er Haha, you're right. I need to learn which battles I can win, but I don't want to feed! SO SQUISHY.
@doorselfin the definition of feeding has nothing to do with leaving an ally engaged in a fight,he tanked and caught sum1 and u bailed,just admit it was a wrong call.we all have our fails.
How come you guys didn't level up drows silence at all? You'd think a 6 second stun as opposed 3 seconds wouldve come in handy in that match?....
@pupp3t_mast3r I was focused on boosting DPS and Frost since t seems those skills have a greater effect leveled up, but you're right, that could've been a better way to do things. OH WELL.
@doorselfin well,being squishy dats why u have silience so caster n active moves cant be used against u while u do yur thing,savvy?
@dnlashrafi You could join beta key giveaways, sign in DOTA 2 site, wait for release or ask a friend to buy beta invitation if he's already in.
@dnlashrafi You can sign up to get into the beta through Steam. All you do is take a short survey and then they'll send you an e-mail when you get in. The game will be Free to Play once it is released, but I don't think there's a time table for that yet. Perhaps by the end of the year.
